  1. Las back in. Keep Forbes in. McHugh and Higdon up front. Humph and Murph on the bench as the speed merchants.
  2. Actually, I think I'd prefer jet lagged and knackered first team players than some enthusiastic reserves looking to make a name for themselves. Let's keep it tight for the first hour and then bring on our speed merchants in the last 30 mins to finish them off.
  3. Possibly, although Murph relies more on his speed while Rosco was more of a ball player in my eyes.
  4. I thought for these events, if you are a non-Trust member, they let you pay an 'entrance fee' and that fee covers the cost of joining the Trust too.

I'd also throw Ipswich and maybe even Blackpool into that mix.
  6. A lot of it is down to the character and ambition of the individual (not to mention talent). There are plenty of good players who have warmed the OF benches and various benches down south. McAllister and Lambert are guys who were very successful after moving away from Scotland. Others have not prospered. The same can be said for players moving to the OF. It's very much risk and reward. If you have confidence in your own ability, heading south is a gamble, but the payoff can be huge. Sticking with the OF pretty much guarantees League titles, Cup Finals, an annual Champions League qualifier and a few Europa Cup games. It's a comparatively safe option if you make the first team but you are still only playing for a relatively small fish in an even smaller pond.
  7. Loan signings won't come until around 31st August (when the EPL teams have their squads finalised). I've been reading of a few Championship managers in the same predicament.
  8. The simple solution is to stop reading it. I gave up on The Rancid and its kin many years ago (including the online version) and don't miss it for one second. Haven't missed it for one second.
  9. Just watch the game itself. Undoubtedly a great occasion for the club, but a terrible game of football from a Motherwell perspective. Made Levein's 6-4-0 look like all out attack.
  10. Half time entertainment to me was always the other half-time scores from around the league. A: 1 - 0 B: 0 - 0 C: 2 - 1 etc. and then having to decipher them from the programme.
  11. Paul Mills' last minute goal against Dunfermline at East End Park.
  12. Heart says 1 - 1. Head says 0 - 2.

Are you claiming Humphrey had a good game on Saturday? Because that's what this thread is all about.

Frankly, I don't believe any professional ref 'has it in' for any team. And if, for one second, I decided to believe he did have it in for us, why did he award the free kick we scored from when he could easily have called it as a fair tackle?

Definite? So McCall told you that himself did he? You often confuse your own opinions with fact on here. Why should Forbes be a straight swap for Keith? Are we only allowed to have one style of player in the team? Do you seriously expect us to have clones for every first team player? That's just deluded.
  16. Aye, seems like the SPL stopped selling the games overseas. Or maybe the OF decided to hold onto their individual rights. Should be plenty of links for the Rangers game. Just hope it's worth watching

Changing the shape of a team to accommodate the strengths of your available players sounds like common sense tactics to me rather than a lack of faith.
  18. After their win, goal difference was the same as ours. So next factor is goals scored. They had scored 5 at that stage to our 4.
  19. I'd be delighted if we did, but I can't see it. Although the Fir Park games are usually tighter affairs.
  20. You can rotate on the VLC player too.
  21. It feels like I have only been here a couple of years, but it's actually 14 years this month.
  22. With the access I have to the stories on here, the Twitter feed, and the occasional non-UK internet feeds, it's sometimes me that keeps them up to date!
  23. We get pretty well served over the net these days. Saw the Killie game online live this season, and can watch the BBC Alba broadcasts online too. Then I download a Sportscene torrent every week. So get to stay reasonably close to the action (or as close as telly/internet can allow). With the use of proxies, I can access the BBC Scotland live commentaries too, but I don't enjoy those as much and sometimes give them a miss. A few years ago, we used to get SPL games on American telly too, but that doesn't happen any more. I used to try to get to a couple of games a season at Fir Park, but haven't managed that so much recently.
  24. We definitely have the players to play counterattacking football away from home, so I'm never surprised to hear the home team has more possession. It sounds like we made better chances, though, and making (and taking) chances is the name of the game.

From what McCall has been saying it sounds like Higdon has been suffering from injuries and still a bit behind the rest of the team in fitness. Haven't seen today's highlights, but in the other games I've seen (albeit on telly) he seems to have put in a decent shift and had some nice touches around the box. Will take a little time for him to strike up an understanding with his new team mates. Remember the slow start Jutkiewicz got off to, but he turned out OK.
