  1. Actually, there was an interview with Brown in one of the papers recently where he said he'd be happy to come out of retirement.
  2. Read this in The Guardian today: I wonder if the Scottish footballing authorites were smart enough to insist on the shareholder guarantees.
  3. There are more decent managers than there are jobs. Of course there are also more bad managers than there are jobs. As long as we go for one of the decent ones, I don't really care who it is. It's that simple
  4. I wouldn't dismiss Nijholt out of hand, but according to Wiki, if you look at Telstar's league stats during his reign they are, at best, less than average.
  5. That made me laugh when I read it in the Evening Times today. Still, at least he didn't blame it on trauma from poor refereeing decisions.
  6. Porter would never get a pass from the other 3
  7. The Daily Mail, however, is just P&B for fascists.
  8. So you have seen a signed contract and the counter offer Burnley have made to him? Or are you just working off the BBC news story, Scotsman news story and Herald news story from earlier that says he will likely be unveiled as manager by Friday?
  9. Not even first on this board mate.
  10. I'd be up for it again next season. It's a cheap way to sponsor a player and a chance to get your hands on a shirt.

Aye, sorry. I was really responding to Neil's comment: I don't think the fans input will have much influence on a decision like this, but no harm in throwing it out there.

I think a poll is irrelevant. We will end up at a ground based on who is willing to accommodate us, cost and who has a UEFA certificate.

    Orange? That's amber ya heathen!
  14. If we lose Smith and Hughes, promote a couple of our youngsters and bring in 2 new players we will be in decent shape for a top 6 challenge.
  15. When Malpas left, Gary Mac said he wasn't interested in managing a team with resources as limited as ours. Considering we will likely have less now than we had then (thanks to the new pitch), I doubt he would be interested.
  16. I saw McGhee quoted as having an "agreement" with Boyle about these things. I would guess part of his improved deal included being able to talk to certain teams about job openings should the opportunity arise.
  17. I really don't care if a manager is a "Motherwell man". McLean and McGhee weren't and have, for me, done well. Davie Hay was another guy who did a good job and Butcher managed our time going through administration exceptionally well. If we do need a new boss, give me someone with a good CV any day of the week.
  18. I thought Sheridan has made a decent contribution in his last few games, and that is what I'd expect from a youngster joining a new team i.e. improvement after he has been around his new team mates for a while. If he continued that improvement, I'd be happy to see him back next season.
  19. If the Hearts fans have a decent turn out, and don't turn their backs on the game, then the sponsors will not be crawling back anywhere near Fir Park for next year.
  20. Or they might have the day off.
  21. Paul Lambert. You heard it hear first
  22. And finish above you in the league (again).

Where's the *shakes heid* smiley when you need it?
  24. If it's between us and St. Midden, it won't be an issue. We'll manage to find some way to cheat ourselves in.
