  1. Having operated it from its installation circa 1994 for 10 years or so I can confirm its gubbed. The technology behind it even then was third world nowadays it would be an antique!! Its replace or nowt as patching up not an option and i think we have better priorities...nice to hear folks miss it though! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  2. Hartley by a mile, actually saw him having a quiet word trying to gee up McHugh in first half. If a deal goes through for him I think he will be skipper which I actually think will be good for Carl as well. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  3. Do you know steelboy i actually thought to myself you had been quiet over the last few weeks when things were going well but I imagined you would be straight on your keyboard tonight and you haven't disappointed. It all felt a bit flat today and it was a reality check as to where we actually are, which in the longer term may be no bsd thing. Hibs were pretty good, wily manager who knew how to counter our style, and although the changes made improved things in the second half I never really felt we would claw it back. Moult and Bowman way off the pace today, Moult normally links up play pretty well but couldn't pass water today, McHugh who was excellent at Dundee was poor today. Couldn't fault the effort but pass marks only to Hartley, Bigi, and Tanner for me. Bigi pass to Cadden for the one cleared off the line was our best moment in the match. I imagine the management team will be glad to now have just 2 games in next 3 weeks, time to regroup. If you had offered me this weeks results I would have taken it so a bit flat myself but not 'worried' or ready to overly criticise Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  4. Just seen Hartley interview on Alba.....really interesting and the player stated he wants a permanent move here so hopefully we can work something out with Blackpool Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  5. We got away with one there...will be interested to see our second half penalty shout Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  6. They keep on delighting us. great first 20mins then the long break for injured dee player seemed to break our momentum. Classical counter attack play in the second half which should have seen a couple of goals and denied a stonewall penalty. Thought they were unfortunate to have a goal disallowed and the pass back decision was on a par with Louis Thows on Chris Mc Cart againt Hearts in bygone days. Their crowd and team claimed for a foul at every challenge...thanks Pedro and Media Very proud of the boys tonight, showed we have some strength in depth and some of our passing play early on was great. Away crowd was 404 which I thought disappointing but a midweek game and travel would make it difficult for folks so thats not criticism but those there made plenty noise. 7. Fisher or McHugh for me, honorable mentions to Tait and Frear but will give it to Fisher, not the fastest or strong enough in the air but worked his socks off, held it up well, excellent ball control and movement and running on empty closing down at the end. McHugh excellent also and showed his value in going to centre back when Hartley went off. Was missed in midfield though as Grimshaw didn't really perform when he came on Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  8. Was thinking just that after Sunday....interesting dilemna for Robbo tomorrow night and think Campbell, Rose may drop out with Biggi and Grimshaw coming in, but depends on knocks etc. Pleased to hear him say he will use the squad . Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  9. That press conference was absolute class from start to finish, and Flow's experience showed in how well briefed the manager was........if I worked or played for Robbo I would walk through brick walls for him, and its obvious the players will too. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  10. Went for Carson as his handling and general assuredness set the tone and gave us confidence and a platform for Louis to go and do his stuff but thought Dunne had his best game for us. Some tremendous blocks and sent Louis clear for his lob. Didn't actually realise until I saw the highlights how many times he had vital blocks and interceptions. Again Robbo made the right call Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  11. Christ I hope its Sunday 26th 3pm as per SPFL website cos my youngest daughter has just booked her flights back from Galicia in Spain which is not the easiest place to travel from as direct flights to Vigo don't operate in winter. 200 mile bus trip to Porto, flight to Edinb getting in Saturday night, flight back to Barcelona Sunday night, 5 hours onight wait in airport then early flight to Vigo and work on Monday. Now thats dedication! We brought her up 'well'. Will be a proud dad with my 3 'kids' at my side at a game for first time since 2011 and regardless of result I know this team won't let us down. 12. Effing brilliant and sums it all up beautifully Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  13. 41 years of hurt removed - thank you Robbo and the team Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  14. Not controversial in the slightest Grizzly, hard to argue that Stuart made an error at the 2nd goal, but in context the double whammy of a denied stonewaller for us plus a cheating dive given for them would have knocked the whole team sideways. Rennie was a good goalkeeper for us over a number of years. He was also unfortunate in the 1975 semi final v Airdrie when he was pulled up on the 4 steps rule and Airdrie scored from the free kick. To put that in context think of the current rule for keepers to get rid of the ball, when was the last time you saw a keeper penalised? Well it was the same then, that rule was hardly ever enforced., except for us in a semi final against the wee Rangers (sorry gettin paranoid here) And the referee was Rollo Kyle who was one of the JPR Gordon's colleagues caught taking gifts from AC Milan!!!!!
