We know that Butch was good with bringing the kids in but what about his signings? I was away at the time and don't remember so was he any good in the transfer market?
I'll never forget the look of shock on my Grand-dad's face when Ian Angus scored, he never believed that we had a chance that day. Papa only died last year, held on long enough to see my daughter for the first time and passed away three weeks later. I miss him every day and this thread is really making me 'well up inside.
Obviously I'm in a tiny minority in looking forward to the early k.o. as it's the only chance that I get to see the 'Well play live. 7pm k.o. here, decent internet connection, bottle of whisky, couple of mates, sorted.
Surely Duds will suffer more call-ups for key players than our two? This may yet work in our favour. By the way, do you not think that Hollis is good enough to take Big Randy's place?
I had the dodgy french commentator too and a crappy interrupted internet connection but still enjoyed seeing our first win over the hoops since Skippy Sunday (I think?).
A bitterly disappointing result after our recent progress, but one should always try to look on the bright side. Accies are another three points closer to Division One.
I'll not criticise McCall until he's had the summer to work on the squad. A tough pre-season will do them good (more like the McGhee style perhaps?), a few new faces in and a few old ones out. Maybe we'll even see the completion of the Grella deal if he's still not getting a look-in at Leeds.
He's another gowser type, not many other clubs want him, we've no cash and if he wants to stay he really needs to earn a new contract. Needs to show what he's made of, gowser failed but we're no worse off as a result.
Surely Stranraer would be too late? We can't afford to pay someone to just sit on the bench. I really hoped that he'd turn out to be a special player but he would have had a run of games by now if that were the case.
