  1. I never bother reading the OF reports, but I doubt they are any more accurate. The BBC has trouble recognising Scotland on the map (and I include half of BBC Scotland in that observation).
  2. And so the stereotype of students being too lazy to even scroll through a thread and/or unable to read continues to be reinforced. And no, I'm not bitter just because I had to work a summer job to buy my non-discounted season ticket when I was a student.
  3. I had 'The Lip' in the sweep for the first poster to respond on this thread. Apparently I win a Mars Bar.
  4. Was that the day before the CIS Cup Final?
  5. The "bag of matchball" transfers is why UEFA implemented the rule - to help fund the investment at grass roots level. Unfortunately, it looks like they have gone to the other extreme and, in this case at least, hampered the prospects of the amateurs.
  6. +1 on that. After 41 seasons of following this mob, any year we don't get relegated is never a really bad one!
  7. Nobody said we can't. We're just not assuming we bring in a player or two and keep Randolph and Murphy. So for now, it's too early to tell. If we could guarantee our starting 11 on the pitch every week, we'd have a great chance, but it's very much a squad game, and we still lack depth.
  8. Hassebaink scored 3 times for Accies in 27 games. He's a decent enough player, but so are most strikers in the SPL. Inevitably, a striker for another team will score a goal against us. It's no big deal. I'm sure St. Mirren are worried about Higdon and Murphy and I'm more confident they will score than Hasselbaink (even if he does win his appeal).
  9. Neither of the examples you quote were anything to do with standing (safe or otherwise). Hillsborough was caused by (potentially criminal) negligent police crowd control and the Cup Final was due in large part to drunkeness. So at least bolster your case with some relevant supporting evidence. You don't need to worry about losing your wee plastic seat just because some standing areas are introduced. You'll still have the choice to sit through a game with your knees on your chin and your neighbour's elbow in your ribs.
  10. If it's been 6 years, then you must have other reasons beyond the 3 Lions. Maybe, if Scotland ever managed to get to the World Cup finals someone would sponsor us too.
  11. What if the majority of fans wanted the rules changed? What if the Chairmen of the clubs wanted the rules changed? What if Members of Parliament wanted the rules changed?
  12. Far too soon to tell. We need to see where we stand depth-wise after the transfer window closes. The SPL is a long, hard season and if we have to be throwing 19 year olds into the team in January then we can expect some inconsistency. Great to get some early points on the board, though. It's a much easier game when your winning.

    Big Hutchie

This was posted on Twitter just before kick-off: "Hutchinson missing after picking up a heavy knock in training this week"

    Any Links?

You needed a different tin for that question.
  15. "The Falkirk" - for people who think they will be sitting at the top table, but are denied by a last minute vote of the other top table guests.
  16. The imagination shown by Aberdeen's extensive scouting network continues to impress.
  17. Sorry mate. I thought the vote was a intended to be a serious discussion that reflected our opinion on the actual options available to the club. I don't believe I handed out any insults, questioned anyone's intelligence or indicated anyone was a pleb, but feel free to point out where I did and I'll happily apologize.
  18. Introducing the realities of our financial situation is hardly being pedantic. We'd all love to be playing in a shiny new, multi-purpose, 100 million pound stadium. The reality is that we're much more likely to end up with a flat-pack St. Mirren type effort. That's why I voted to stay at Fir Park. If someone can show me a nice new stadium that's within our budget I'm more than happy to reconsider.
  19. There is if it makes some fans think that moving to Ravenscraig (or wherever) would mean moving into a shiny new stadium like that. When, in reality, we'd be looking at the Skoda end of the market.
  20. That stadium cost 105 million to build. We'd be struggling to afford one tenth of that.
  21. It's no' very anti-establishment advertising it on Facebook.
  22. I agree he's a wally, but I don't think he dislikes Motherwell.
  23. I'm just wondering if the players have been paid yet.
  24. Admit it. You lifted that quote from Craig Thomson's Facebook page.
