  1. Indeed. With no Accies, that will likely mean a St. Mirren or Killie New Year 'derby' - which never felt quite right to me.
  2. So if he wasn't going to miss the game why were you flapping you gums about how worried you were he'd miss the game?
  3. You could have given him your ticket anyway, like a good son.
  4. I hope we don't start implementing a "Motherwell Supporters Only" policy with our squad. I doubt Tom Boyd was thinking much about Celtic when he lifted his first senior trophy above his head in '91. Who cares what he did after that?
  5. It's no coincidence that I'm getting my internet upgraded on Wednesday so, hopfeully, I'll be able to take advantage of a high quality stream. So plan will be a couple of rolls and square sausage for breakfast. Not too exciting, but can't wait.
  6. So what are the figures quoted for the finances they are kindly donating to the First division? What is the source of all this extra revenue? If Falkirk QoS etc. need a hand, how about including them in an expanded SPL and distributing the income more evenly? How about reducing the likelihood teams are relegated so that the product on the field can be more expansive instead of 'park the bus'? The 10-team SPL is for the benefit of the OF by scheduling one more bigot extravaganza each season, and allowing them a couple of lucrative extra exhibition games. It has nothing to do with entertaining the punters coming through the gates and even less to do with improving the quality of the product.
  7. Barcelona average attendance: 76,176 Man Utd. average attendance: 75, 486 Celtic average attendance: 47,874 Motherwell average attendance: 5,319 I'm happy to argue that we should receive a 50/50 split for many reasons, but number of fans who attend (season tickets or not) probably isn't a good starting point.
  8. Same concern as me. A different sport I know, but in the American football over here, it's not unusual for teams to struggle the game after they have a bye-week - and we seem to be having 2 or 3. Celtic are having to fight to keep their title hopes alive and keeping a competitive edge until the last ball of the season is kicked. We are playing a dangerous game.
  9. A point yesterday (from a team we have had in our back pocket recently) and a home win against Killie would more than likely have seen us in 5th. Hardly an uphill struggle.
  10. Hopefully, you'll do the decent thing and sell (or donate) your ticket to a Motherwell fan who wants to go to the game.
  11. I don't see how getting into a losing habit can be good preparation for the final. Of course, if we win, it will have been worth it, but for me we are more likely to win if we play with a competitive edge in the run up. We didn't mess about in '91 - in fact, from memory, we only lost once or twice during the last quarter of the season.
  12. Ticket prices should be proportionate to the effort the players are planning in putting into this game. Which, based on the last couple of matches, means anyone who turns up will be handed a fistful of tenners.
  13. Brucie Cleland used to play 13.
  14. Or maybe he was just joking that he was being rested so 'ran the show' from the touchline by putting some of the guys through their paces.
  15. That's because no amount of clarification could explain how reducing the number of teams to 10 would be a step towards a larger league.
  16. Gary Mac, Andy Walker, Willie Irvine, Ally Mauchlen, Shuggie Sproat, Brian McLaughlin
  17. Vic Davidson, Bobby Graham, Jumbo Muir, Kirkie Lawson, Peter Millar, Gregor Stevens, Keith McRae, Peter Marinello

    Quiz Part 2

John Gardiner never lost a goal in Europe. Fact.
  19. I'm hoping they will be selling season tickets for Motherwell TV.

    Craig Brown

A lawyer will use the legal approach most likely to win. No need to bother with assembling a more detailed defence if the case has been filed too late.
  21. No chance. The guy has been hiding for most of his career and only performs when the cameras are on him.

    A Quiz

So the "non-football sense" answer was about Celtic. That's a bit too clever for me.
  23. Hope the youngsters listen to the advice above as it comes from a man with considerable Shed experience. A good song is one you can pick up in 10 seconds; even if you have never heard it before.
  24. Less frost and snow at that location too, I imagine.

    A Quiz

The crowds for John Greig's last 4 games as Ranger's manager? The number of pies eaten by 'Flow in the last 4 seasons? The number of OF mentions in 4 randomly selected articles about Motherwell?
