Not really, he decorates his Christmas Tree in Motherwell scarves so natural comparison from his point of view.

Radical thought, 20M divided equally (as should be the case) between 18 teams would give us diddy teams slightly more than we get just now. Fuck the Old Firm they should be reduced to equal terms.

Playing each other 4 times a season was an obvious flaw in the Premier set-up from the start but everyone's view was clouded by the prospect of 4 Old Firm games. Finances are tight aye but greed brought us to where we are so I don't consider financial arguments as generally that means the arguer is looking after their own interests. It's what is required for the overall game in this country, I know we wont get it cos at the end of the day the financial argument will win through, usually to the benefit of the Bigot Bros, but the attendances will continue to decline, prices wil continue to rise, the Catch 22 will continue until we have no game then everyone will go "Wisnae ma fault". Folk running oor game need to see the bigger picture, the Old Firm are only 2 clubs and they need everyone else to survive same as we need them.

Not sure where to put this so Club Chat for maximum exposure for now. If Mods want to move it feel free. On Friday coming at 11am there will be a short service to spread Elky's ashes at Fir Park, anyone who wishes to attend is more than welcome. His immediate family are coming down to give anyone from this neck of the woods the chance to say their goodbyes in case they didn't make it up North for his funeral. Not sure if there's a dress code for this kind of thing, haven't been to one before being totally honest but all those wishing to attend are invited to gather at the Chapman Building from 10.45 onwards.

Cheeky Don't think it would bring us into the big time, too far down the road to contemplate such a hike but I have come round to thinkiing it would make it better. Back to a 2 Division set-up would also be an improvement IMO. Past changes have not improved our game therefore we have to look at a set-up that would improve it rather than one which will benefit the Old Firm, as has been the case with almost every change in our game until now.

Can hardly call it a knee jerk reaction when it's taken me over 40 years to come round now can you? It might not be a reason for folks not going but you could argue that summer fitba would be a good reason to go. Anyways you never asked me why I didnae bother going tae Inverness or Inverurie last year for that matter.

It certainly is mate, mind I used to argue you can run about to keep warm in winter Not that I'm retiring or owt but my time's about up for playing so standing watching in sub-zero temperatures just isnae appealing any more. We also need a bigger league, play each team twice in the league to avoid the boring repetitive nonsense we have now and spread the money about more. Should have done it years ago so it might be too late already but the Premier League has been one massive failure in my book.

Think you'll find more and more converts as the years go by. This year in particular will see many more jump on the bandwagon. Me? I'm a traditionalist mainly but can see the benefits looming larger every season, a winter shutdown wouldn't work because you can't predict exactly when the weather will be at it's worst therefore a radical change is probably best, missing out the majority of potentially bad months. Girls fitba' changed last year, forgot to tell the councils who run the pitches so no games n June and July as per normal but they finished before the realy bad weather kicked in although near the end of the season (November) one or two games fell victim. Looking at last couple of weeks there, I wasn't fussed about games being on or off due to the cold, "fuck that for a gemme of sodjies" I said to myself, how many more felt that way? So I suppose I'd be in favour if it came to it. Will anyone ask though?

Didnae know this either. Remember we got a free-kick in a game against Morton I think. The buzz that went round the stadium was amazing cos it was his first chance to show what he could do in front of us home fans. Memory might play tricks but I seem to recall he scored it, League Cup tie maybe?

One of the single biggest shite decisions the OF have been allowed to steamroller through in the games history.
-
Yep absolutely, started it the other night but unsure which heading to use. Stuck between; Fat Calf Yabba's Turd Wayne Kerr Fah Khemahl or Fe King Sanny..... but I've filed it under "Jamesy McJimsey His Arguments are Rather Flimsy" for now.

Are you trying to suggest steelboy isn't right after all? Shurely not.

No mate it was a mid season tourney for them that didnae qualify for Europe. We did, and we humped 'em, not to mention Stoke City with Gordon Banks in goal.

The Trust have what? 160 members? Supporters Association? 100-odd? Hardly representative of the entire support without sounding like I'm having a pop at those organisations cos I'm just stating facts. I could argue One Step Beyond represents more, GLF could argue similar but that would be missing the point. There are more, far more unrepresented fans and many of those fans have something to say, anything that gives them a chance has to be welcomed and this could be a direct route for them. More to be welcomed than run down I'd say.

What would you suggest. Fans Advisory Committee? Personally I think you'll go a long way to beat Motherwell Supporters Society Anyways back on topic, anything that brings fans and club closer can only be good, been banging this particular drum for many years so it's nice to see someone finally taking up the cudgel and actually doing something about it. Good luck with it Leeann.
