  1. Defintely no falling out with Robinson to see here. Move along.
  2. It's not really a B team though; it was mostly our youth development side including a few players who have just signed their first pro contract. EDIT: well_said beat me to it.
  3. Mo Salah was considered a dud at Chelsea. As others have said, you just never know. What we do know is that a club like ours can't afford to sign a proven goalscorer guaranteed to hit 20 a season. Our business model is developing academy prospects or developing younger players that coaches think might have something. I have always enjoyed watching our players improve. It's part of supporting a club like ours. Slagging them off is the anthesis of "giving youth a chance" and 23 is still on the younger end of the scale.
  4. If SK thinks he can make a player out of him I'll put more faith in that than the opinions of a few punters on here. Of course the usual suspects will be slagging him off before he touches a ball, but no change there. You can't directly replace a player like van Veen. You have to set up differently and look for goals from different parts of the team. Still looking forward though to steelboy's suggestions on strikers that meet his criteria that are available for us to sign.
  5. Even the report in that link says it's all guesswork
  6. I'd be fine if we start the season with a back 3 of Casey, Mugabi and Blaney. I'd argue positional awareness is very much something you can coach, but it's easier if you play in the same position every week rather than the full back, centre back, wing back, striker positions we've asked Bevis to play in his rare starting appearances. I agree Lamie and Mugabi in the same 3 doesn't seem to work.
  7. A good run in the Championship with a team that should be pushing hard for the title is certainly a good place for him to be. Then it will be up to him if he Shanklands it or Watts it.
  8. Raith Rovers would send half this place into meltdown.
  9. Our luck with Cup draws in the old format used to involve drawing teams like Queens Park in a two leg tie and losing 4 - 1 at Fir Park. By the time the groups have played out and you reach the last 16 there is about a 50% chance on average you'll draw a Premiership team if you are seeded and nearly a 100% chance you'll draw a Premiership team if you're unseeded. The opportunity to play the "lesser" teams is baked into the composition of the groups. It's just the nature of the competition these days. My favourite format was the single leg knockout approach where every match was decided on the day (or night) and the final was in November. That avoided the meaningless group games and made it worthwhile for away fans to turn up.
  10. The only reason the seeding exists in the League Cup is to keep Rangers and Celtic apart as much as possible. Otherwise it's a bit of a joke. Still fancy us in the next round, though.
  11. We did take the risk on Moult. It didn't work out.
  12. I'm still laughing at that time you accused me of not getting joy out of anything. If what you post is how you really feel, then football probably isn't the spectator sport for you. Maybe something like basketball would be more up your street.
  13. Methil no more. Take your pick...
  14. It is, but we've had our fair share of strikers who can score for fun against lower league teams and struggle in Premeirship games.
  15. Loves a cup goal against a lower league team.
  16. Just as well it's not in front of a big crowd on live TV in a meaningful game against a club desperate for win fielding an ex-player coming back to haunt us.
  17. I've been enjoying the commentator. From sclaffs to "Sunday Post dives" he's been quite entertaining.
  18. This one didn't even make it to half time.
  19. I had my internet upgraded this week from a dodgy, slow, cuts-out-15-times-a-day connection to a 2GB fibre connection. Really looking forward to... checks notes .... the low bit rate audio stream.
  20. I believe the club streams the BBC, BT Sport(TNT) or Sky live feed being sent back to the studio. If Viaplay doesn't have a live feed at Fir Park then we're out of luck.
  21. He's taking flak because he slagged off those very same players when we signed them (Higdon being a classic example, but there are many others). He also complains about the level of every player we sign and points out we should be signing much higher quality without ever providing a single example of any player we could have signed that meets those criteria. It's pointless, boring and a pretty tired trope for every player we sign to be labelled as useless before they even turn up at Fir Park. "It's all about opinions" is why climate change deniers still get air time on TV and some people in the US still think Trump is president. Sometimes wrong is just wrong and trolling is just trolling.
