And I don't get the love for Blaney, as he makes just as many mistakes. He passes straight to opponents in danger areas 2 or 3 times a game, loses his man too often for my liking and has the same brain fart ratio as all our central defenders from last season.

When you're turning over 7 or 8 first team players, there's no point in trying to do a like-for-like replacement, unless it's a keeper. You need to play to the strengths of the new recruits.

I hope so. I was all in favour of a complete change of personnel in defence, and the Casey/Blaney combo hasn't filled me with any more confidence so far this season.

I like Wilson, but he's very much a work in progress. Which of course, is to be expected. His control is miles off sometimes when he tries to rush things. Good energy though, and he's getting into the right positions at the right times. Looking forward to seeing how he develops with more game time.

We've often got the best out of players by playing to their strengths. Then when they move on, their new teams try to squeeze them into an existing system with less success. I'm not saying that will happen with Spittal, but it certainly happened when Sutton left us for Hearts and even - to a lesser extent - Faddy at Everton.

And Ross MacIver almost matched it, except for a quite incredible save from the keeper.

Was he not one of the players you used to slag off on a regular basis? Also, we didn't get rid of him - St Mirren signed him on a pre-contract. I liked O'Hara, but he never played as well for us as he does for St Mirren. Better fit with Robinson's style (a style you also used to slag off on a regular basis - with good reason, because it was pretty brutal at times).
