  1. Cool stuff Andy In my experience the only XIs have been Mancs, Reds, Chelsea etc, so that bit of info is rather nice.
  2. Remarkable that we played a team against which we fielded an XI. I thought only the bigger teams did that.
  3. Shit. I'm in Liverpool this weekend (bloody Christening making me miss game 1...). First OSB I've missed in years.
  4. Cheers! I would be pretty chuffed with weekly updates, daily clearly better, and U19s highlights would be fantastic.
  5. I am delighted that he gave all he could to his country, and his club, over the years that he could. He has clearly retired because he feels that he would be spreading himself too thinly over three fronts (club, country, family) at the age of 35. Full respect to the man for the decision, and hopefully he does us another excellent turn, whether first choice, or third choice, with increased coaching responsibility, this year.
  6. Broadfoot, much as we've all taken the piss, is a quality SPL player. He is not, however, a striker. We need a striker. (I also agree with Johnstone re RBs.)
  7. Mate, I am fully behind it. I can't physically afford to support it. I hope the proposals work. I am just extremely worried that we can't raise the capital in hard cash to do well, despite the level of goodwill.
  8. Put simply for me - Heart - Stay. Head - Move.
  9. Amber_Nectar, I see where you're coming from. I also know two people who have been Well fans for 40 and 20 seasons respectively, and when possible have been season ticket holders. For work related reasons, both have missed more season tickets than they have had, but both have expressed that they would be delighted to be able to feel as if they were taking part in, and helping, the club. So it may be possible that more people feel the same way. And with people like you adding more money, there may be enough to make this work. I don't know, but maybe.
  10. I think the best move Murphy could make would be to a championship team (if possible), where he may have a chance of a start relatively soon.
  11. Definitely. We can't afford to replace his creativity.
  12. Never said I was better. I'm fully aware that as much as I criticise them, they will always be much better footballers than I ever was/am/had the potential to be. Merely rating them against other players in the same team. Can I also say, nice selective quoting, missing out the "yet" after "not good enough"? Really adds a bit of shine to a piss take comment which doesn't do anything except takes quotes out of context and adds a snide comment. Should I class them all as world beaters, or be slightly more realistic about their chances with us, at this time?
  13. Sitting in the East, game to game, right in the middle, the noise either sounds like a muffled bee fart or the voice of Brian Blessed 3 inches from your ear. It's like the temperature differential in a particularly pishy shower.
  14. Randy. Obviously Hately-Hutch-Saunders-Hammell -> Much as I love and respect Crags, he should be demoted to third place, for the development of Saunders, and the fact that I strongly believe Hately is better at RB than CM. Humphrey-Lasley-Jennings-Law -> can't see much of an argument Murphy Higdon. Subs- McHugh/Smith - Not good enough yet, need a decent season. Forbes - easy target. Needs a breakthrough or will never make it, Hollis - Looks the real deal. Pollock, Lawless/Page etc - Please. Do it.
  15. If you paid my travel and entry from St George Cross, I'd be more than happy to write a page spread for each game.
  16. I wondered the same, but left it, assuming someone knew the fella.
  17. Keep in mind that the fella is on the burroo the noo and needs a boost to get to a half decent wage again.
  18. Little appears firmly in the "plays for OF, gets caps" bracket for me. Ocht, and I got negatived for my Porter view. Does that person have a comment? Ocht, and I got negatived again!
  19. Porter would make a decent amount of sense. People are complaining about his fitness. Realistically, it's between him and Higdon for a place in the team. You only need one fit at a time, and it's dubious both would be gubbed at once. Better a high wage, decent sub, than some shite that can't score for Charlie Broon's comic.

    Faddy

He isn't coming back just now. Still, it's at least entertaining to have a hope thread such as this, as opposed to negativity, or "yaaaas, a 19 year old Stockport keeper!!!"
  21. Can you bet relegation each way? If so, I'll chuck the flat on Aberdeen!
  22. This. Exactly this. Also, the number of folk you see him hunt down after a bad foul.
