  1. Jim Bett, the (Rangers) Ferguson clan and Stephen Wright at Aberdeen were the pick of the bunch at my school. I came up against Ally Maxwell a few times in BB competitions, although in those days he often played as a striker.

    Jim O Brien

Why? He's not a 14 year old lassie.

    Man Utd

The history books will show Motherwell 1 - 0 Manchester Utd XI. Even most non-sports fans know what an "XI" represents. Glad we got a decent workout on an off-weekend though.
  4. Sent over 15 quid (plus a quid to cover any Paypal foreign currency conversion fees).

    Supporters Trust?

That might work. There is a good cross section of fans on here, we get the official club line on issues from 'Flow, and we have the option to run polls on anything and everything.

    Supporters Trust?

If nobody likes him why not just vote him out?
  7. Another style which includes winning the play-off final at Wembley.
  8. Seeing as the entire exercise of relaying the pitch was to avoid a repeat of the problems we had last winter, I imagine that it will fare okay.

    The Squad

After all the rebuilding we have had to do, 7th would be a decent achievement this season.
  10. He said that 'Well is 'punching above its weight'. I hate hearing that phrase. This is football - if we have talented players that play to the best of their ability we will win games. "Punching above your weight" suggests that you are performing at a higher than your talent should allow.
  11. That's the main thing. Last time he talked about transfers he said he was going to bring in a striker and a right back, and he has delivered again.
  12. I think the deal is they need to be signed before 5pm and have the paperwork sent to the SFA or FA before midnight. It doesn't matter if it's processed later than that.

    Signing #7

He does indeed. Apparently he maintains a detailed list of players for each position that he uses to keep tabs on them through their playing careers.
  14. I'm glad somebody picked up on that.
  15. Home to Accies would by my choice.
  16. They'll have more to spend when McArthur goes later today
  17. They'll need to offer more than they did for Murphy.
  18. It doesn't have to be financial, and it doesn't even have to mean the guy isn't regarded as a good player. He might just not fit in with the system that JG likes to play. All speculation of course.
  19. Aye but that's football manager speak. "Highly unlikely" means "We are talking to at least 3 other players".

    Yesterdays Chants

Why do you need to be fainthearted to think there was some reputational damage done to the club? Are you not jumping on the bandwagon by saying 'the references to child abuse were not excusable'? Or is your dissent somehow more independent and brave?
  21. When JG came on board, Boyle said he was giving him a budget for Bosmans and small transfer fees. So I presume that this falls under "small".

    Yesterdays Chants

If a journo says they heard it, how do you prove otherwise?

    Yesterdays Chants

First paper I read this morning. Seems to be some interest there. You can call it double standards all you like, but the media loves bad publicity for clubs like ours - deserved or not.
