They'll just offer their bum chums a bit more dosh to help them oot. Is there a change in the offing likes?

So let me get my head round this, we have already agreed to 2nd place being worth a lot less following Rangers demise? And then we've agreed that 2nd place should lsoe a lot more on top of that? So in effect we're already potentially losing out if we keep our place, kind of kept that quiet eh? In simple terms everyone bar ra Shellic is prepared to take the biggest hit to make it work. And as David points out, when Rangers are due to take their 'rightful' place again this deal won't apply and we'll back to the massive disparity between the top 2 places and the rest. Still stinks. Anyone know exactly what we're playing for as things stand?

Last Utd game I got there after half time and hte ignorant bastard at the East gate widnae let us in even when he was shown valid season ticket books so guess it's just yer luck.

Don't shoot, don't score
-
Proof we should throw Celtic out
-
18 is the only way, stop fucking about with our game and just get back to a simple league format, best team wins.

Funnily enough once I'd finshed applauding Lasley off I shouted "Ye didnae kick him hard enough, he's got up"

They had built a distillery under the seats. Allegedly

True, I've argued for years now it's not the Old Firm buses leaving town that cost us fans, as there aren't that many Old Firm matchgoing fans from Motherwell now compared to years ago. Our biggest problem is the lazy arses who sit in the pub and watch the satellite feed of their particular OF team. Get TV to fuck, preferably with the OF in tow and we will have a meaningful league with better crowds paying less to watch home grown players we can relate to on a fraction of current salaries.

Folk have better things to do with their money now, simple as that, IMO summer fitba' wid help cos seats are torture in winter time when yer movements are restricted but cost is far more restrictive. Best go back to amateur to make it affordable and value for money
-
Or in the case of Braidhusrt where they fill the team up with the players from their academy set-up meaning ordinary youngsters still don't get the chance to play, no 2nd or 3rd team like we used to have. Christ I would never have played fitba' if it wisnae for the Thirds in First Year.

I got involved with my boys team a couple of years ago and I can confirm the grass roots has not changed for the better. Grass roots as far as the bigwigs are concerned starts and ends with the pro-youth/academy set-up put in place to ensure the best youngsters receive the very best coaching available. Unfortunately late developers are more likely to miss out. Grass roots to me is the level I'm at, local boys club on manky, under maintained pitches that are unplayable for most of the winter months. Ravenscraig, for all the trumpeting, is more or less out of our league, so it's still a case of those and such as those in my opinion. Every ash pitch in Scotland should be turned into astro so that all kids can have access to decent facilities, not just the elite. I'm pretty sure there will be boys coming on in their play from the age of 14 or 15 and develop into really good players even without the specialist coaching the elite receive, likelihood is the game will miss out on these lads. Investment required yes, but the prices charged for astros mean that investment will see a guaranteed return over time, it's not like it's money poured away and lost. As things stand even the elite structure isn't producing the players it should.

So basically everyone gets a wee bit of what they want, except the fans?

I had no intention of going to the meeting today as my mind is already closed to the proposals but if there is a genuine framework for working towards a bigger league I can live with it for now. I fully expect fuck all good to come of it though. On another note anything that keeps the SPL in place long enough to call Charles Green's bluff gets my vote as well so hopefully we don't rush into merging the governing bodies just yet.
-
Easily sorted, deny Old Firm fans the same luxury, after all it was them that got drink banned in the first place.
-
Maybe they should guage fans opinions first and stop wasting everyones time by trying to sell us something we've made clear we don't want.
-
Heard it beofre, last time they came up with some cockended reconstruction suggestion. I coud live with it if there was a definite framework in place to work towards that goal but there won't be, it's a quick fix to keep the money where they all want it kept. If they're going to try sell it that way it has to be set in stone that it's the end goal and everything inbetween is working towards it. Bet ye it's not though.

We don't have enough quality teams to make a 20 team league interesting probably, but that's because we elected to bring in an elite structure which would benefit just a few clubs. If we opened it out more teams would benefit from an even financial spread and catch up fairly quickly so in a few years we could well have enough teams to make the league more interesting. Personally I'm more interested in Motherwell and watching us play the same teams over and over and over and over is not as attractive as watching us play the same teams over and over. The smaller set-up is boring so what's the difference of bringing in a boring bigger set-up? Answer is simply those with the money want to keep it. That's wrong so I'm still of the opinion 2 leagues of 18 or 20 to protect those who are capable of running a full time set-up and help them to catch up with the rest and give us a decent league in a few years time.

Jesus wept, this gets dafter and dafter. SFL were meant to be our saviours.

Just about all your suggestions get my agreement, 50/50 split of all games being the only difference, not just cup ties as it's that just now. I would tell Celtic & Rangers to get to fuck now, and take their TV lapdogs with them. It's down to them we're all so reliant on TV money whereas that money was meant to safeguard the future of the game. All that's happened is greedy bastard players and agents inflated their demands the minute the deals were signed over and above the level of new income meaning prices had to then go up to cover the excess instead of the additional revenue helping to keep fans costs down. Our wage bill should be covered by season ticket and gate money, our own advertising revenue and sponsorship monies, if that means the whole squad walks out the door I do not give a flying fuck, I'll watch the laddies for the next 3 or 4 years as they take the chance to make a name for themselves. We are already partway down the road after administration so we'll be in better shape than most if that scenario ever happened, which I very much doubt but I seriously could not give a toss if it all goes tits up due to continued mismanagement of our game at the highest level. In fact I think the game deserves it for allowing clowns like Doncaster & Regan anywhere near their positions.
-
Being perfectly honest, been bored with it for years, stopped away games a while back. I go to home games out of habit mostly and want to keep the kids interested but the most important point in keeping going to those home games is, that's where my lifelong friends are every other week, which is why I can't see me really giving up. It's that tie-in which keeps me going back at the end of the day and despite what the arseholes running our game throw at us, that will keep me going still no doubt. What else do you do of a weekend? Take every opportunity to get it out your system and moan like fuck at those who deserve the pelters mind. They've ruined our game, our pastime, even life in some cases where folk take it just too seriously but all they can see are pound signs. Best get it done with, ruin the game completely, move the likes of Doncaster onto the next balance sheet he needs to pore over and pick up the pieces to retrieve what we can of our once proud game. Scorched Earth policy I think is the term I want.
-
I don't trust Doncaster or Regan to deliver and can't believe they've survived the summer debacle without even a vote of confidence. That should have been the first item on any agendas then with someone who knows what they're fucking doing in position we could maybe sit down and have a meaningful discussion about the future of the game. The way things stand, any suggestion coming out of any meeting was always going to be a pigs ear of a plan designed to create more money to spend on players wages and fuck the supporters over. I'll not be attending any meeting to be told how this is a good thing for us cos Neil says so, if it's a meeting to garner opinion it might be worthwhile but all I read is how they are going to explain their reasons for backing this plan and I'm afraid that is very much a case of closing the stable door after yer nag has bolted. Been there before, Doncaster himself was at one meeting where he constantly told us how finances were restrictive to any proposal put to him, without hesitating to try and take on board what was being said to him. Pre-conceived agendas do not make for an open and constructive meeting.
