  1. Pretty much in line with his earlier comments about short term plans, long terms plans, needing a few fresh faces etc. His track record for bringing in new players has been excellent, so no worries there. I'm more concerned about which loanees he manages to keep.
  2. The Scotsman reckons Forbes might be in line for a place in the U-19s against Germany. Does he still qualify for that teasm?
  3. I think the Airdrie replay was the worst one for me.

We didn't have this social media malarky when I was a lad. Only email, news groups, mailing lists, IRC, bulletin boards and web sites Is there going to much difference between the Facebook content and the 'fishul site?
  5. Aye, that's a shame. When I lived in Hamilton, I always enjoyed the Accies game. A whole load of us ('Well & Accies fans) would walk down to Douglas Park and stand together on the terraces. Made it even more important to win.
  6. I seem to remember the travelling support going a bit mental when Paul Mills scored the last gasp winner at East End Park. Not nearly as important as some of the other goals mentioned here, but it felt like it at the time.
  7. After the Accies game we will have played everybody the league once. Even if all the results go against us, the lowest position we can be is 5th. That's not a bad showing while we are still very much in the early stages of rebuilding.
  8. I know in recent games Coke has come in for some criticism due to his comparitive lack of form. Then I read this on the 'fishul site and was suitably impressed: I don't recall any posters coming up with this reason for the problems Giles was having It just goes to show that fans (and I include myself here) are often pretty clueless about the game at this level of detail. Of course we can see when something goes wrong, but I doubt many of us spotted the attempted Milan formation - far less contemplated the finer points of the 'construction phase'.
  9. Separate alarm clocks are one of the keys to a happy relationship. They don't teach you things like that at school. At least you caught a decent amount of the game.
  10. Shouldn't you be bantering on an Accies board tonight?
  11. The Polish guy has been on the bench most weeks, so presumably he is the current 2nd choice. Was Fraser not having some sort of injury problems? Or has that all cleared up.
  12. Easiest way is to go to the SPL page on the Beeb, and there is a list of match links on the right. You'll need a proxy this week though as it is a UK only job.
  13. Comfortable win for us by a 2 goal margin. The kids in the team have bouncebackability (as Sir Alex like to call it) and will take it to them straight from kick off.
  14. I think it depends if it really is lack of fight, or just a refusal to panic. JG has said on a number of occasions that he is trying to introduce a framework (based on passing) that lets the players express themselves. He has also said how he wants his players to stick to that, and keep playing football to try and create chances. There is a danger that when you start taking digs back at the opposition you lose your discipline and shape - which is exactly what they want.
  15. Did you feck off after their 3rd on Saturday?
  16. I know what you mean, but in 4-5-1 the striker shouldn't really be having to track back. What's the point of overloading the midfield if you still need your only outlet up front to keep coming back to help? Five men (plus support from the full backs) should be more than plenty to get the ball moving from midfield.
  17. I see that as the opposite problem i.e the midfield support is too far away from him. I agree we should keep playing him though. It seems like he is still improving. Unfortunately, with the injury situation at Everton, I think he might improve just enough to get recalled at the end of his loan deal.
  18. I think that's the key. Playing 4-5-1 successfully (or whatever variant you choose) is heavily dependent on the midfield being in close support when we attack. A lone striker can only hold the ball for so long before he needs to pass.
  19. Nah, people just remember the duff performances more. We have had plenty of good wins in the cups too.
  20. The Cowdenbeath game was 1976. For some reason we took the whole town over and ran out 2 - 0 winners. I remember Marinello having a stormer that day.
  21. If I had known the options were really 1 point or getting papped oot the cup, I wouldn't have voted
  22. It's a genuine indicator of what we said at the start of the season. When you have a team full of youngsters you are going to get some performances that are excellent and some that are poor. What you won't get is as much consistency as you might like.
  23. Well away and post aw yir wee smileys on Ferguslie Corner, because yir patter is honking. I can see why they keep ye Faraway.
