  1. Panic in the VAR booth as the official struggles to find his Motherwell rule book and after a few minutes of fruitless searching has to use his Old Firm guide instead. (One pager - goal given).
  2. I'll be looking out for your cheerful posts if we get a draw today.
  3. It would be boring if we knew beforehand that we were guaranteed a win. Most important thing will be to stay aggressive and play on the front foot.
  4. How do you make a small fortune betting on the horses? Start with a large fortune.
  5. Us regularly beating teams at the bottom of the league isn't unusual. Even this season when we were mince we beat Ross County and Dundee Utd away. Of course teams fighting for their lives can win games, but they don't win that many. That's why they are at the bottom of the league. And because a team fighting for their life beats us once out of four or five matches doesn't mean it always happens and it's the Motherwell way etc. etc. It's hardly making an arse of yourself when a relegation candidate pulls out all the stops for survival. I expected it when we have been in trouble and I expect it from every basement team we play.
  6. The reason you remember that one is because it was unusual. All the times we've beaten teams at the bottom of the league pre and post split are more easily forgettable.
  7. Turning a blind eye and not enforcing a lock down was how the Chinese kicked off the pandemic.
  8. I certainly didn't see anything in their game yesterday that concerns me. In particular, they are pretty ropey in defence. We'll need to keep our performance levels up, of course, but assuming we do I think it will be another good day at the office as we restrict their winning streak to one-in-a-row.
  9. I could be wrong (I often am), but if Hearts hire a permanent replacement rather than a body until the end of the season, I'd guess they go for someone from outside our league. Then again, Chelsea brought back Lampard, so who knows?
  10. Hibs are playing like the bottom of the league team in this game. Utd aren't much better, but they are looking better than Hibs.
  11. It was the 4th official that got the ball rolling when he held up Casey's number by mistake when Butcher was subbed.
  12. The only thing rarer than a 20-goals-in-a-season scorer at Motherwell is one that moves on and repeats that form elsewhere.
  13. Just wait until steelboy discovers we're not playing a back four. His head might explode.
  14. Making 8th place our own. Take your pick...
  15. Not sure we needed VAR for that last goal. Any further offside and Kev would have been sitting in the Cooper.
  16. Livi playing like they are 3 up this half - pretty flat stuff (which suits us fine).
  17. Initially I thought Spittal was off, but on the replay noticed there was a defender on the nearside playing him on. I'll like VAR now for the next 5 minutes.
  18. It's even better than that at Fir Park. The last time they beat us there was 2002. Of course the downside of playing them is the sore neck you get from watching the ball in the air.
  19. Of course, it's equally possible the reason Johnston is able to push for the first team now is due to the first team playing time he got at Cove. That will have made him much more competitve than watching us from the bench on a Saturday.
  20. Only one winner in the Kelly family on Saturday night and it won't be Sean.
  21. You have to go back to the season we were in the playoff to find the last time 33 points wasn't sufficient to avoid relegation/playoff spots. Even 3 points out the next 9 should be plenty, but would be good to keep things going with another 2 home wins.
  22. Manager brings in player he's worked with for a few years at his previous club. Hardly unique to us. I'm sure steelboy's scouting network contains a long list of superstars looking to play for us on Fir Park wages, but until he shares it with the club we'll just have to rely on Kettlewell's list.
  23. Keepers get away with that every week. High studs, high knees, flying elbows, flattening players (and if you're a Rangers keeper, punching players) - it's annoying, but it's not going to change in my lifetime. I can't even remember the last time I saw a keeper sent off for a reckless challenge.
