  1. Imagine what it must be like on the Accies forums.
  2. I had wiped that one from memory. I was talking about a game when Ally MacLeod was the boss and we were floating around in the first division. The 79/80 Season, I think, when Raith beat us 5 - 2.
  3. If you have never seen us get turned over by Raith Rovers for 5 goals at Starks Park then you have no idea the meaning of "Most Shameful Display Ever". Despite what many people like to pretend, Rangers (and Celtic) are good teams who will beat us most games and completely destroy us in a few.
  4. We were on a slide before McCall - that's why Broon legged it. Didn't have the stomach for a rebuilding job - same as McGhee.
  5. Do the bookies even offer odds on us conceding at Ibrox in the first 10 minutes? They'd lose their shirts.
  6. Even more fun before the cage. It was just a few polis with their dogs keeping the mayhem at bay.
  7. Fair enough, but do they get a look in when it comes to Motherwell?
  8. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it's a tougher call for the oldies as we have seen the level of national excitement a World Cup Finals can generate. It's tough call though because Motherwell has been the day-to-day focus of my footballing interest for many years. If I was forced to choose, I think a successful Scotland campaign might just shade it.
  9. The entire premise of the thread was ridiculous, but it still managed to get a few bites.
  10. That was during his second spell (after he had been trained by Rangers). First time around he was a cracking player.
  11. Not worried yet. I expected Stranraer to get it up us in the first half - as they should. I'm optmistic we can step it up in the 2nd period and score a couple.
  12. You are wrong. He was on a 10 match (I believe) deal in Autralia which both parties wanted to extend. However, they couldn't agree on terms, so Jeffers moved on.
  13. If he wasn't coming cheap he'd be nowhere near Fir Park.
  14. I said this in a different thread, but if there are a few hundred flares and smoke bombs going off, it can look quite impressive. If there are one or two going off, it just looks like a couple of weans with a banger. Definitely not cool.
  15. So you are open to giving him time, but judging him already? After he has had a chance to bring in a few players over the summer will be the time to judge. Right now, his job is to tie up the loose ends left by Broon (and win us the Scottish Cup
  16. The Duke had scored about 5 goals in 5 years before he joined us too.
  17. Because, of course, the devices are being used by people with enough sense not to do anything stupid with them. I wouldn't trust half of those guys with a Swan Vesta.

Grella. The fact that it fell through doesn't negate the point that not only did he spend a considerable amount of time looking for a striker he found one willing to join the club. Something you accused him of failing to do.

Apart from signing one, you mean.
  20. Welcome to the world of the ex-pat/exile.
  21. He's in the huff after his rumoured 'dream move' to Rangers didn't work out
  22. You don't need to be Platini, no. However, if you are just humping the ball up the park to the opposition it doesn't relieve the pressure on the defence and makes it less likely you will keep a clean sheet. All the great, and most of the good, teams have defenders sufficiently comfortable on the ball that they can at least find a man in space when required. It's a sad indictment on the Scottish game when the basic ability to pass a ball is not seen as a necessary skill for a player. Of course there are times when a safety-first approach is needed, but I don't remember Joe Wark (for example) having trouble finding a man when he was setting up an attack.
  23. Not anymore. Match abandoned!
  24. Spot on. I was happy to see Brown take the club through to the end of his first season. Was not too happy that he came back. Harsh. But true.
  25. Which striker, for how long, and for how much?
