  1. As a few folk have said, gutted but incredibly proud. To be honest, in footballing terms the game was pretty poor. 3-0 totally flattered them, and they created about as little as we did. A bit bemused by McCall's tactics, but could see what he was trying to achieve (ish). But fuck it. Cracking day, and looking round, I don't think I've ever felt prouder to be a 'Well fan than today. Now isn't the time for negativity or finger pointing. We've got a whole new season to look forward to. Believe!
  2. Absolutely shiting it at the moment - in a good way! Heart is racing...probably for the next day or so!
  3. The Bukta one from Muttley's first season. Long sleeved, with a slightly lopsided 'Motherwell FC' text along the bottom. Was thinking of breaking out the full kit and pretending I was six again, but I've been advised against it.
  4. Exactly, who gives a single fuck what they were wearing, or how fashion conscious they are/were? The whole casual thing, aside from anything else, is all just a bit pathetic really.
  5. Randy, Hutch, Humphrey, Jennings, and Gunning.
  6. I was actually fairly excited last night, and waking up this morning, that we might have brought a couple of folk in. But then, I actually thought about it for a second. Why is that we feel we need to bring in players, just because the transfer window is open? I'm not for a second saying that there aren't areas of the team we could do with strengthening - a striker and a right back would have been my preference - but how do we know that this strengthening couldn't come from within the team itself? In the Admin Era, folk like Pearo, Faddy etc were able to break through, simply because they had to - the club didn't have the resources to bring folk in to plug the gaps. In all honesty I don't think the current situation is all that much different - OK, we're not in administration, but we still don't have the means to bring in some hotly tipped youngster from the lower leagues, develop them, and then sell them on. What we need is for the kids to be given the opportunity to show us what they've been doing week in, week out for the U-19s. I'd much rather bring a few of them through than use the minimal resources we've got to bring in some haddy just to keep folk happy.
  7. Did Velicka not sign for St Gallen last night?
  8. I hate this pish. What credentials does John Hartson have as a manager? Has he had a shot with us in Champ Man or something? I'm intrigued by the prospect of Sbragia though...
  9. Herald reports that McCall, Sutton, Stubbs and Fenlon were interviewed this week. With the exception of Fenlon, get tae. Although I find the possibility of him joining a bit strange given that Dundee Utd couldn't afford his compensation from Bohemians. Out of interest, where did the Sbragia chat come from?
  10. Fairness aside, what the playoffs would give is competition. Remember that? It was that odd feeling at the start of the season when you went to the first game thinking that maybe, just maybe, this is the season where we'd do something special. Not that it's happened in Scottish football for a long time, but I digress. I think the playoffs would have every single team in the league fighting tooth and nail in EVERY single game - not just in the games against the so-called 'equal' teams, and running up the white flag against the Old Firm. We've seen in the past few seasons that the OF are very much beatable - financial hardship would seem to be hitting everyone in the league; the days where championships could be bought look to be a thing of the past. However - and a couple of folk have mentioned this - with the current refereeing shambles, one or two dodgy decisions could swing an entire season. We need real change on that front before anything can really improve, in my opinion. Put it this way...would play-offs be any worse than what we've got just now?
  11. Tremendous. The chat-wagon is truly parked in your drive this evening. Away and watch Antiques Roadshow and leave us in peace.
  12. I suppose what the likes of Clarke might offer is a bit of hunger to put the experience that they've gained as assistants down south into practice. I think the point I was trying to make is that someone who's only known top flight football might not quite have the wherewithal to unearth a few lower-league gems (as Gannon did). Ultimately we need someone who can do both...and that's the sticking point!
  13. Steve Clarke mentioned in the paper and on the Beeb. Wouldn't be against that, but I'd doubt we could afford him. Or his signing ambitions, presumably.
  14. He's all set to go and give Willie Miller a Chinese burn, but he's waiting for the ice to thaw so he can get his car out. PS. A Chinese burn from Esteban Casagolda is equivalent to the force of one million H-bombs.
  15. Not really a family 'connection' though, is it? That's like me saying I've got a family connection with Barcelona because my wee brother has been to the Nou Camp. Just trying to come up with as many reasons possible why fiend Dodds shouldn't be given a second glance!
  16. I'd very much doubt we'd even be that fortunate - it's Billy Dodds, not Mourinho or Fergie!
  17. Is there anything on the BBC website about Dodds and Chisholm? Couldn't see anything earlier. Personally I don't see why we can't have someone like Gordon Young w/Craggs take over in the interim - two figures at the club who although they don't have direct experience perhaps, at least know the players very well - at the moment we need a steadying hand to settle everyone down until something more permanent can be put in place. The thing that rankles me though - and I know there's all the talk of the 'gentleman's arrangement' - that's two managers now that we haven't tied down to permanent contracts. Surely we can learn for the next appointment?
  18. Heard an interesting rumour this morning, that Chris McCart might be coming back...can't say I'd be happy with that, to be honest. I think there's only one person who can step in: Casagolda.
  19. Aye, looks as though he was all set to sign for us at the end of September, but found out he was still registered to a team in Algeria. From what I can gather, he'll be signing for us when his registration there expires...if they let him go! Comparisons to Nadir Belhadj...whatever next?!
  20. Baws! Was just about to post that. Is this the 'Salim' that was mentioned before the transfer window closed, rather than the guy who Rangers were looking at?
  21. "It's coz you're fucking shite" - belter!
