  1. Lucky for him the SPL doesn't insist on 4 stands.
  2. With our support? Quite a few. Even wee Tommy was hated for a long time by a section of our support.
  3. If we played 4-4-2 we could give them a half-decent game. However, we'd probably play some weird 3-7-0 formation and lose by 3.

Of course they biased. They are in the business of selling newspapers. So the Glasgow media's biggest market is the OF, and the Edinburgh media's biggest market is Hearts/Hibs. We get served by the Motherwell Times, Hamilton Advertiser and Tam Cowan.
  5. There's a lot of pyschology involved. I remember Jack Nicklaus saying that when he heard players complaining about a golf course the day before a tournament he could discount them as challengers. It's similar thing here. Sure, the pitch is bad and you will get some bad bounces, but as one of the papers pointed out today, a lot of the problems are down to poor technique from the players. Have a look at beach football on Youtube to see what decent players can do on a rutted sandy surface.

Slightly off topic, but that is the most useless rule ever invented. Has anybody *ever* been penalised for going over 6 seconds. Who times it - the linesman?
  7. And as long as they take the same attitude, hilarity ensues.

Looked like a booking when I was watching it on the telly.
  9. Well, the fact that FC Schalke has a much bigger catchment area doesn't do their attendances much harm either.
  10. Aye, like I said at half-time, I though he did okay. One or two mistakes (including at least one handball against Samaras that looked quesionable), but nothing that changed the result. No idea what he is like on a night out, but I have a mate that is a cop, and he is a riot. He works in the drug squad right enough.

Only saw the game on telly, and I know that doesn't always give a fair reflection of play, so I didn't actually vote. Was impressed by Klimpl, but thought O'Brien just shaded it.
  12. And today's rise into the top 6 shows there is still plenty to play for.
  13. Aye, another game added to our unbeaten SPL run, and coming back from a goal behind. A good day at the office.
  14. That's been on the cards for a while.
  15. I think Brines has done mostly okay today (so wait for the controversial last minute pen).
  16. EDIT: sorry that didn't work. Download sopcat from here. Go to here and click on the sopcast link under the P.A.B section.
  17. Clicky I'm using the P.A.B Sopcast one - it's looking okay.
  18. No worries. Sutton and Clarkson both starting.
  19. That's my though too. It's one thing to raise money for something extra for the club, but they are in a mess because they didn't do what was required at the time and now it is costing them. I don't think we should be bailing out the club on this particular point any more than we should be bailing out the banks.
  20. Aye - it keeps Kong King oot. (Is that a taxi I can hear?)
  21. I think he is right on both points. I'm sure, as a manager, he would like to make a Cup Final appearance. I'm sure, as a manger, you don't forget when your team plays as poorly as it did last night.
  22. We've been eliminated from cups by wee teams since long before 1991 (Queen's Park, for example). That's what makes the cup entertaining. I don't know why some people thought we would breeze it against St. Mirren last night. It certainly wasn't based on our recent results against them.
  23. We lose one game out of ten this year and the witch hunts begin. I didn't see the game last night, but we couldn't possibly have played worse than when Hibs skelped us 4 - 1 at Fir Park. For whatever reason, St. Mirren seem to be able to stop us playing. All the recent games have been close and not pretty to watch. It will take a game or two to re-adjust to playing without Porter, and we do need to find an approach (that's not 4-5-1) to deal with teams like St. Mirren. If we play as poorly for the next 2 or 3 games, then we should be worried.
  24. Aye, that's what any cup is all about. False hope.
