Very much doubt we'd be in the running for McGowan. Outside of Celtic (and perhaps Hibs/Aberdeen), he'll be down south. Pity though, he looks like a talent.

"Shags the burds." Bound to work.
-
Hayes perhaps? Fallon? Osborne, if he's still there?
-
Aye...he'd generally only last an hour anyway, so Boab will still get more game time than he does at the moment. Seriously though, what's the craic with Erskinw and Paton? A couple of Jags supporting friends of mine seem to think the Erskine deal is pretty advanced...

This Higginbotham guy would seem to fit the Murphy replacement bill. I take it that would have to be a loan as opposed to a permanent deal? In theory that makes sense - given how many players we're liable to be losing in the summer, there isn't much point making a permanent signing to plug a hole in our current shape. With so many people leaving we may well see wholesale changes to the way we set up and play, but who knows.

Ha! I was talking about O'Dea. We'd be lucky to get Paul Dalgliesh.
-
Could well be a short term loan during the off-season, like Beckham or Henry. Wouldn't be a bad shout at all actually.
-
What happened with that Bossekota guy? Seemed to be on trial for yonks, and played a couple for the U20s (albeit getting injured in one) - could he be a replacement for Ojamaa if he leaves?

Believe.

Cometh the hour, cometh the Boab...

Ha, if only it was. Quite a few tweets from various Polish sources, and that stvgrant guy. Not that I've heard of him before, however.

Going by Twitter, it's a done deal, about £165k. FFS.

The Chievo game was way before that - during the dark days of admin wasn't it? Remember Stuart Elliot (I think) scoring and revealing a 'well worth saving' t-shirt underneath his strip.

What can you say? A bit of a shocker all round. However, all the folk yelling for McCall to go need to GTF. This is just about the first bad patch we've had since he took over, and considering the financial contraction we've had to endure over the summer, it's perhaps not surprising. I've actually thought for a good while now that we've been riding our luck - hugely - for the past four or five years (basically since McGhee left), and I think now we're seeing us drift back to where a team with our wage budget, transfer budget should be. The thing that has really done us this season has been the failure to replace Jennings in the close season. Lasley and Law would usually be first names on the team sheet, but to me they really aren't a centre mid pairing. I really like Las, but he doesn't offer as much bite in the centre as Jennings did - when he was here, Las had licence to get further forward, which I think suited him. Giving him pretty much the entirety of the defensive responsibilities in the midfield doesn't really work. I felt Higdon looked a bit behind the pace tonight. I really rate him, but he perhaps could do with a bit of time on the bench - he hasn't looked as sharp as he did last season and I think we could do with a bit of pace up front. For me, I'd stick Murphy and Ojamaa up front, with Law on the left, and Carswell/Hetherington through the middle. The alternative would be to put Law wide right, ditch Humph and put ZFA on the left - I've liked the look of him so far. We really need to freshen things up - hopefully McCall will be able to strengthen in January.

Noticed we had a trialist come on last night. Was it Bossekota?
-
Those shorts... Celtic were pretty awful then...was that not around the Biggins/Muggleton era?
-
Does he have a left foot? If so, get him signed.

Couldn't make it yesterday, but caught the highlights just there. Some tremendous saves from Randolph, not least from the overhead kick (was that after our second?). Great finishing from the big man too, should hopefully shut a few folk up. The abuse that he gets is beyond me. I think a performance/result like that has been on the cards for a while, and to do it with what you'd probably call a second string side (OK, half a second string - we don't have that many players!) is even more pleasing. Would still like to see a couple more faces come in, I don't think there's a drastic need to fill any positions except perhaps Jennings, but with a squad as thin as ours we're always going to need bodies. All in all, happy days!

I'd settle for not getting relegated every year, definitely. Anything higher than that? Fantastic. For a club of our size to be playing European football so much over the past few seasons is well above where we should, by rights, be sitting. For a team that's hardly paid a penny in transfer fees over the past few years (Hammy aside), we've done not too bad. It's cyclical though. There will be bad times along with all these good times - enjoy it while it lasts, and just think, we could be Dunfermline.

Welcome aboard. Although fingers crossed we can bring in a midfielder too - desperately need a genuine left-sided player who doesn't have to cut in every time he gets the ball! I'm sure his quote on the official site regarding not playing straight away is lifted straight from Champ Man.
-
*crosses fingers * Please be a left sided midfielder...

According to Twitter, we have the famous Tony Rialist in goals for the Thistle game. Any idea what his real identity is?
-
Yup, there's nothing else for it. The younger players in the team will have no opportunity to develop unless we give them the chance, and don't jump on them the first time they misplace a pass. Every single player who we've brought through and sold on was once an untested, unknown quantity - everything has to start somewhere! Onwards and upwards!
-
Daley should be nowhere near the first team. It's a pity we don't have another midfielder ready to start as I'd like to see us accommodate Ojamaa, perhaps operating just behind the strikers and alternating with Murph? Although I suppose, necessity is the mother of invention - we needed guys like Faddy and Pearo at the time to step up and do a job, so we just have to hope Carswell can step up. Looking at the squad list on the official site, replacements are thin on the ground. We simply have to sign a replacement for Jennings if we're to do anything of note at all this season. As an aside...Nicky Law's hair?

To be honest, the thought of going into the CL with anyone in our midfield other than Xavi and David Silva gives me the fear...at least if Jenno had stayed we would have left a few bruises along the way. Now? Hmm.
