Much as I agree in principle, I thought Sutton was ok on Friday?

Dan Twardzik is the best keeper in our squad by far. He's not as good as Randolph or Ruddy, but for feck's sake, that's unlikely to happen again any time in the next 10 years. If you think Nielsen is better, you're mental. If you think it's as simple as nipping down the corner shop and grabbing a better keeper on zero wages, you're mental.

The Next Manager, Who Would You Want And Who Could We Get
StipeIsGod replied to stuwell's topic in Club Chat
I'd be interested in having him back, but a number of people on here seem to loathe anyone who's dared to go anywhere near the Old Firm, much less left us to get a better paid job with one of them. -

This has devolved into madness. -
Ramsden. Thought he covered the back four well, but strong cases for the entire team, really.
-
That's more fucking like it. Grit and grind with some promising play scattered in. And crucially, 3 points.
-
Same, although I'd add that I'm quite enthusiastic about the possibility of at least some form of decent play.

Someone's lapping up some old school Celtic paranoia there. -
OJ was going about for a while, and that was brutal.
-
Damn. I'll change that then. James McFadden, best willed signing in Motherwell history, however it went? Still, if that's the biggest nitpick you have within my point..?

My sentiments in full. McCall was an outstanding manager to the fans, with his emails and approachable nature fostering excellent relationships; crucial for a club of our size. He constantly remained on message, with nigh on incessant positivity as regards increasing crowd size, and frequently acknowledging the Bois as a huge crux of the team's strengths on the park. He did us a truly outstanding job in the league, leading a couple of teams, from inherited to ripped apart and restarted, to stunning positions, which, whilst apparently unachievable, especially for a wee upstart mob like ourselves, became the norm, and less than punching above our weight, it became, as far as I'm concerned, our weight. In the cups, a far less splendid record, but we can't forget or dismiss his work in getting us to the 2011 final, despite what happened on the day itself. In Europe, poor, admittedly. His transfers, which included poorer players such as Jones and Daley, I'd say, have been far offset by the likes of Humphrey, Higdon, Ojamaa, Anier and *spits* Nicky Law. He could have done more for the youth, admittedly, but as far as I'm concerned, that's his single blindest spot. And finally, I can't help but draw attention to the obvious; his dignity in leaving. A truly classy and outstanding statement, which emphasises the various reasons why I'm happy to have had Stuart as our manager. It has gone wrong in the end, and it is time to switch things up a little, but that is not to disparage the phenomenal work which has gone before, by a person I'd be happy to welcome back, as an old friend, into the Motherwell fold, at any time. Glasses up, for me, and all the best, Stuart.

Not possible. We're skint, and only Calderwood, an ex manager of 16 years, Adams, Leitch and...wait, what? We may employ someone off the beaten track? AGAIN!? Only for the 6th time or so in the last 12 years!? Although, seriously, a waste of time guessing, I sincerely hope. We'd never have guessed Butcher, McGhee, Gannon, McCall, or Brown, and I hope that continues. (And I know you're only quoting the facts CHL) -
Big Stall, as much as I've enjoyed the last few years of good successes, I'd trade every minute of it for a mediocre-pish league standing (not relegation) for one single cup. I've never seen Motherwell win one, and to be honest, I won't remember us winning as many as we can in 44 games in order to finish second as much as I'd remember a run and a win in a cup final. Crikey, for a recent example; Reid's goal to beat Aberdeen to get the second place vs the 3-0 game vs St Johnstone. We didn't win anything, but the taste of possibility of success, in getting to that final as opposed to crashing into the glass ceiling of second (at best) in the league is something far more unforgettable. It's not to demean the outstanding work and achievements, but I'd gladly have a horrible (but again, NOT club-ending) season for a cup.
-
Best of luck to him in future, it went badly wrong this year, but he did a great job for us in the league previously.
-
Solely Liverpool. Scottish football would be entirely dead to me. Although, good god, what a depressing question.
-
4-0 Dundee Utd, with Ciftci bossing our centre halves and bagging a hat-trick.
-
We get it, pal. Being a non-supportive dick helps no-one. Doesn't matter though, point proved.
-
I thought we were better tonight. Our better isn't good enough, and for the very first time, here it is from me, and I'm gutted to say it; McCall out.
-
Our wee Estonian was the main man this evening.
-
See, I think that, driven on by Ojamaa, Ainsworth and Vigurs, we've had some decent passages of play, and look decent for once. I can't feel my eyes bleeding, so that's a step forward.
-
If the club's not in imminent financial danger, I'm far from pleased with the letter from the society and what now feels like an attempt to hold us to ransom to achieve their goal of fan ownership.
-
Yes. Thank you for updating us.
-
In light of recent financial revelations, I'd like to withdraw my original 2-0, recognising that players are unlikely to see end of season bonuses, and make that 4-0.
-
And just when I didn't think I could actually be more scunnered with Motherwell.
-
I'd go with Twardzik Ramsden Kerr Mcmanus Hammell Reid Lasley Ainsworth Vigurs Ojamaa Erwin
