  1. I think that accounts for about half his goals this season. Nice to see Utd get cuffed, though.
  2. Professionally pick the professionals' professional in today's professional performance...
  3. Goal difference up to zero now. Moved into 7th place. Safety guaranteed. Now that's out of the way, can anybody persuade me KVV should be our penalty taker? For such a talented striker I've never been convinced by his pens. That aside, was a very good result in a ground where we've struggled to win in recent times. Special mention to the groundsman who has manged to take a grass pitch and make it play almost as poorly a plastic.
  4. Ben Hall - was said to be around 250k at the time. Also: Marvin Johnson - 650k (plus addons we cashed in when he was sold on) Henrik Ojamaa - brought in for free, - 500,000 Euros Henri Anier - brought in for free, sold for undisclsoed Cédric Kipré - brought for free, sold for 1 million (plus addons we cashed in on when he was sold on) Jake Hastie - 350k (plus addons) on the back of 5 decent performances James Scott - 1.2 million plus addons Turnbull - 3.5 million plus addons. Then there are the deals we did for youngsters who moved on at end of contract, McAlear, Campbell, McKinstry etc. all with addons too apparently. We even managed to get money for Moult in the January window when he could have moved on a Bosman at the end of his contract. Likewise for Tony Watt when he his toys were out the pram. KVV"s obvious selling point is his goal tally this season. The drawbacks for a buying club are his age - little resell value - and the fact that no striker has ever left us and repeated their form the following season. Closest was Higdon who managed about 50% of his previous season.
  5. And they would be cheap, because we can just buy up some Bradford City overstock and swap the badge.
  6. Agent's Handbook, Public Relations, Chapter 1.
  7. That's rare these days. Most strikers that have left us to join Scottish clubs don't fare as well. I'd be surprised if Kev has another season as good as this one when he leaves - none of our other top scorers have had much success when they moved on under similar circumstances. I wouldn't be surprised if Aberdeen are in for him. They have the laziest recruitment policies in the Premiership.
  8. I was thinking that myself. Great fun to watch, but of the 15 goals shipped in those 2 games at least half have been due to comedy defending.
  9. All about cost/profit no doubt. If Macron had a template and could guarantee a certain number of sales it would be worth their time. I see, as a club, Boca has 315,000 members - so a bit more likely to shift the volumes required to make a nice profit. Although I have been happy with Macron as a supplier, I'd be delighted to see us sign with Adidas again at some point.
  10. Way too early to give a verdict on Mandron. He's only made a few starts (and see other discussion on Furlong). Just having him play alongside KVV has been beneficial anyway, as van Veen has been thriving with that extra man up top. If all Mandron is doing is keeping another defender occupied then that has been working OK.

Is a vegan pie not just a salad?
  12. The change kit rules seem to have been getting more and more lax over the past few seasons to the extent that I've seen some games down south where opposing teams are wearing the same colours. Of course they were different shades, but even that used to be forbidden. I suppose with Kelly's black kit, it would be hard for even that ref to confuse the keeper with himself.
  13. Denied buy a futile, but valiant, comeback from Blackburn.
  14. Talking about tradition, I'd quite like to see a shirt made out of plain material instead of the now mandatory living-room-curtain patterns printed/woven in.
  15. Worst grass pitch in the Premiership, but still better than plastic. 2 - 1 to us with KVV continuing on his 30 goal odyssey.
  16. I like to think of Macron sizing as aspirational.
  17. He is contracted until the end of next season. So we'd be due a bigger transfer fee if we sell him in the summer. The noises from the player and the club indicate both parties would be OK with that.
  18. Jim O'Brien on as sub for Notts County in the Conference play-off semi. Looks like he's on his way to Wembley.

The pies at Fir Park in the 70s will never be beaten for poor quality. After you poured the grease out the tinfoil you were better eating the foil and throwing away the pie.
  20. Always looked good on this guy
  21. Sportsound touting KVV for a move to Rangers again. I hope he does a Higdon and takes his next payday in the Dutch league. I suppose he could move down south too, but his form there has been middling at best.
  22. I've always been of the opinion that if you must send something to VAR they get 30 seconds to look at it. If you can't see an error or incident in that time there was nothing clear and obvious and you move on. I never had any confidence in VAR being implemented well in Scotland and I have seen no reason yet to change my mind.
  23. Listening to Sportsound now as I find my post match experience demands hearing music chosen by an ex-referee.
