  1. That doesn't endear you to the substantial number of 'Well (and Scottish) fans who favour the 'in aboot them' style of play and turn beetroot at the very thought of making consecutive numbers of passes in the double digit range.
  2. No pelters from me. While I'm generally not in favour of Directors of Football or whatever, I think Gannon at the helm with a Craig Brown figure to advise along the way, might have worked out well for us. (If Gannon's ego didn't get in the way). I said at the time Brown was appointed that I thought it was an excellent short term idea, but wasn't convinced it was ideal for the longer term. It's still early days in this season's SPL, so I'm still pretty open minded about it. Open minded, but not yet convinced.

    Russell Rodger

Aye, I had a tour courtesy of Russell and he took good care of us.
  4. The day we start playing like Hearts is the day I stop watching.
  5. Motherwell fans (and neutrals) did not have a 'duty' to do anything. They were paying customers, not conscripted squaddies. The Main Stand as always been where the less vocal members of the crowd sit, wrap their tartan rugs round their knees and drink soup from their Thermos flasks. They pay their hard earned like anyone else, and if they want to spend the game nattering about Charlie Aitken, then that is their right. Alienating any fans because they don't conform to a particular way of thinking is a shortsighted view for a club of our size to endorse.
  6. Nah, just a clip round the ear and the removal of his Kwenchy Kup.
  7. Sounds like learning from your mistakes - which is a good thing.
  8. I fear the worst, but hope for the best. Pretty much the same as every week
  9. Then the question is "Who are these players?" If they exist, and they want to play for Motherwell, I'm sure we would have snapped them up.
  10. If you are professional enough to pull all the time wasting stunts, you should be professional enough to not be put off by them. The bottom line is that, regardless of the Odense antics, we gave away a soft goal and created enough opportunities to win the next 2 games. We need to address that, and trying to blame the opposition is the mentality of a losing team.
  11. This is Motherwell. We could have brought in 3 new players against that team and still lost one-nil. You just can't mortgage the future of the club on something like that.
  12. Does this mean you'll have enough spare dosh to fix your Shift key?
  13. Unfortunately true. We should have been out of sight against Hibs too in the first half. We've been lacking an edge in front of goals.
  14. I'm all for inspirational speeches, but playing against the Springboks pack is a wee bit more daunting than passing a ball about with some Danes. At this stage, the players should be so wound up and, hopefully well prepared, that I'd just be inclined to give them a quick "go out there an play your game" and let them get on with it.
  15. I'm looking forward to it, but not nearly as nervous as I was when I was climbing up the steps at Hampden in 1991.
  16. Didn't St. Mirren manage that against Hammerby? They drew 3 - 3 away from home and went 1 - 0 in the return leg. With about 3 minutes remaining, they managed to concede 2 goals (and have a 3rd disallowed) and lose the tie 5 - 4.
  17. I think it's the latter part of that paragraph that should be of more concern (assuming it's accurate).
  18. I know what you mean. I'm not sure whether I'd prefer us to score early, in which case Odense would have to open up a bit in the knowledge they needed another goal, or to keep at 0 - 0 and grab a goal in the last 5 minutes - by which time we'd all be basket cases.
  19. Immediate problems, perhaps. Remember though that we only have Blackman on a 6 month loan and Casagolda on a 1 year deal. If we could secure a player like Gow on a 2 or 3 year deal it would give us longer term stability.
  20. As was said in the "Ins & Outs" thread, he could be a creative midfield option. The way it is reported in the ET makes it sound more than a rumour.
  21. Evening Times is reporting Motherwell are one of three clubs interested in Alan Gow who is holding talks with Craig Brown today.
  22. Aye, excellent result for a game in the middle of a Euro tie - especially with a squad of our size. You just need to look at the Dundee Utd (or Aston Villa) result to see how easy it is to get stuffed in a match like this.
  23. The direct YouTube link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z36VHwpuJC8...player_embedded That should work for you.
  24. Thanks, my friend. Nice find.
