I think that's definitely part of it. Like steelboy mentioned, in the prior year we sold Reynolds. McCall said in a recent interview on MFC TV that when he took the job he was told to sell one player a season. I imagine for most clubs our size that can be the difference between profit and loss at the end of a financial year.

When Jon Corzine was the CEO of Goldman Sachs he was responsible for taking them public. After all the processes has been put in place to sell the shares and a date set for the IPO, he had to push it back because of the economic downturn.
If those guys can get it wrong, it's not inconceivable that MFC might get it wrong too.
