We could have the Champions League spot in the bag by the time we play Rangers, you're looking too far ahead
-
We built a stand far larger than we would normally need to accomodate the buggers, that should be enough. There is a section of Motherwell fans who will not attend Old Firm games here, that shows, and it always has. I can understand their feelings if they don't want to be subjected to their bile outside and inside the ground. It is only one factor though, kick off times, live on telly, they all contribute.

Was always going to be that way, has been all season so now our run-in begins in earnest.

Solid investment in the right people and skills, we've shown it doesn't all have to be about money, more about how you use it. There are some right thick bastards running our game if they can't see that. Neil Doncaster top of the list, the man is purely finance driven and has no idea of how to run the game. Folk like him have led us to where the game is now, and as long as money is the single most important issue to clubs that won't change.

David this place would blow up if and when we revert back to our normal status. And Steelboys beard would probably self combust. These last few years have been a real purple patch in our clubs history, and given the crowds we still fail to attract even more remarkable. 4th place will be a major achievement, 3rd unbelievable, Champions League just mind blowing for a club our size. I'll avoid the 'punching' line cos it upsets some wee delicate souls but believe me, runs of form such as we have experienced of late are the exception rather than the norm. So fucking enjoy them just now instead fof nitpicking and running down the players who can still etch their name in our folklore.

I almost clicked on that, why should we care what they think of our club? Given their background the last place we would seek opinion would be green and white tinted views, and if it's being offered it is best ignored.

All I would say is you set up for a point and fail then it's obvious what the outcome will be. Go for a win and fall short you might get that point you crave. Age old problem on how to deal with the Old Firm but the majority of times we have been successful against the we have givne them no respect and got fucked right in about them. Personally I write these games off anyway but I sure as hell would feel a whole lot better if we went down fighting after a battling display and giving the c***s a game they would remember.

Saw the guy in the shop putting the posters up for this and this thread confirms exactly my thoughts. Although I have a feeling Moe's at the wind-up

Fuck there's a first eh?

There's a big difference between resigned and disagreeing. If our club vote to let them back in then I'm all for a vote to oust those responsible come the full blown Society is launched, all the while I'm probably resigned to the fact they will get in should it come to it. Time for a bit of courage and some of the faith in our game that it's obvious more fans have than club officials.
-
Well; they'd need to produce evidence of said information to keep their jobs wouldn't they?
-
You're just making things up now, they stole the points that day, didnae deserve to lose that game.

If the club votes for Rangers in a fashion which infuriates many fans I would hope they would then join up and oust those who took the vote against the obvious wishes of the wider fan base. OUr views are fairly clear, the majority are against a newco Rangers taking the old SPL place, simple as that. The Society can be a great thing but the folk in power just now must realise it can also be agreat way of bringing them to book if they make unpopular decisions on our behalf. Called democracy. Viva the Revolution Motherwell

Agreed, fact is we are where we are due to our ability to beat everyone else on a regular basis. Much as I love beating the Old Firm the bigger picture is we can qualify for Europe without doing that so I'm not all that fussed. Rather that than finish bottom whilst beating everyone in the top 6 but no-one around us. Let's face it, if we could beat the Old Firm we'd be Champions, and that's not going to happen realistically is it? I'll take what we have currently thank you very much.

I knew Tartan Copper and Dazzer were the same person, didn't know about the other one though.

You've just went back and requoted that from the week before Skippy Sunday, Found oot.

One on International Drive when I was there, in fact there were 2 I think, both Celtic pubs strangely, wouldn't show the Motherwell Ranges game during my stay even stranger
-
I remember the Football Aid games fondly, got to play in 2 of them and was a fantastic day out. Fans v fans is the way to do it, hopefully the ability levels of the fans in the teams even out and it's a game worth taking part in.
-
Yaaay, it's only taken something like 15 years to get here but finally, finally it comes to fruition. Great idea and the winning bidders will have an absolute ball. Hope it raises a good few quid as well
-
That's all right then, I was getting worried for a minute
-
Is that a suggestion for the display? If so I like it.

It's about time everyone lived within their means anyway so taking the TV money out of the equation might solve a few problems, create a few initially yes but to me that money should never be counted as guaranteed income. TV money if it comes in should be used to bring gate prices down, everthing else goes to run the football club.

See I already feel the SPL is corrupt, SFA as well, yet I still go to all home games and some aways, cos I enjoy meeting up with folk I've got to know fairly well over the years. If I had any principles at all I'd have stopped going years ago probably but it's what I do. Have to wait and see what comes out of this before I decide what to do but at the moment it's hypothetical really although I fully expect Rangers SPL place to be protected at all costs by the usual self preservation attitudes. Sticks in the throat yes, but then every single Old Firm game at Fir Park leaves me with the same feeling of being cheated but I still go back for more. Daft of course but I'll bet there are a few more like me.
