Tickets booked for my anniversary weekend away, was considering it whether game went ahead or not but delighted it's confirmed.

Agree with that, would have been the perfect accompaniment to the Blue kit. Pity, opportunity missed. Oh and black socks with that thank you.
-
As usual we're singing from the same hymn sheet mate, although I'd say some of the not so young could do with some pointers tae
-
You've no' been doon the North then? Oor Evan wears his all the time. That kit UBH posted is belting and as for the kids, tell them it's the new fashion, they'll no' know the difference
-
He came on and knocked yon MIcrophone heid dude fae Everton on his arse right away so I liked him there and then. Young lads will have ups and downs but that first impression gives him some leeway in my book.

Bob Malcolm and extreme moral choice in the same quote???? I had to force myself to keep going when that nugget was given a contract. The merest knowledge of our history should have kept him at arms length but short memories/ignorance meant he darkened our door from the inside. Shocking decision. And he wisnae that good either.

Nah fuck it, am going to Donny the week before still, had my heart set on that trip and its our wedding anniversary so my pennies are going there.
-
We are not a selling club unless we actually get some money in for our 'products' but I'm perfectly happy to give the young lads a chance, no point getting in another striker to limit their opportunities, I'd go with what we have and strengthen elsewhere, hoping obviously the lads swim rather than sink.
-
But then we've been in this same situation before as well and come up trumps, it's what we do. Why the fuck do we hear this panic every close season? Have we no faith?
-
Closely followed by giving Bob Malcolm his first contract, how his eyes werenae opened in that spell I'll never fucking know.
-
Bit confusing that, I thought we were going to buy Hibs and Utd were after McManus.
-
Yer kidding? That's keech!!!

If he was on £3500 a week then someone up by needs sacked. We can't afford to pay wages like that and have to move players on the minute they think they're worth that kind of money.

Pretty much spot on Andy although there are a few more friendships between Donny and Well fans I believe. Frazzles crowd through big Gav as well as some of my mates who joined me on many trips to see them in the 80s. Some of them have been on the phone wanting to travel if this went ahead to renew old acquaintances. Used to be a good few Donny lads travel up here for our last game every season until the SPL started fucking that up with their daft split then moving final game to Sundays. That said there were many more English clubs represented on the last day as well, 1994 saw groups of lads from Donny, Aldershot, Northampton, West Brom, Leeds and possibly more I can't remember all with their Well contact in amongst them at different spots on the terracing behind the goal. Good days them

Ashington wis a'right, who goes to watch the game anyway Highlight wis their right back taking one in the chookies and Big Horse sauntering over from the terracing to offer him a drink of his pint, which was duly accepted and player went back to his game refreshed.

Good yin wee yin

They didn't, they labelled the boxes correctly I'd say, it as more like Burgundy/Orange than C&A
-
Mind Yir Elder saying he was in the shop when the boxes of new tops arrived and the labels were marked maroon/orange

Lose a fair bit of cash if Celtic at home is postponed to allow them to make even more money would we not? Midweek games do not generate as much revenue as weekend, probably televised, games. And anyway who needs a fucking rest? 2 games into the season and you think our players are going to be tired?
-
As for sell on value, we do right well in that respect don't we? I'd be happy with Higdon remaining, happy if he left and Sutton was his replacement, in fact I'd be happy to be stood at my usual seat first weekend of Aug whoever the fuck McCall decides is worthy of that No.9 shirt.
-
It isn't really though is it? Maybe to outsiders and those interested in across the board fairness in a national league set-up, but in Scotland it's pretty much accepted as the norm. About time those running our clubs addressed that issue.
-
Got told today he wasn't well but shocked to come home and find he'd passed away, weird. Condolences to his family, remember him well as a player and had the privilege of playing in a Former Players game alongside him. Nice fella.

Wouldn't agree there, I haven't the time to read through all the rules for omissions like that, that's why there are guys elected onto the board. Another gripe for me is a demand for annual subs just a matter of months after paying my last instalment. Apparently the board decided to split renewal dates and ours came in the first batch. Having burst my arse to get the initial payment for the full family, last thing I needed/wanted was a renewal notice at the same time as season tickets, road tax & MOT all fall due just a few months later. I expected my renewal to fall a year after the final payment of the initial fee so was caught out, again through lack of communication when the decision was taken. Granted there has been no demands made and I'll probably pay it when times are better and I would expect that is acceptable but again a wee bit prior notice could have been given when the it was agreed to take that route.

We had a lower cost ( and in my opinion better) option in Saunders, still can't believe we let him go. Always rated him the better right back of the two

Since when did we take players on trial anyway, particularly those just up the road who have featured against us on many occasions?
