I'm not getting carried away one way or the other with Hibs home win against the team sitting 7th (after 3 games) in the Swiss league. They looked good in spells after a sticky start and have impressive movement going forward. They were caught out multiple times with balls behind the full backs and could easily have conceded a couple more. The battle for the midfield is going to be key and it was quite entertaining last night when things started getting a bit tasty. I usually enjoy our games against Hibs and looking forward to see how SK will set up for this latest installment. One thing I do have confidence in predicting is that there will be more than one dive in our penalty box.

Did he shank it?

If we want to throw stats around about past performances, we have a 100% record against Hibs under SK.

They seem to have plenty of cash to splash around (again).

The only way new signings like Souaré get match fit is game time. All the training during the week is no substitute for competitive matches. I wouldn't judge anybody on the Dens Park water slide, but I thought he was OK - and an improvement from his League Cup performances. None of the new signings had faced Premiership level teams prior to that (and you could argue Dundee lie somewhere in between Championship and Premiership level until they find their feet after promotion). The real tests for all the recent recruits will be how they improve and adapt over the next few games.

SK will be starting Soare Because we don't have a player with that name, presumably.

He scored one goal in the Championship the season he moved on from us. Should Barnsley have dumped him at the end of that season? Is League One more his level, given he is playing better in the lower leagues (and Fleetwood were in League One when he had his 17 goals in 77 games streak)? Basically, for you, the 2 goals in 18 months is fine if we sign that player and he works out, but a waste if he doesn't work out? Derek Adams had 41 in 72 games before we signed him. Was that a good one or a bad one?
-
In summary, it seems that the strategy the club should follow is to sign players like the ones we have taken a punt on and succeeded and not sign players like the ones we have taken a punt on and not succeeded. Sounds straightforward. I'm not sure why the club hasn't tried this before.

Wouldn't that make it legal to kick the ball out of his hands and/or tackle the keeper?

If Mugabi or O'Donnell had made some of the mistakes Casey has made so far this season this place would have exploded. He's got out of jail a few times after getting out of position or making some terrible slack passes in dangerous areas. I'm happy to have him in the side overall, but it does show how some players avoid the scrutiny and criticism heaped onto others.

Cole had scored 2 goals in 18 months before he joined us. Exactly the kind of record you complain about. Then he refused a new contract with us for a better deal in England (thanks in part to the improvement in his development at our club). Again, I'm sure if you have constructive ideas on ways to keep a player like him when he didn't want to stay, the club will be happy to hear them. Also, if you have that list of strikers who guarantee goals at our level, that we can afford and that want to play for us, feel free to share it.

Conditions spoiled the game somewhat, but sitting with more than zero points after the first game of the campaign is never a bad thing.

I see Kipré got a start for West Brom today.

This aged well.

This has all the hallmarks of a game that will be decided by a defender losing his footing or the ball being held up in a puddle.
-
I thought it was a slip of the tongue, but he's all in on Blair.
-
Not to mention Crawford Baptie's Fir Park debut, scoring twice - two thirds of his total goal tally for us.
-
We need to immediately stamp out this kind of appreciation of the game we love and ensure nothing but small minded tribal bigotry prevails. Before you know it fans will be walking away from a match feeling entertained.

Hoping Turnbull has a massive season and lands a big money move elsewhere.
-
That logic didn't even hold up to the end of your sentence.

Arbroath looking even worse than they did for most of last season. If Moult was still on his crutches I'd fancy him for a couple more in this game
