  1. I said what I said. I don't think you can infer 'rather successful' from those league stats. I'm seriously interested what criteria are being used by Luc's supporters that make him favourite.
  2. I have posted the stats here before, and I would dispute 'rather successful' based on league positions at least. First year - 16th Second year - 10th Third Year - 14th And never managed to get them into any playoffs (which is a lot easier in the Dutch second division if you read how it is structured; they play 6 game mini-leagues). Given this is a 20 team league, this is approximately equivalent to finishing 10th, 6th and 8th in the SPL. Given the outcry when we finished 7th this season, can you imagine the moaning if 6th was our best finish in the next 3 years? And all this was in the second division too.
  3. Terrible enough to keep beating us, mind.
  4. And if he scores the goals that get us to the group stage of the Europa, he will generate plenty of cash for the club too.
  5. It's no problem at all. He is under contract. If the board doesn't want to sell, they just say "naw".
  6. There are more experienced managers than there are jobs. I have no doubt that if experience is what JB wants, that is what we will get.
  7. Put it this way. Ronaldo isn't 80 times better than Clarky, so he must be worth at least 1 million.
  8. Any decent manager will see us as a way to further their prospects with bigger clubs. While we have ended a few managerial careers too, it was never intentional.
  9. He's an international, has a year left on his contract and was the top scorer outside Rangers/Celtic last year. Based on other transfer fees this close season (like Johnson to Liverpool for 18.5 million) he is easily worth 1 million. As a player, he is nothing like Rosco. He is a forward who will run himself into the ground for 90 minutes and always plays for the team. Just keep setting him up and you'll likely get a decent goal return.
  10. I don't know about that. There are a few Motherwell season ticket holders that post on here who are pretty clueless about our club.
  11. Director of Football positions never work in Britain. And, to be honest, if someone like Gary Mac was manager, I'm not sure why we would need one - he's not short on experience.
  12. What is his track record in this repsect? I haven't read anything to back that up. I'm not saying it's wrong - I'm just curious as to what he has achieved on that front.

That's one more birthday than the queen, ya flash git.
  14. Whether you want Macca or not, it's pretty obvious that when he says Motherwell are his team, he means that we are the club that started his career in the game, and as a result, a club that he has some affection for. What team he supported as a boy is irrelevant to that quote.
  15. You beat me to it Al (and funnier than my post would have been too).
  16. Just because he played that way at Fulham (in a bid to keep them in the EPL over the course of a few games) doesn't mean he can't play other styles. Having said that, with the names mentioned, I'd still be more interested in Gary Mac or Luc. What this does show, however, is that there are always people queuing up for manager jobs; even in the SPL.
  17. That would be an interesting shout. There's no doubt he did a decent job with the NI squad and good to hear that it's the 'love of the game' that keeps him motivated - because he's not going to make his fortune with us.

    Monday Email

You got one from Aberdeen because Mcghee swooped for the Motherwell email addresses and, as none of you were under contract, Flow could do nothing to stop him.

    Mcghee Era

It took Tommy more than one season to do that, though. Not that I would argue over who was the better manager, mind, because I think we agree there.

    Mcghee Era

This is what his agent said 2 months ago. ""Maros is keeping his options open for next season and that could also include staying at Motherwell." Hardly a commitment.
  21. Ah, so the two of them are being interviewed at JB's hoose as we speak

And, of course, he said he wanted to stay if an appropriate deal could be made. Not that he would turn down better offers to stay.
