  1. He also got fans player of the season, I know a diehard Luton fan who got him that night to do a wee video for my daughter which she treasures. Anytime I watched Luton though he wasn't on the ball that often, plenty energy and seemed to be primarily in the back up/supporting role picking up scraps and recycling Saw his first game for Millwall and it was more of the same. Like others I thought going to Charlton and renuniting with Nathan Jones would resurrect things for him but sadly seems not. I get where Kmcalpin is coming from, although maybe a tad harsh
  2. Yes, I think he is shocking, much preferred Richard Gordon but I guess he was too 'gentlemanly', seems they are dumbing down like Clyde etc
  3. I've got a feeling this might be a rough ride initially, I can almost hear Kenny McIntyre and his cohorts on radio getting their knives sharpened for a big pile on if the new regime doesn't start well. 5th when he left etc etc. They love nothing more than a crisis they can feast on (a la Adeen, Hibs, Hearts) It's going to be important that the fan base sticks behind him even if initial results disappoint, and I think it will as there is universal acceptance he has a huge task on his hands. (as long as an improvement in tactics, work rate and aggression is on show) .
  4. IF that is the case I would think the Thistle board might think again after that piece in The Sun. Their fans are not shrinking violets when it's not going well.
  5. Was at a physio appt today and in between the sadistic sod torturing me, we did discuss the SK situation. When I talked about the irony of the abuse allegations given SK's interactions with match officials he said that was nothing new, when he was a physio with a youth team, they played Motherwell and Ketts was constantly berating the officials. Said his behaviour was completely unacceptable.
  6. I'm with you mate, been disillusioned for a long while on and off the pitch, but backed the WS and increased my subs after Barmack as I thought it might be the start of a new dawn. I am so angry at the way the club (and WS) has handled this and lost control, throwing us all under the bus, and generating huge negative publicity for the club, and the only reason the correct narrative is getting out there now is from non club channels like Graeme McGarry in the Herald, Tam Cowan, and some sensible fan interviews. But damage has been done. The Well Society have been virtually silent. Their comms was great during Barmack, and in general since, but apart from one vague statement there has been nothing. Now perhaps they decided against adding fuel to the fire, but a simple appreciation of SK, a condemnation of abuse but speaking up for the majority of a fan base that supported the manager last season during a 15 games winless run (hi Aberdeen) might have redressed the balance.
  7. I agree with this, maybe not with Richard Gordon, but last week Kenny whatshisname (dreadful anchorman btw) was desperately asking Billy Dodds at Adeen multiple times, is there any booing, have the fans turned, so he could get a right old pile on going. He was similar during Hibs bad run, him and Tom English and the reporter slagging them off continually on openallmics during RC game, and then it was a ' condescending guess what happened, Hibs have scored. Fact is Sportsound have become shock jockeys looking for sh1t to spread with the exception of calling out the OF fanbase. Don't think they have it in for us more than any other club/support they are just crap
  8. Spot on, exactly my thoughts, it produced more questions than answers. I actually started typing out a post last night so similar to yours it's scary, then tiredness took over and the fact I'm getting scunnered with the whole thing. Thankfully todays interviews with Frail and SODs finally moved things in the right direction, and Graeme McGarry's piece in the Herald has reassured me that there is still proper journalism out there. I find myself wondering though if Brian Caldwell's heart is in it going forward, not bourne out of any knowledge, just the impression I was left with.
  9. I'm the first one to have a go at anyone dishing out abuse to our players or managers and have got myself into some difficult situations in doing so, but I honestly didn't feel he was on the end of anything out of order at games, although am willing to be proved wrong
  10. I think the 'abuse' bit is a convenient scapegoat. He's realised he can't turn this round so he is going now to protect the legacy of the good things he has done, unsullied by a potential relegation battle, now leaving a club that has backed him to the hilt in the transfer market managerless with only a week to go in the window. That Daily Record piece could have been written by SK himself, all the positives, none of the negatives.
  11. An article in the Herald worth reading is not a phrase you see often, but this one is bang on the money, thanks for posting
  12. That's nonsense, just because you are swimming against the tide doesn't mean your opinions are not welcome, it's a fan's forum not an echo chamber, be very dull if we all agreed. Forums can be a bit of a cesspit at times but I've found SO far more balanced and less confrontational than it used to be. You have made very good points and have been consistent, but if you post a view on a fan's forum you have to expect it to be challenged if someone disagrees,, but you seem to take it personally when someone challenges your views, my advice is try not to, just counter it, then just let it go. FWIW I am very much known amongst fellow fans I see at games as a 'Happy Clapper', have never barracked the team or an individual, something I hate to see happening, and I don't like to see hard working guys like SK fail, so I understand where you are coming from. However my view has now changed with the evidence on show in recent weeks, and this is only ending one way sadly.
