  1. I don't completely agree with that. While the results have been very disappointing, the players are still putting in the effort and pinching points here and there that I do not believe would have been won under Hammell. A lot of the players looked to have given up towards the end of his tenure but I don't see that this time.
  2. Very misleading headline, this quote just about sums up the reality: "If people want to say this is the biggest game of the season and it means everything, then fine, but I would argue that what happens on Saturday will not have a direct bearing on what happens in May. But it can have an impact on what comes in the coming weeks, in terms of building momentum."
  3. I'd be tempted to go 4-4-2 for this one as Livi don't pose much of a goal threat and we need two up front to put pressure on their defence. So maybe: Kelly Spencer McGinn Blaney O'Donnell Spittal Paton Zdravkovski Gent Biereth Someone Else
  4. And Livi still struggling to score any goals.
  5. With all due respect, that's shite. The manager tells each player what his responsibility is on the day, gives him all of the information that he needs. Sadly, we have players that are either not good enough or players that just lose concentration in key areas. I still believe that this team can still dig us out of the mire and that SK is the man to lead them but it is going to be tough and 10th place has to be our aim now.
  6. McGinn only played half the game so Kelly gets my vote as he made a couple of good saves and generally looks a bit more composed than in recent matches.
  7. Can't blame any manager for players playing bad passes, taking poor first touches and not tracking runners from midfield.
  8. Relieved that it was only two, slight improvement second half.
  9. Bad habits? Like having to have the last word? I'd rather read posts by someone with strong opinions - whether I agree or not - and provides reasoning for those opinions.
  10. Wilkinson is a quality finisher and it is not his fault that he has been pushed out wide or dropped into midfield. We need to play to his strengths to get the best out of him - probably wingers would be best but that isn't an option at the moment. His disallowed goal against St. Johnstone was a thing of beauty and, dare I say it, van Veen-esque in its execution. There's his equaliser against Ross County too, another quality finish.
  11. Paton in for Obika. I'd expect an extra midfielder an one up top away to a top six team so fairly happy with that.
  12. No. I like Paton, he does a lot of breaking up play and moving the ball on quickly but I think we have seen his weakness now. Defensively he seems to lose his man too often and it has cost the team goals. Davor did well, no defensive lapses yet and I think that he deserves to keep his place.
  13. He's from Paisley so he already is home.
  14. I'd take a point but I'll go for 1-0 with Bair scoring and Kelly man of the match.
  15. Gave it to Gent but I thought that Davor had a good game too as did SODs at centre half.
  16. I think that the key difference is the performances which aren't as bad as when Hammel was in charge. Going into the last ten minutes one or two goals down, Hammell's team would not have fought back to win points.
  17. Pish. That's no better than our commentator constantly getting Obika and Mugabi mixed up.
  18. Not a fan of your phrasing as the gentleman in question actually has a name but I agree with you. Daniel Philips is exactly the kind of midfielder that we need and, although he was poor in the last game, he controlled the midfield when playing against us last season.
  19. Butcher has a calf injury and is out, Casey is suspended but no word on his injury, McGinn still being assessed for a return.
  20. Thought Bevis was the best of a bad bunch first half and Davor did well second half. SODs was average first half but did well at centre half after all the substitutions were made so somehow scrapes it. He played the full ninety and was the least worst.
  21. Was Bevis injured? Potentially without him, Butcher and Casey at the weekend.
  22. Tony Mowbray. Sacked by Sunderland but seems like most were sad to see him go. No money to spend, brought youth players into the first team, nearly got promoted.
  23. Really hoped that Kettlewell would be able to get back to winning ways but looking very unlikely. Wonder if Tony Mowbray would be interested.
