Unless they are about to make a step-up, I'm not sure public report cards on the youngsters are necessarily a healthy thing.
It's fine if we are talking them up, but I can't imagine "Bob isn't doing enough this month to earn a first team start" is very useful.
The main problem, I suppose, has been the scrapping of the U20s and being left with a Reserve League that is a bit of a mix of senior and youth players, and only when the shambles of a fixture list is operating.
When we had regular U20s matches we were able to see players in action and the coaches could give constructive feedback on specific games.
Of course Max Johnston has started recently and Stuart McKinstry is an academy product, albeit a loaner.
