I'm in the camp that finds them cringe worthy and pointless. I don't see the need to wave any national flags at a domestic competition (even the Saltires). First we make the final. Then we think about coming over No idea if I would be able to make it this time around. Was lucky enough to be at the '91 final and unlucky enough to be at the CIS final so while I'd obviously love to be at Hampden again this season, I would be okay with watching on the internet. The CIS final was the worst for many reasons. I had booked a week's holiday off work to come back for the game. A few days beforehand, my boss asked me if I could travel to Hong Kong for a month to work on a project there.
