2018’19 Game 17:St Johnstone (A) Saturday 15th December 2018
Clackscat replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Indeed but to be fair to DEWELL he did come back on post match to hold his hands up. It is interesting that the much criticised summer transfer strategy, looks far less questionable now with Aldred, Mbulu and Gillespie and DJ playing so well on Saturday, while the timing of Turnbull's introduction looks spot on. Hastie will be back in January a much improved player after his loan spell at Alloa, and we have seen why the clamour for Livingstone's introduction was premature at this stage. Fishing in the pond we do, every signing has an element of risk (look at some of wee Tommy's duds in the late 80s), but it looks like the strategy was not as bad as it may have looked 6 weeks ago. Nope, time to get right in about them. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -
That'll be the same Andy Rose just back from injury and subbed on after 5 minutes, having to play virtually the full game in a midfield that spent majority of its time chasing the ball. I remember the incident you are talking about and it was obvious he was physically spent. As others have said, not the most talented going forward, but put in excellent defensive shifts, allowing others to play. Seeing as we are picking up on isolated incidents, find a clip of Moults chipped goal v Hearts last season and watch whose initial challenge led to Tait getting the ball to Moult. Fully appreciated by team mates if not some of the experts in the stands. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Sorry mate, didn't mean to quote you, just meant to add the comment....senior moment. Was a comment earlier in the thread alluding to about how bad we must be to get humped 7-1 by Rangers when they can't beat Dundee Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

I think St Johnstone this season are a different proposition. Number of new younger players and a more expansive style. Struggled early doors but since their 6-0 Celtic gubbing have been THE form team. Great achievement on lower crowds than us. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

we lose to Rangers 7-1, cuff Aberdeen 3 nil, they then beat Rangers 1-0, we draw with Celtic, then they cuff the league leaders 5-1 Every game is different, teams don't play at the same level or with the same personnel every week, Dundee are a better side now than they were 3 weeks ago, we were gash against Rangers but bounced back, Rangers have been rank since they gubbed us, comparing results as a future guide is useless Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Agreed and it would be really refreshing to hear some praise from the doom and gloom merchants who predicted gubbings in these games Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -

Exactly this, a 90 mins chasing the ball is better done by a player who is not also having to play on Saturday. Thought Sammon was poor in first half, but much better second half. Main and Bowman fresh for Saturday. Manager got it right even though it seemed puzzling at first. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -

I think you might be right, sure I saw a quote that Dunne is not going to make it but is expected to be back v Hearts Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -
. 'All our big performances have been when everyone has worked there socks off. As soon as that drops we look awful ' This is my biggest concern, I mentioned it last season. The amount of effort the players have to put in to win with this style of football is simply not sustainable. Hence a lot of injuries and our inability to 'kick on' after the occassional big performance. They are spent physically and mentally. I'm desperate for Robbo to succeed and was cheered by the change of emphasis recently, but these comments worry the hell out of me. Really disappointing, just hope it is a misquote. Wasn't the impression I got, but you may have more access than I to the inner workings. Agree he is a damned good footballer, had a very quick chat with him recently and loved his attitude. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Kinda puts into perspective the difficulties we have with our 4 better players long term injured. Look at Hearts and how a few injuries have affected them. Not for a minute saying Robbo is the blameless messiah, but that injury list would test any squad, and add McHugh and Hartley suspensions too. Also saw Livi have had 8 clean sheets including Hearts, Celtic, and Rangers, so disappointing as Saturday was we are not alone. Overall our squad is limited and just cannot cope with the absence of all the better players. While Maguire is a great prospect Saturday showed you cannot expect too much too soon. Tough times ahead but I think we have enough to stay up then start again next year, especially with the youngsters more ready to step up Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

It is a fact that Robbo sees him as a defensive midfielder which is why he has been largely playing there for Reserves. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

We are where we are, you can debate till the cows come home the relative merits of Boyle and Hutchison, and the legal agreement, but thats what it is.....a legal agreement. So how to best support the club and move forward. In my opinion that is to support the Well Society, whats the alternative? Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

2018’19 Game 14: Livingston (A) Saturday 1st December 2018

After witnessing the shambles at St Mirren when their booth actually ran out of tickets!! I was glad I had taken the online purchase and delivery option which I have done again this week, and the tickets duly arrived next day, a great service. However the requirement for tickets for a game that will attract 2000 at best is a nonsense. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -

I think you are right, MS didn't look at ease delivering his piece, poor guy has been gettin pelters as well Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk -
I don't think he is ready yet, but definitely one for the future, fantastic close ball control and great attitude. Would benefit from a loan spell Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

I love watching lower league/cup fitba, and if we aren't playing or are at the ugly sisters I try and take in a game, sure the quality isn't great, but there is a refreshing honesty and enthusiasm about it, and at times some great moments. 2 Kelty Hearts goals I saw last season would have graced any ground. Agree BBC FA cup early round coverage excellent Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

I thought the exact same when I read it, we would get a decent dev fee, but I would rather have him for a couple of seasons, and a bigger transfer fee, still the lad looks as if he is sensible, so hopefully we are reading too much into it. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Not often I find myself (almost) agreeing with you, although I thought he improved in 2nd half and also played sensibly after his early yellow card. I understand he has been injured and so could understand being off the pace a bit early doors. Doesn't mind a tackle tbf, but will struggle to fill McHugh's shoes.
