  1. Been there Melvin, after the Hibs game when the stewards were told to enforce the no standing rule strictly. Told my wife that night I wouldn't be renewing the following year and had my kids in tears. They don't deserve to miss out so I carried on with it but hopefully this new thinking 'up by' will continue through to the treatment of supporters and make the experience of going to Well games an enjoyable one again instead of a them and us scenario whenever we set foot inside those turnstiles.

    St Mirren V Hibs

Historically I seem to remember we win a fair percentage of 'must win' games, of course perception of 'must win' is up to the individual but from memory games like the Falkirk relegation winner takes all clash in 92 where the result did actually directly affect league standings after the game are my definition of 'must win'
  3. If behaviour of fans is included I'm surprised we were even in it
  4. Only so many ways to say "Good on the club and John Boyle" though int'there? FWIW my feeling is financial considerations finally overcame JB's pride. He's been told since the beginning of this illfated venture the figures likely wouldn't add up, fair to say OF attendances have dropped further but whatever the reason the right thing has eventually been done. Encouraging to hear from the AGM that existing fans would be put first, this is another encouraging move so let's hope the sentiment will last and repairs to those bridges he burned can finally get underway
  5. We'll find something. I like this Let's hope that's true, it's a good start but only that, long way still to go to win many over.

    Rumour Quashed

Says a lot that the only place I read about this rumour is the quashing of it here. Now I'm off to post a rumour that our new strip will have a proper hoop. I'll expect that quashed by Friday lunchtime else we'll know it's true.
  7. When the TV money came in it should have been used to peg prices, instead it went to greedy agents and players. Right that wrong and things may change but that's not just our problem that's for football as a whole to sort.
  8. Way too serious, if they unveil it now there's nothing tae look forward tae.
  9. Not a shoulder IMO, that were a bit from under the arms I'd say. Hoop/Band sneaking in at the top of the pic, wee circles are on the side of the torso I'm sure. Good this intit?

And that is exactly why I say it needs to be restored to our kits. You don't think of it as traditional because those in charge of our club at a certain period didn't deem it worthwhile to protect that tradition. It's not my tradition or those of my generation even, it's our clubs and it was diluted by decision makers in the 70s, 80s & 90s so I would like it brought back before it's forgotten completely. I reckon when you have something distinctive like that it's worth fighting to keep. The fact it's been ignored for so long is all the more reason to keep banging on about it. Might only be a shirt to some but I see it as something special which makes our kits distinctive against a very plain backdrop of other designs.
  17. There ye go, now if we qualify I can look back to see when we're playing and how my holibags are gonnae clash. But I can worry about that if it happens rather than go change my holidays to suit something that may or may not come to fruition.

Like I said in modern times there's been a shift but when I was growing up in the 70s it was 31 years out of much less than 123 so in my mind it was traditional, understand now? Young uns now obviously look at it differently cos it was lost for so long it became just another design rather than something worth preserving. That was wrong, it should have been kept so we're now at a stage where many fans don't consider it traditional, therefore it should be brought back forthwith and retained until such times as it is considered as such once more otherwise we lose it forever.

Glad to see you've started to learn. Stick to tradition cos it's well....tradition intit?
  20. As The Lip says IF we get there you'll find out soon enough. I find it strange this thirst for knowledge that may not be needed.
  21. They were actually relegated that day if memory serves me right. Sweet
