Heard a rumour about Linfield's keeper in our sights. Again good shot stopper but poor with crosses and kicking according to the Blues fan I heard it from.

I don't think we have to worry if the apathy surrounding last night is owt tae go by

There's been worse, a lot worse as St Mirren may be about to find out the First Division sorts out the wheat from the chaff. I've seen us play in front of less than 1,000 after relegation then only 2,000 in Premier matches. It's not just us though, in fact Hearts held the record lowest at one point for under a thousand in a Premier League game so put in prespective last night wasn't so bad, disappointing though it was.
  5. Should always sing that anyway, old time classic that is. Do Accies actually sing it or just us?

Looks like current Pompey template the more I see of it, decent enough and will look good wi' a hoop. Too much to hope for white shorts and hooped socks to finish it off I suppose but claret shorts are better if not white. Could be worse, looks to me like Preston got Pompey's 2 year old template design.
  7. He should make the most of tonight, probably the only time no-one will slag him.
  8. Two strange occurrences tonight in our favour if the SPL delegate wis watching and listening closely. 1 - Opposing goalie being roundly applauded for his bye kick taking technique 2 - Dougie McDonald receiving similar applause for only giving Klimpls a ticking off instead of booking him. We are Fair Play Champions elect we are
  9. What is clear is the original poster shouldn't be bringing it up if he doesn't know the identity of the player involved. FWIW it's clearly Bob Malcolm
  10. Hibs fans will know plenty about back door entry
  11. The guy who scored the winner against Brechin to win promotion in 1984/85?
  12. That thread about the monies due to the team was misleading as there was never an issue of non-payment from the Trust. The issue was more one of confusion caused by people who didn't know the details of the arrangement and should not have been made public. A simple message to let the Trust know our new bank account had been activated so we could accept the cheque turned into a messy cyber spat which could and should have been avoided if the original message had got through to the intended recipient. There is no issue with payment of monies from the Trust and never has been but arrangements at our side have been at fault in terms of getting the right type of bank account sorted before it did.
  13. Went in to pay mine today, I'm sure I saw a leaflet mentioning spreading payments over 10 months. Didn't pay much attention to it really so I may be wrong.
  14. Thing is you can't lose as many games as we did that season without turning in some gash performances but overall folks memories of that season were of a young team giving their all but unfortunately coming up short. I can't remember walking out of a home game feeling they hadn't tried their hardest. IIRC two games at Firhill were as bad as anything I've seen but that's been forgotten because of the effort and subsequent sense of feeling hard done by on many more occasions.
  15. My earliest awaydays were on yon bus as Pie says, many great trips shouting Ruuuuude Boysssss at the big yin further along the aisle. Also can't mind exactly when it stopped but I'd started going by train by 1983
  16. Sounds like a good night then and very successful. Big well done to all concerned. Here's to more.
  17. I know some might not go into the football teams section so I hope it's okay for me to put up this link to the post regarding our presentation night. WTFC Re-union

I played for North Motherwell at The Stadium, great memories of our own personal 'Wembley' style bowl. Played a cup-tie there with WTFC last season although had another game called off thanks to a fuckin' great hole just after the 18 yard line which filled with water when it rained. Don't know what happened to that. Shame cos it was a smashing pitch at one time and a great venue for us amateurs.
  19. Fuxake ma heid really hurts noo and ah've only read this thread last 10 minutes
  20. It's an Old Firm argument that fans of bigger clubs subsidise smaller clubs by sharing the gate proceeds. That's the way it was always done before they two got their heads together to milk most of the money from our game. If they don't have us to play against the have nothing therefore sharing the gates is reasonable. If they want to keep gate proceeds then can play wi' themselves. Sharing the money out should hopefully see more clubs playing on a level playing field, at least it would reduce the gap further. I'd have no problem 'subsidising' a smaller club in order to see them play at Fir Park, still happens in Cup-ties so it should do so in league games as well IMO
  21. You sure you don't read OSB Seriously that's my kind of thinking, when the Diddy Ten chairman were threatening to pull out a few years ago that's what should have happened, the TV companies widnae be long in deciding the 'biggest game in the world' had lost it's appeal halfway through their campaign. They need us more than we need them, our chairman just haven't realised it yet.
  22. Only thing I care about is the fact he's staying, good news for us.
  23. That'll be post-season friendlies