  13. Honestly if I hear one more 'pundit' saying 'but you are 5th in the league and been in a cup semi final' I think I'll scream. Blind Pugh can see the way this is going, 6 points above the play off place with Celtic up next. Interesting to hear Leeanne having a go at the substitutions today and Craggs highlighting only 30% possession, wonder if SK will listen to them as they do have playing and coaching/ management experience?
  14. It does indeed, but I understand there are reasons for that, and Carlisle are a club in complete disarray. Suppose we should remember we got Louis Moult from a club in non league and he was meant to be back up to Wes Fletcher, and look what happened, sometimes a player fits, lets hope so
  15. Was watching the weekly english leagues highlights programme and I see Brodie Spencer and Zak Jules both scored. BS was of course decent with us, but I still have nightmares about the time the bold Zak prevented the ball going out for our bye kick and presented it to a Ross Co? player to score.
  16. I've been critical of our fans for many years, but in the case of SK, I think barring the usual inarticulate numpties on fb and twitter, by and large those on here and P&B have been pretty measured in responses during last years bad run and this most recent situation. I do think though that Saturday's reaction has been on the cards for a wee while but I also think SK has also become a bit of a lightning rod for what has been an abysmal 6 years or so since Robbo held his hands up then GA sucked the life out the place, and Hammell's ill fated tenure. Apart from the Spittal/Bair purple patch, there has been no excitement in watching our team for a long time. I like SK, and he has a lot of credit in the bank for getting us clear of relegation, keeping calm, keeping the dressing room, and guiding us clear of trouble the following year. The support deserves credit also for by and large sticking with him during that spell. However a lot of goodwill was used up, and the signs are there that he is not responding well to the difficulties this season, the well documented injury situation, his pressers have been more downbeat, criticism of players/team more regular, a passive inflexible tactical set up, poor haphazard recruitment, and the constant yellow/red cards is doing no one any favours, but indication that he is feeling the heat. He must at the moment feel the world is against him and Saturday's (justified btw) fan reaction will have cut deep. The rumours of dressing room issues add to the problems he faces. He needs help and I find myself wondering what his assistant and our 'army' of coaches are bringing to the table. I hope for his sake and ours he can turn this round, but it would need such a change in approach that in my heart of hearts I can't see it. When you lose the support its only a matter of time, and seeing negative comments from fair minded folks previously supportive on here and Pie&B says to me he needs to arrest this slide starting Saturday or rightly or wrongly things will become toxic at matches benefitting none of us.
  17. Connolly cup tied with EK, thats the reason
  18. Thats my issue with the whole farce. I can almost forgive the original call, but not the doubling down. That is either an obstinate ignoring the obvious because he didn't want to admit a mistake or it was a genuine belief it was still a red card. Either way it should mean he doesn't ref a Premier League game again
  19. Whoever comes in when Lennon goes will be on a hiding to nothing. I'm still of a mindset of getting enough points on board to avoid relegation, as no one seems to be discussing how our season will pan out IF he goes in January. Our solitary goal on Friday might not officially be an assist, but without looking up or taking a touch he had the awareness and skill to first time a perfect clipped cross to the backpost. We will miss that ability massively
  20. VAR not at fault for red card, they did the right thing by asking the clown of a ref to look at it again
  21. Thats been my thought in last few weeks. It's allright saying he gets game time here, but playing in this team with such mediocrity around him, I wouldn't be surprised if he and his father decide January is the time to go, and then we will see even more of a sh1tshow in midfield. After RC game I thought to myself we are in trouble, non mwell mates said no way, I'm now convinced we are
  22. Now plying his trade with national league north side Hereford, since leaving us has had about 7 clubs, highest level was Gillingham who got relegated, seems to play about 10 games at most then moved on
  23. I spent about 2 hours in total, listening to pitches (some twice) looking at mixes of skill sets, and really struggled to get down to 4 picks. I'm lucky in that I had time to do it. Not everyone has that time and I think that has more to do with the low turnout than anything
