I saw McGhee quoted as having an "agreement" with Boyle about these things. I would guess part of his improved deal included being able to talk to certain teams about job openings should the opportunity arise.

I really don't care if a manager is a "Motherwell man". McLean and McGhee weren't and have, for me, done well. Davie Hay was another guy who did a good job and Butcher managed our time going through administration exceptionally well. If we do need a new boss, give me someone with a good CV any day of the week.

I thought Sheridan has made a decent contribution in his last few games, and that is what I'd expect from a youngster joining a new team i.e. improvement after he has been around his new team mates for a while. If he continued that improvement, I'd be happy to see him back next season.
