  1. Wel it just shows how folk perceive things Andy, I certainly have no wish to continue the Gannon debate ad infinitum but the subject is continually brought up by folk having wee digs, I have to say I can't honestly recall someone starting up a pro-Gannon thread, from memory it's all been reactions in his defence which I reckon is fair dos.
  2. Brown was offered a contract but wanted clauses built in which the club wouldn't agree to. Now the main reason folk like me and others stick up for Gannon is those who still feel the need to slate him even after all this time keep bringing him back up. If Broon wouldn't sign because of small print he's in the same boat as the previous incumbent. Personal likes or dislikes, tales and titttle tattle won't make a case for either but what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. If something seems unfair or not right then it's fair game to be commented on, thing is none of us know for sure what went on with Gannon but too many are prepared to simply believe what they're fed without question. If that's the case then fine but don't keep sniping and expect everyone to agree
  3. I know but couldnae resist. Anyways given we are already a feeder club of sorts it might not be so daft an idea, especially given the Old Firm want to move to England, why not bring England's reserves up here. Would probably be enough to challenge the fuckers.
  4. Well as long as folk keep demonising him I fancy SD might have some help in that respect.
  5. Not at all, saying it merely tells the truth about our position in Scottish fitba'. We're a small club doing very well at present but rest assured we will return to our previous status sometime more than likely. Hopefully the guys on the park will continue punching above our weight for a while though.
  6. How much did we get for McFadyen though, record goal tally and all that but cannae mind how much of a fee Willie attracted. Ma faither spoke highly of him right enough
  7. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing, we always have been fighting against bigger, stronger, more wealthy opponents and doing no' too bad, it's part of our make-up as a club and hopefully always will be.
  8. Relegation? You've bought the bullshit totally then. We lost a few games and slipped to 5th, hardly relegation material, don't forget the run of defeats we had included only 1 to a team below us in the league. Stats can be dressed any way you like but we were nowhere near relegation candidates.
  9. You've took that too far, size 6 would suffice, keep it on the same line. I hate it when a larger font takes a sentence onto the 2nd line. OH aye and.................. "Punching Above Our Weight"
  10. I like the term 'punching above our weight' cos so many folk don't. The fact it is true and annoys so many people is a bonus. I also like the fact it bugs folk, and so many don't like it it seems. Therefore I tend to sway towards using it, just cos other folk hate it. In fact I think I might use it as my sig in future "Punching Above Our Weight" Looks good don't you think?
  11. I don't really see maintenace of the East Stand as being the problem, it's the Main Stand I suspect which is the biggest drain on finances. Can't see your option of closing it being received very well there. So again, we have to make do cos we can't change it anytime soon.
  12. FATCALF Is that sensible and cohesive enough?
  13. Me for one, Fir Park will do until we can afford better, which will be never so suck it up, we're going nowhere anytime soon.
  14. Did we though? From memory first season was dranage problems, next season was frost cos undersoil heating wisnae working, last season it was frozen pipes in the stands and now we have a new phenomenon at work with the authorities 'looking after our welfare' a liitle too much. Yes we've had our faults but we've also had rotten luck.
  15. So you should be, 2 more than you usually get
  16. And they still conveniently ignore the possibility of the ref being in on it.
  17. And for that reason every name I see or hear being talked about just rules them out for me. Bet the media hate it as well, mon the John Boy
  18. Is this walloper serious? The games integrity is compromised every week when one of them bastards in black takes the field
  19. That's the one I thought was requested originally.
  20. And if he's just the same as the rest of them i.e. not a fair linesman??? BTW when the start assisting the refs they can maybe earn the asst tag.
  21. Gannon did a decent job that needed done at that time, difficult to see if anyone else could have done it better on our budget. I tend to like to avoid guys who have had 'big' jobs before us cos they would likely want to stretch the budget like McGhee did.
  22. One thing came up in conversation at the weekend just came back to me there. Years ago the game was very much just a part of the whole day out, perhaps we didn't analyse it so much then because we were too busy enjoying ourselves and actually forgot how bad the fitba' could be cos we were always pished. So for that reason I say bring back the bevvy
  23. And there was me thinking we actually have no' a bad wee team. Broon actually held them back at times I reckon cos we're capable in every department on the field. Overall though the points over performances attitude has a big part to play, Hearts being where they are is testament to that. The one player they have who's half decent cannae stay on his feet long enough, preferring set-pieces to having a go. That frustrates the life out me when I see it, a bit of honesty goes a long way and that is another by-product of foreign TV influences. I even see it in my boys U-12 games, laddies falling about for no reason. No prizes for guessing where they learn that.
