  1. No thanks. I don't expect us to win the league any time soon, so if there isn't any entertainment on offer, what's the point?
  2. Poor attempt. At least put a wee bit of effort in.
  3. That's the real problem, though. 10,000 Ultras + 50 flares = atmosphere. 5 kids + a packet of bangers = a bunch of weans with bangers.
  4. From today's Scotland on Sunday. If the latest harebrained scheme from the SFA is enforced, Fir Park would need to be made level.
  5. Nah, they even changed that rule to make sure Driver got in. It started off as 5 years in schools, but when they discovered that he had spent less that 5 years there, they changed it to "in the Scottish education system", so some cookery classes that Driver took at night school, or whatever, when he was a player at Hearts suddenly made him eligible.
  6. That wasn't my point. I was responding to your comment that if he was international class, why did Swansea only offer 200k. The answer is because they thought they could get him on the cheap - a bit like Accies with their offer for Murphy last year, or Rangers when they tried to get Skippy on the cheap. Motherwell obviously rate Reynolds higher than that (maybe even international class) so won't sell him cut price.
  7. Surely, if he wasn't international class, we would have accepted it.
  8. By a country mile. "Scandalous" is an overused word these days, but it was absolutely scandalous that he never won a cap.
  9. But from a season ticket perspective, don't Man U make you buy tickets for all the diddy League Cup games and the like, even if you don't plan to attend?
  10. You might like good football, and I certainly do, but I have been at Fir Park often enough to hear a fairly substantial portion of the crowd scream at guys like Gary McAllister and Brian McLair for not running fast enough and not tackling hard enough. Any skilful player we field will attract a thread on here 5 mins after kick-off about how lazy/slow/blowing-out-their-arse they are. It's not everybody that does this, but if it's a minority it's a fairly substantial one. McGhee was taking pelters during his second season for lack of Plan B and tactical naivety.
  11. That doesn't endear you to the substantial number of 'Well (and Scottish) fans who favour the 'in aboot them' style of play and turn beetroot at the very thought of making consecutive numbers of passes in the double digit range.
  12. No pelters from me. While I'm generally not in favour of Directors of Football or whatever, I think Gannon at the helm with a Craig Brown figure to advise along the way, might have worked out well for us. (If Gannon's ego didn't get in the way). I said at the time Brown was appointed that I thought it was an excellent short term idea, but wasn't convinced it was ideal for the longer term. It's still early days in this season's SPL, so I'm still pretty open minded about it. Open minded, but not yet convinced.

    Russell Rodger

Aye, I had a tour courtesy of Russell and he took good care of us.
  14. The day we start playing like Hearts is the day I stop watching.
  15. Motherwell fans (and neutrals) did not have a 'duty' to do anything. They were paying customers, not conscripted squaddies. The Main Stand as always been where the less vocal members of the crowd sit, wrap their tartan rugs round their knees and drink soup from their Thermos flasks. They pay their hard earned like anyone else, and if they want to spend the game nattering about Charlie Aitken, then that is their right. Alienating any fans because they don't conform to a particular way of thinking is a shortsighted view for a club of our size to endorse.
  16. Nah, just a clip round the ear and the removal of his Kwenchy Kup.
  17. Sounds like learning from your mistakes - which is a good thing.
  18. I fear the worst, but hope for the best. Pretty much the same as every week
  19. Then the question is "Who are these players?" If they exist, and they want to play for Motherwell, I'm sure we would have snapped them up.
  20. If you are professional enough to pull all the time wasting stunts, you should be professional enough to not be put off by them. The bottom line is that, regardless of the Odense antics, we gave away a soft goal and created enough opportunities to win the next 2 games. We need to address that, and trying to blame the opposition is the mentality of a losing team.
  21. This is Motherwell. We could have brought in 3 new players against that team and still lost one-nil. You just can't mortgage the future of the club on something like that.
  22. Does this mean you'll have enough spare dosh to fix your Shift key?
  23. Unfortunately true. We should have been out of sight against Hibs too in the first half. We've been lacking an edge in front of goals.
  24. I'm all for inspirational speeches, but playing against the Springboks pack is a wee bit more daunting than passing a ball about with some Danes. At this stage, the players should be so wound up and, hopefully well prepared, that I'd just be inclined to give them a quick "go out there an play your game" and let them get on with it.