  15. Brilliant thanks Numpty and also pleased to see that I wasn't tripping earlier on in the thread and it was in fact Ian Archer who did the report and the front page piece. Mind you could feel my hackles rising reading Wallace's post match comments.
  16. Thats how they did it in them days wasn't live on tv Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  17. All the talk about that 1976 semi prompted me to do some internet searching to see what was out there in the public domain, came across a 10 year old thread on Pie and Bovril started by a workmate of Stuart Rennie who quoted Stuart as saying it WAS in the box but there was absolutely NO CONTACT, and the ref was on halfway line, also that Johnstone did admit as such many years later. Been trying to find an archive copy of Jim Reynold's match report without success but it appears he was an Albion Rovers diehard who 'leaned' towards Parkhead, but was also a great mate of Jim Watt and Jock Wallace. JPR Gordon and his colleagues were caught accepting gifts from AC Milan who paid for a 'shopping spree'. Doesn't appear to be a lot of love out there for JPRG from the fans of any team especially Celtic (funnily enough). Younger forum members out there are probably fed up with us old codgers going on about this but it is deeply rooted in the psyche of any Well fan of that vintage. The other thing about that night was standing in the open 'celtic' end on a wet cold night with groups of Rangers f****wits marauding around with impunity. My absolute loathing of that club and its knuckle dragging followers was cemented that night and has never left me. Anyway on to the present day and Sunday, so looking forward to the game. Pre match lunch booked for a group of us. All I am looking for is to see a Motherwell side showing no fear and leaving nothing behind at the end, and a fair crack of the whip from the officials. I can accept a defeat as long as all 3 happen. I think we have a great chance and the prospect of an end of match rendition of 'twist and shout' by 7000 Well fans has me smiling as I type this. Here's hoping. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  18. There were other factors and you could never say 100% but there is no doubt we then went into decline and it had a profound effect on the psyche around the club, not so much losing a semi final, but the way it happened. Anyway whatever the case revenge would be so sweet for us auld yins Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  19. Never forget that night...Greig clattered Pettigrew when we were 2-0 up, no penalty from that weasal and we all know the rest. Ian Archer did a very sympathetic piece in the Herald if I remember unlike the Rancid which was all about the great Rangers comeback. We never recovered from that night, and a decline to relegation followed, so to me it became more than just being ROBBED of a final place A victory on Sunday would be so sweet for everybody but particularily those there in 1976. 20. Just caught up with this....excellent listen really enjoyed it Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  21. Reading all this narkieness etc(and I include my own) just goes to show what an erse Accies did make of it. Hopefully we can have a crystal clear policy for the next (and hopefully last time for a while) we visit that dump. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  22. I asked because previously I have had issues with someone sitting in the seat I had a ticket for and been told we can sit anywhere so I don't need to be told what question to 'reasonably ask'. It is entirely reasonable to ask and get clarification on what the policy is before going to take a seat. OK? Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  23. Basically yet again Accies made an erse of this. First steward we asked said sit in your ticketed seat, steward next to him said he had just heard through his ear piece we could sit anywhere....this is at 2.40!. Fortunately most of our support is reasonable and situations around us anyway were resolved amicably but there is always one eejit determined to make a point and 'front row man' was a case in point. So its not a case of wanting escorted to seats its just clarity and when a senior steward tells you to sit anywhere thats just what we did. I certainly wasnt going to go to L44 or whatever my ticket was and have an argument with who was sitting there. My preference would be sit in your allocated seat but that needs to be clear when purchasing tickets and not changed 20 mins before kick off Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
