Put the razors away, he's not gone yet...

If a Rangers newco are voted in to the SPL...
one m in motherwell replied to Jay's topic in Club Chat
On recent showing, I wouldn't be surprised if Petrie did that. As much as it won't surprise me at all if they sail through unscathed, Im equally convinced there are more things to come out of all this... -
Looking at how things are panning out, we'll get a CL place even if we finish third. Still, opportunities to stick it right up Ra Peepul should be taken whenever they present themselves.
-
Other than the rumour from earlier on, has anything else come out about Hutch? Looks like Watford have turned down bids from Newcastle and Wigan for Mariappa, but there's still a good few hours yet. Would be gutted if that goes down - probably more of a loss than Murph IMO. EDIT: Rangers? FFS. :dash2:Hardly an astute career move given they're going to be plying their trade in the 3rd Division by this time next season. Still, I guess it'll be one more team to send Lawless and Jamie Pollock out on loan to.

The January Window - Who Would You Get Rid Of?
one m in motherwell replied to David's topic in Club Chat
Knifepoint? -
Abusing him? Aye, very good. I think that on his day, Murph is one of the best young players that we've produced in a long while, and he does have the capacity to do something special that can unlock a defence, either with the ball at his feet or causing opposing defenders to double up on him, creating space for others. But, as has been pointed out, consistency is a big issue - to be honest, most players of his ilk are like that. If it comes off, great, if not, then players like that have a tendency to drift out of games - Jamie Murphy is not a 'scruff of the neck' type player. I'm not questioning his commitment to the side - I agree that he puts in a shift every time he turns out - but you can't argue that he has been hot and cold for the majority of this season. He's a huge asset to the side - on his day, and I'd definitely prefer to keep him, although I reckon his form so far this season may well have ruled out a January move for him.
-
What about Murph? Would It be such a bad thing if he left in Jan, given he's hardly kicked his arse all season? Unfortunately I think he's not been played in his best position...would be nice to see McCall give him and Ojaama a run upfront together.
-
According to Mark Benstead on Twitter, McCall hopes to sign Omar Daley next week...
-
Changed his name to E. Casagolda and was last seen lighting up some of Europe's more prestigious arenas.

Yes.

Hollis has signed a new one year deal, according to the BBC gossip page.

Yaaaas!
-
There were a few folk like him, that seemed to play one or two games (again, around roughly the same time) then disappear. Gerry Britton & Khaled Kemas spring to mind.
-
Haha, Sengewald played in the 2-1 Celtic game didn't he? He looked alright then, but that was more because we just needed a big brick wall to stand and kick folk. When it came to the more subtle parts of our game, he wasn't perhaps what we needed... The only thing I remember about Okoli was his immense throw-ins - sure they were of a Dave Challinor/Rory Delap ilk. He played in the game against Rangers with Chiba I think. Ah, Said Chiba. What could have been!
-
Martinez wasn't so much shite, I just think he didn't show any of the attributes that had him held in such high regard by the Wigan fans, there was no doubt that he had talent. There were a few at that time that were all pretty awful...Karl Ready? Eddie Forrest? Steven Cosgrove? The single worst transfer window I can remember.
-
Rab Shannon surely wasn't in that league? The others perhaps...what about that Andy Smith boy, the one we got from Preston I think who had that hoorish haircut?
-
From what I remember, Soloy was actually alright. Ouefio I don't remember too much about - was he not in the Kampman/McLeish era though? There are the obvious ones like Holm Kraska, Steve McDonald etc, but one of the worst has to be McClair (2nd time around)...
-
Unclear. Although that would be a beltin' half time show. For me it's still a novelty having players with any kind of pace at FP!
-
Seems to be something in this. A quick scout of his agent's Twitter suggests that he's signed for us. A left back who apparently 'excelled at the 100m' when he was at Spurs' Academy. Wonder who else we'll announce on the first?
-
Problem with his is that he's a bit of a luxury. Not quite in the same league as Alan Gow, but I always got the impression (certainly in his second season) that he just lost interest if a few passes didn't come off. When he's on his game he's an excellent playmaker, but are we really in a position to be carrying someone who is only interested 50% of the time? I'd also be concerned that we would have to change the shape of the side a bit to accommodate him - Hately dropping back to RB at the expense of Saunders? Shunting everyone along and sticking Murph up front with The Don? In saying that, his type of player (i.e a creative attacking mid) would be a useful addition...but it has to be the right one! Could we see Pollock step up this season?
-
Didn't rate Jones at all. Thought he showed some reasonable promise in his first couple of appearances, but he faded very quickly. Think we could do a good bit better than him, and he's certainly not getting any younger...

Scottish Cup Final Pre-Match Banter

Best part of the day was the random Frenchman that we collected in DiMaggios on the way to the ground - I believe he was the manager. Claimed he was mates with Eric Garcin!
