Hopefully Joe Efford and Michael Mandron will be able to play some part before the end of the season and prove themselves for a new contract. I'd like to see Oxborough play the league cup group matches so that we can see what he can do and he may even earn an extension. McGinn, Cornelius, Casey and Aitchison would be useful to keep if they want to stay and I'd like Johnston sign on for another two years but maybe sell him in 2024.

It's all relative though as we expect to be in the bottom six but challenging for the top six so bottom two is failure for us. Liverpool expect to be winning trophies every season so 8th and out of the cups is probably a comparable level of failure for them. The point remains though, support your team through the hardest times too.

Don't forget, we also looked fairly good under Hammell for a handful of games at the start of the season. Hopefully Kettlewell won't run out of ideas like he did.

I like the way that Kettlwell has managed our most disappointing players i.e. O'Donnell and Slattery. He could easily have punted them into the reserves but - despite knowing full well how poor they were recently - he put his trust in them and put them on to defend leads. They both seem to have responded well.
