  1. It's all coming up Higdon. Noticed someone earlier on in the thread saying that we can't get 20 goal a season strikers. I agree, although 17 last season, bit of development, and a mighty 19 this season would do!
  2. Crikey. That sounds almost as unlosable a bet as "Frimpong wont see out the game, 10 quid says so" against Liverpool, post booking one.

Even more delighted to say I never complained about his forward play, which you appear to have based a MOTM on. The defending, positioning and generally poor dead balls, however... And agreed. He's not a midfielder.
  4. I'm having the page 1 credit if we get Leigh Griffiths. Bar that, any more news on Omar Daley?
  5. He wasn't rested. He was dropped. "Talentless waste of space" -S. McCall. Aye. He was rested. Good grief.
  6. Al B. Used to get the same pish with Sutton week after week. Currently, some of the more moronic Liverpool fans making the same complaint about Carroll. His knock downs are superb. It just so happens that (bar Suarez also playing) the quality to see the passes and react is lacking.
  7. Didn't catch the game. Massively heartened to see that McCall trusted the young guns to get us through the tie. After, on reading, a further impressive Forbes performance, is he maybe beginning to work hard enough and be disciplined enough in his play to warrant a starting argument? Certainly due a bit of faith, whilst he looks interested. Potential not in doubt, but the application has been in the past. Great to see Higdon get off the mark, both for himself, and my wallet.
  8. Acht, I was just raging after getting beat by them again. Hopes up and all that. Still perfectly happy with how things look for the season, and I reckon that the passing football will fit us properly, and work regularly after another month or so.
  9. The (realistic) thought, inside the head, is not a problem, mate. It's more the promotion of the thought publicly. He should be making these fellas feel indestructible, not of a lower quality, with the possibility of beating them.
  10. Indeed. This "hoping that they have a bad day" attitude is hellish. You need to MAKE them have a poor game. They are not the all conquering forces of nature that the TV would have you believe. Incidentally, double negative rating for suggesting that we shouldn't be hoping that they have a bad day as our main port of call... really?
  11. Agreed. Cups are a touch mental, even with a full first 11

Hately got to him, yes. He did, however, make a feeble attempt at pushing him off the ball. Indeed, the pass through should have been better covered, but I reckon that Ortiz should have been on his arse before he could slide it through. Hately caught him, aye, but then flapped a gentle arm at him, allowing him a pass through.
  13. Much as I hate to say it, I reckon, with the replays, he knew it was bouncing up, and leant an elbow into it. Least of our myriad worries v the h**s anyways.
  14. Forbes, McHugh, Carswell in, along with Page. Unfortunately Gary Smith has to miss the first bit, to allow Higdon to continue lumbering towards form (which I believe he will hit for us)
  15. I'll say as well, Sutton was great at getting the ball in the air. Rarely did it go to a Well player though, due to the 50p shaped noggin he had.

I felt that Hately was out of position far too many times. His efforts to push Ortiz off the ball for the second Rangers goal were frankly pathetic. Forward movement ok, Free kicks poor, corners; very repetitive, but the defending was howling. And honestly, I really like the guy. He's not one I'd lightly criticise, but I feel he sold the second goal. I apologise for the loonies comment, it was a bit strong.
  17. I enjoy these emails. I have had a couple of replies to questions asked by myself. I love his effort with these. The line "We needed them to have an off day" is fucking farcical, however.
  18. The "aiming an offensive term" got me. Especially with the shite they get away with week to week.
  19. Ooooohh.... you conspiracy theorist you.... And Starsail, hows about the game we beat them at Fir Park by going at them. It's a simple fact, we play better, and thus get better results against Celtic.
  20. I'm not saying we lie down to them, clearly, but I can see where ra Shellic's paranoia comes from in terms of Well v Rangers. Why do we never combat them properly, yet we always run the green scum into the ground for 90 mins?

Stevie Hammell edges it over Law for me. Both had very decent games considering the overall dross. Some loonies appear to have picked Hately. He's a damn good player, but he had an absolutely horrific showing today, I'm afraid.
  22. Solid today, as far as I'm concerned. Even if not, give him a touch of time to bed in. As mentioned earlier, the Juke was pish till mid-October.
  23. How about yourself and the early 2000's joke away and shaft yourself?
