  1. I think that is true but there are at least two exceptions - Stuttgart who are owned by Mercedes and Wolfsburg owned by Volkswagen.
  2. Stephen Frail has clarified that he's still signed with us so, I guess, may feature towards the end of the season if his recovery goes well.
  3. To be fair to MJC he just seems to be a 'glass half empty' kind of chap.
  4. Not interested in any of that. Just my opinion that offering any player a pay-cut to stay on for another two years is very likely to see them leave.
  5. It was the Czech / German lad Dan Twardzik wasn't it? He actually wasn't a bad keeper, just only tall enough for 5-a-side goals.
  6. I'm so glad that you're not our head of recruitment. I accept that he has been less consistent than usual this season but he's been capped by Scotland since his last contract was signed and that achievement can't be rewarded with a pay-cut.
  7. Worse than Gunnar Nelson, Craig Samson or Stevie Woods?
  8. Alan Gow must be in with a shout for the no. 9 shirt in this team.
  9. I'm not bothered where he goes as long as he leaves Celtic for cash this window. Wherever he ends up next will hopefully be a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
  10. Cedric Kipré having to endure English football fans on their finest behaviour today as West Brom were knocked out of the cup by Wolves.
  11. We're going full Stuart Pearce mode and The Big Ox will save the day.
  12. Thinking back to the furore surrounding certain signings that supposedly hadn't had a proven goalscoring record prior to signing for us - Shaw did. Not defending him as it really didn't work out but on paper he is the kind of player that we ought to be looking out for.
  13. Nothing against Shaw at all and I agree that his signing made sense. The fact that his loan has been cut short suggests to me that there will be a forward signing up soon. There's no way that Shaw would have been allowed to leave if there was no-one coming in.
  14. Nope, nor was Wilkinson. His record suggested that he was worth the gamble but it didn't work out. We moved him on for cash so not a disaster. Shaw probably wasn't part of the recruitment process and was very much a last-minute signing to cover injuries, which he did, although not as well as we hoped.
  15. Yep, I'd agree with all of that. Don't like goalies as captains either and thought that Butcher could have taken it on but then he got injured.
  16. On the subject of Conor Wilkinson, he was signed on a free transfer, scored a couple of goals but it didn't really work out for him. He then went to Colchester for an undisclosed fee so the club made a profit on that deal. It could be said that he shouldn't have been signed up in the first place but SK recognised this and managed to sell him on which provided the club with vital funds.
  17. Young lad that did well at Partick Thistle a couple of years back and was highly thought of before moving to Dundee where he did alright.
  18. Martin Dale withdrew him from the squad saying that clubs in England and Scotland were in talks with him. The rest is guesswork.
  19. Few former players yesterday and P.J. Morrison was definitely the best of the bunch. We'll never know if he would have been good enough at Fir Park but he looks decent and could play at a higher level than Alloa. Morgyn Neill had a fairly good game but seems to have found his level. Connor Salmon took his goal really well but didn't offer much else and Hetherington was quite anonymous.
  20. I think that they can be forgiven for that because of the number of injured forwards that we had then and the lack of time and options at the end of the window.
  21. He's seemingly been playing regularly and is contracted until 2025 so it would be odd if Charlton let him go. Definitely the sort of player that we should be after rather than someone like Halliday - younger, non-O.F., decent career up until now.
