  1. YB I have always enjoyed reading your opinions (whether or not I agreed with them) which are well thought through reasonable and always articulated very well. I am however a bit taken aback at how negative you are in this one. Time will tell I guess Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  2. Anyone having bother getting on club website, seems to have crashed??? Hope we can really tap into the interest being created Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  3. All about opinions, like them both away strip is a belter. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  4. Just caught up with new player and Robbo interviews ... really impressed, as well as quality as players he is obviously looking at character as well. Carson interview was particulary good. I was at the Dunfermline u20 game a few days before the Dundee debacle and witnessed our management team turning up 30 mins late and generally joking about and not looking that interested in the game. I felt and remarked to friends it was all too complacent and I wanted to see more of a sense of urgency and professionalism. I think we have got that with Robinson. I always felt second time round with McGhee he felt he had nothing to prove and could do enough to match our limited targets without breaking sweat, where Robinson has something to prove and looks very focussed and commited to the task in hand. His man management in keeping a poor side up knowing so many were going to be binned but not dissing them in public was excellent. Now he will have his own picks in I think he will be demanding and fair..just the sort of gaffer thaf will get the best out of players Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  5. Also interesting to hear about Alan Burrows phone call to him while he was checking in for a flight to Australia persuading him to return to the club. Great job Flow!! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  6. Certainly is a good interview thanks for posting link. Be interesting where he ends up. Liked the candid nature of his comments, he has been a massive player for us in both spells Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  7. Agreed although I believe he was carrying an injury in the play off games. Sadly BBC online gossip carries on peddling the myth this morning Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  8. And he has been smart enough to keep those comments till we were safe unlike another manager touted on here for the job who 'lost the dressing room' and saw his team relegated. With what he has had to deal with, and the piss poor squad he inherited, I think he has done a tremendous job in keeping us up. An even bigger task now lies ahead and I wish him well and some patience from the 'pant wetter' posters. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  9. He does actually, saying at end of article he will consider his own position Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  10. I am sure it was nerve shredding at the game but am in Vigo at moment and it was hellish being updated via mobile. As an aside was watching Man U v Celta Vigo game in local bar Thurs managing to convince locals I waz not English or a Man U fan was not easy. I felt their pain at the end, heres hoping its the only football pain i will feel this season. All about the result not the performance and thank god for Louis Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  11. On hearing the line up I was encouraged however Moult didnt look mobile/fit and very subdued. Hammell was injured so I have no issue with him coming off but the Ainsworth/Bowman and Campbell/ Clay substitutions had me scratching my head. Jules looked like a rabbit caught in headlights. That error strewn goal sucked the life out the whole stadium. I genuinely thought we would be OK but this maybe now our time after dodging relegation through various ways over the years. It's a perfect storm..poor squad nervy as hell today, bad breaks/refereeing decisions, huge injury list, inexperienced manager, no dosh, I actually think automatic relegation is now a distinct possibility as I don't see where we go from here. Hope I'm wrong Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  12. Interesting stat re -1 goal difference in Robinsons 8 games, it certainly aint him thats got us into this mess. Agree with a lot of what you say regards the manager however Dundee sussed how to play against our current set up and McIntyre will have watched with interest so a plan 'b' is required. The fact there is no clear view from posters as to what personnel should fill what position in a 4-4-2 shows the difficulty the manager faces. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  13. Kirkintilloch Rob Roy if I remember correctly Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  14. Still think he is the best keeper I have seen playing for us but if there is a chink in his game that is it Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  15. Skippy outstanding and MOM for me, other good performances from Frear, McHugh and Campbell 2nd half Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  16. Couldnt agree more with you about BBC I was shouting at the radio on the way home...muppets. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  17. Tbh guys this long running 'spat' between various contributors is becoming a pain in the arse. Have different views by all means thats what this forum should be all about, but the name calling, language used and abusive and dismissive tone of these posts do not reflect well on any of the contributors, so C'mon guys bury the hatchet (preferably not in each other's heids) and get back to discussing and arguing about footy and our team Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  18. I'm sympathetic to the difficulties of goalkeeping having spent 12 years in that position in the amateur game. Not easy but I have to say he should have come for that cross even a flick off his hand and out for a corner would have cleared the imminent danger. Having said that he was unlucky the ball squeezed in the smallest of spaces at the near post. Really encouraging overall performance and attitude. Going to Ibrox playing 3-4-3 was very refreshing Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  19. Just referenced the 'Well again book by Graham B and Keith B. It was season 93/94 game was originally scheduled for 9/4 but was played 3/5 which would explain midweek evening game. Kirk scored for us crowd was 5208 and you are right re Roddie, he hadnt been signed. We then drew 3-3 away to Raith and lost 1-0 to St J finishing 3rd 1 pt behind Adeen and 4pts behind Rangers. Basically taking 1 point from last 3 games from teams finishing 6th, 10th and 11th which cost us the league...thats how close we actually were. It was McLeans final season with us so my memory was playing tricks but I am still convinced the Cooper stand was a building site! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  20. Remember that I think the cooper stand was being built so it was literally a building site behind that goal. Crowd was just over 5000 for a title chasing team!!. Now I could well be wrong here but did Andy Roddie not miss a chance to put us 2 up before Brewster scored and if that was the case it would have been McLeish's first season. (but more or less McLeans team)...feel free to correct as my memory aint what it used to be! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  21. True....Saints have always been a good example and I like the way Thistle/Archibald have gone about things, but it has taken time for them, it wasn't that long ago they were struggling. I would like to think our fans would be as patient but I doubt it [emoji6] Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  22. Haha we should sign him if they have! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  23. Assuming Moult and Skippy go (and by christ I shudder where we would have been without them) the only players I would keep are Heneghan, Tait, Clay (just), Bowman, Frear, McManus, Cadden if he can get his act together and especially Carl McHugh imo our future captain and who we should build the team around....from the younger kids McLean, McMillan, Campbell, Ferguson...the other U20s I havent seen enough of That leaves a hell of a rebuilding job on a small budget with priorities goalkeepers, left back, and a box to box midfielder, and a nippy striker As others have said some pace and some physical presence would be great. Easier said than done I know but from what Robinson has said I am confident he knows what is required, lets pray he gets his recruitment right. (And I would take Crawford and Devlin in a heartbeat, believe it or not I would also take Imrie) Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
  24. Apologies I was at the u20 3-2 loss v Dunf and Griffiths played in that game, was poor at one of the goals, and I was wrongly told he was in goals in the 6-3 defeat by Thistle. Mind you having just watched it on you tube my point still stands. I know these can be one offs but if either of Saints 2 goallies today were in our squad I would hope they would play in front of Samson Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
