  1. Well done Mark, you can give Haggis his log in details back.
  2. I'd buy them a team bus and put big comfy seats in wi' telly's n' that. Maybe a coffee machine tae, Kenco of course. Then I'd use it during the week to go to work.
  3. Well if that's the case time for SPL chairmen to grow a set and insist on a reasonable financial package when our teams are featured against them. A TV deal is no use to them if they have no opposition.
  4. Think they're waiting to see who collects theirs then posting out the remainder to cut costs
  5. If he loses the first 2 games there won't be a third

    So It Begins...

What effort? Disnae take long tae put some grass seed doon
  7. Well done Keevins in deflecting attention away from the ilegal workings of his favoured Shellic men.
  8. How did I manage a double post during an edit?
  9. If it's only the Record that are saying they're saved then Rangers must be one of those most at risk, they wouldn't put out a ludicrously optimistic story against the grain if it were only diddy clubs at risk.

    Willie Kilmarnock

Doughty Defender, as described on the Pathe News film of our Cup victory, never heard anyone else called that so he must have been good to get a word all to himself. Sad news, RIP Sir.
  11. Well if I were a diddy club chairman I'd be playing hardball and demanding half of what they're getting for a live broadcast showing my club. Only fair.
  12. I recall Fir Park seemed full when we played Hearts that midweek game, of course it wasn't but there was just such a buzz in at the old fence. Loads of games like that even Arbroath in our opening home game seemed busy although I'm sure the attendance figures will show it was anything but. Mists of time certainly cloud the memories I'm sure.
  13. Ha ha, aye, Continuity Ricky
  14. That Hearts game came immediately after Raith scudded us 5-2 up there. Doing what we do best, coming back strong when everyone had written us off. The Berwick game I went and checked, that was the following season 1980-81 so I was wrong on that year but have it etched it my memory that we went third bottom after that defeat. I think you'll find also that when these threads come round most of them are recent games cos they're fresh in the memory or the youngsters dominate proceedings. For all our troubles in the First Division there were some great memories which may not rank with the best but are up there for those of us of a certain vintage.

    Aye make it worse
  16. To my mind he didn't have the bottle to take us into the top flight, did well to turn Ally MacLeod's team into winners kind of similar to Noah's achievements of a fashion but Hay definitely ruined any momentum we had by leaving like that. Wallace was just a fud.
  17. 'cept if an imaginary job offer comes in fae America He hud his chance and blew it.
  18. Fuckin' Jock Wallace, he wis a roaring success win't he?
  19. Never mind copying anybody, get our own ideas.

You've done this before, too much detail there
  21. Aye, consider that for a bit of perspective next time we lose an SPL gemme
  22. Loads of great games in my memory but humping Livi 6-2 on the last day of the season we finished bottom was particularly pleasing. The mid-70s wins over rangers and Celtic stick in my mind, one that Andy Ross posted the highlights up here when we beat Rangers 3-1, Scottish Cup coming back from 2-0 down to beat Celtic 3-2, beating Stoke and Spurs in the Texaco Cup although I don't remember too much about the games, just being there as a young boy was special. Painful defeats included consecutive semi final losses to Airdire and the Vile h*n in the 70s, both in controversial circumstances, Celtic in semi finals twice in the 80s (h**s one I was in Corfu but felt it just as keenly, spoiled my night almost so I had to go out to forget) but worst was perhaps losing 3-2 to Berwick which sent us to 3rd bottom of the First Division in 1979. Thankfully that's as low as it's got for us and we recovered to push up the table.
  23. FWIW our heritage must not begin after the war like yon Greatest Ever shite. As stated above, Sailor Hunter was probably the single most important individual in terms of making the club what it came to be, the style of fitba' (obviously gleaned from reports of the day, and Big Keith's own personal recollections )which brought our first silverware, the dedication he showed in serving the club, taking the game to lesser known parts of the world through summer tours and spreading the gospel. We were effectively the first European Champions in 1927 and should be immensely proud of our history, especially the early to middle part of last century.
