Correct. If you are a free agent when the transfer window shuts you are out of contract and can sign for anyone at anytime. If you are contracted when it shuts you can't sign until the next window. This is in Europe/EU/UEFA (not sure which one. Most likely EU and Bosman related). A player can sign for a team in USA or Australia, for example.

Over 5 hours drive between those 2 Swedish teams, according to Google. Only about 30 minutes between us and Hearts. Just erring on the side of caution. The club always suggest waiting for official confirmation. I reckon both Scottish clubs will be pushing for the home leg first.
-
Told you it was hard to judge UEFA. They've just said that the draw groups were selected randomly and not solely based on co-efficient. The team names will not be drawn. Only numbers for all groups.
-
Hearts could also have potentially won a watch if Anorthosis are thrown out and and they draw Dila Gori. They're the lowest seeds left in the tournament. They've only been seeded due to the fact that no outcome to the match has been decided yet.
-
Sporting Lisbon Bordeaux Hapoel tel-Aviv Levante Sparta Prague Changed due to abandoned game at Anorthosis. Dila Gori potentially included as seeds and in Hearts group. Lucky Hearts.
-
Nothing definite yet. UEFA have a funny habit of complicating things with their draw procedures. It could turn out to be completely different. Don't know exactly when it will be confirmed. I'm away to bed.
-
Just looked on the UEFA.com app on my phone and according to that the Anorthosis game is still going on. Currently in the 240th minute of injury time. I'd assume they'll have to forfeit the game given it was 3 - 0 with about 7 minutes to go when their fans invaded the pitch.
-
All change. Looks like this: Liverpool FC Twente APOEL Nicosia Sparta Prague Levante Hearts: Inter Bordeaux Brugge Steaua Young Boys
-
Bastard! It's just on the UEFA site that it's going to be 6 groups, not 7 like last year. Told you they could/would change it. Give me 5 minutes.
-
I putting my neck on the line and saying they'll swap the lower seeded Belgian side so Hearts will have Partizan and we'll have Genk.
-
Rapid Vienna just scored a 90th minute penalty to go through on away goals. Maritimo also through on away goals. So it looks like: Group 7 Bordeaux APOEL Nicosia Rosenborg Partizan Belgrade/Racing Genk Vaslui The reason for 2 at position 4 is that the Group 6 has 2 seeded Belgian teams and one may swap out but I'm not sure on the rule as to whether you can't have 2 from the same nation in the same group, or 2 can't draw each other ie one seed and one non-seed. My usual disclaimer - UEFA could quite easily completely change the way it's done. This is just for fun. For the record this might be Hearts group: Eindhoven Brugge Sparta Prague Partizan/Genk Dnipro

Replace Poznan with Rosenborg My spreadsheet fucked up there.
-
Scrap that. Assuming the result stands with Famagusta and Dila Gori it's this: Bordeaux APOEL Nicosia Lech Poznan Partisan Belgrade FC Vaslui Still 2 games on the go, though, that the unseeded teams are currently going through.
-
No idea what will happen with Famagusta. As it stands: Inter FC Twente Hapoel Tel-Aviv Heerenveen
-
So Bilbao through but Anorthosis have lost that 2nd goal and are now down to 10 men. I'm away to play 5s but I'll do my best to update as soon as I get back in. Remember, it's all for fun. Unless I've already got it right. Edit - Anorthosis just conceded a 3rd. Looks like it will be all change again.
-
PAOK and Anorthosis also 1 goal away from extra time
-
Things have changed already. Unseeded Horsens beat Elfsborg. As it stands, assuming all other seeds go through: Sporting Lisbon Athletic Bilbao PAOK Thessaloniki Anorthosis Famagusta This is just for fun, mind.

62 teams split in to 7 groups of 8 or 10. Although UEFA haven't confirmed the only way it fits is 4 8s and 3 10s. Teams are listed from top seed to bottom seed depending on co-efficient. 1st to 7th seed go in to groups as top seeds, 8th to 14th as 2nd seeds, and so on. 29th to 31st and 60th to 62nd seeds go in to group 5, 6 & 7 as 5th and 10th seeds repectively. Two teams from the same country can't be in the same draw group as each other so one may be swapped in to another group with a team of the same seeding level. As I said UEFA haven't confirmed this but this is roughly how last year's draw worked.
-
OK. I can now do this without getting pulled up. And, of course, just for fun. If all seeds go through tonight, which is unlikely, then I reckon these will be the seeds in our draw group: CSKA Moscow AZ Alkmaar Steaua Bucuresti Newcastle United Racing Genk A few days ago it was this

I wish! Chris Humphrey's just tweeted Do you think I should point him in the right direction?
-
Have a wee look at this. See what you think.

It's all gaag's fault! He asked first. I was going to suggest starting a new thread.

Sorry for actually doing this at this point but I resurrected my old spreadsheet from the Nancy draw. If all seeds go through in CL and EL meaning all non-seeds drop from CL then, by my reckoning seeds in our section will be: Sporting Lisbon Athletic Bilbao POAK Thessaloniki Anorthosis Famagusta Obviously one goal in either competition for any team could completely change that.
-
The list of potential opponents can change right up until the last few hours before the draw. Those already qualified, plus winners from this round, plus losers from Champions League all go in and get split in to groups of ten or twelve dependent on seeding - 5/6 seeds, 5/6 non-seeds. Also no 2 clubs from the same country can be in the same draw group hence the reason there may have to be several changed to groups before the draw. If I remember rightly, when we drew Nancy, we were originally in the draw group with AC Milan but had to get shifted due to two teams from the Czech Republic in another group. It had also totally changed due to an injury time goal somewhere (can't remember) that meant an unseeded team went through in the Champions League and a seeded team dropped down. edit - found the spreadsheet that I used at the time We were in a group with Milan, Besiktas, Spartak Moscow, Hertha Berlin and Partizan Belgrade and that changed to Valencia, Brugges, Sparta Prague, Man City and Nancy
