  1. NOt that many h**s to house in an entire stand, for all that was there we're as well putting up the Away Stand Full signs.
  2. Age old problem to which there is no real answer, one stand of Well fans are going to be upset at whatever decision is taken. I had a Main Stand season ticket as a kid and can remember Old Firm games being a nightmare with them sitting around and behind us. And they're not your typical Main Stand punter from any other club, i.e. fairly reserved compared to other fans elsewhere. The traditional method is use the Main Stand wings, the Cooper decision brought about vehement protest, so would the East so I'm afraid to say it looks like the status quo is most likely to remain. Not ideal I know and maybe better policing, dare I say braver policing, might help make it bearable.
  3. There lies the reason for our good form, sacrifice results against those above and be consistent against the rest. Been in your situation before and whilst I hate losing the way we do against the OF, I've come to accept these as bonus games. I don't get too upset over them as we're not expected to win anyway, the bigger picture is shown in the league standings.
  4. It was meant to be aye, one or two slipped through the net mind. (no' me guv honest)but the weans had a ball (figuratively speaking)
  5. If I was a Killie fan I'd be praising my own team for doing so well against an obviously good side, and asking why they couldn't do that more consistently.
  6. Signed up weeks ago but went up for a nosey tonight, glad I did. Superb night laid on, kids playing on the pitch, players and staff mixing freely with the fans. Relaxed atmosphere all round, way it should be. Well done everyone involved. Long queues for the sign up as well, so encouraging signs when all's said and done.
  7. Let's play Call My Bluff, see who needs who the most.Neil Doncasters arse wid be making buttons.
  8. and were the two instances quoted different seasons?
  9. Sure we've had more but cannae be arsed checking. Deftinitely forced us to play both OF teams away one year, and reckon there was another where we ended up with only 18 home games.
  10. Heard this on Saturday, potential for sure.
  11. Yip but he was manager as well, no-one else would have picked him I'm sure.
  12. Hope rather than expectation always my motto where Motherwell are concerned and I have that hope for this game as much as any other. We're Motherwell, who the fuck knows!!!
  13. Not really news though, we all know how good our fans can be
  14. Over-reaction as usual IMO, we are still in pole position and the prize is for us to lose. Yes performances like yesterday will cost us if repeated but the reason we're so far ahead at this stage is that performances like yesterday have been few and far between. Reaction needed next week obviously but we are still the ones in control.
  15. He might prefer to stay at a big Champions League club.
  16. Yes he has but it doesn't change my assessment of him, he's not a natural defender and that shows at times. He's done well filling in there but IMO Saunders is a better right back but McCall might not agree, then again he might fancy sticking Tam further forward when Saunders becomes available again.
  17. He may be better there but he's not a RB, says more about his ability in midfield tbh. Bit of a luxury player and does a job standing in for Saunders but he wouldn't be my first choice there with Bambi fit.
  18. Cos he's a midfielder, not had much to defend this season tbh but when he has been put under pressure I reckon he's been found wanting. Good player IMO but not a right back.
  19. Pish, Motherwell have never been about winning trophies and probably never will, otherwise we'd all have given up decades ago. Playing for 3rd every year and somehow getting to 2nd in this climate is/will be a major achievement and far outweighs anything a five game Cup run could offer, not to mention the financial prize. I revere the Cup FInal squad still like everyone but this achievement will still be ranked up there in 21 years time if we manage it, no questions about that. The Champions League is the prime European competition and for a club as small as ours to compete in it would be unbelievable. This isn't just any 3rd rate Euro qualifier, this is the premium tournament and for me that outweighs a domestic cup every day of the week.
  20. Is the betting thing still not resolved? Spread that about a bit and put off any potential suitors for now
  21. Are you kfidding? The Champions League possibility is almost a once in a lifetime opportunity for a club like ours. League Cup, aye it'd be nice but ahead of qualifying for the CL? Not a chance and only someone with no hope of ever getting to the stage we're at just now would ever come out with a statement like that.
  22. Doubt it, and I don't honestly think it worked last week either. It's just blether for the newspapers, be surprised if any professional actually took any notice of what players and managers say in the papers.
  23. I'd get rid of the SPL to be honest, or at least rejoin the SFL en masse and leave the big jobies in an SPL of 2, bet they widnae be long in getting sick of the Old Firm biggest game in the world after a couple of months.
