These games don't count so much, rather we did the business in a couple of weeks time, plenty of teams haven't done well in pre-season and had good seasons !! Next couple of games should see stronger team and performance . . . I hope !!
-
I actually really like what I see with young Carswell, he has only had a few games and people are writing him off, granted it might be a gamble in Europe but I personally think he is a really good player and is worth a run in the team, as many people have said there are lots of examples of more seasoned players taking a wee bit of time to settle down. Also look at Hutchy !!, he was a bit of car crash when he first came in, a season later and he is potentially one of our best assets.

Now That Rangers Have Been Booted To F*ck
mightywellscott replied to HanoMaSano's topic in Club Chat
LoL Brazilian, I like your style, I too have friends that follow the 'bigotted' ones and sometimes it is difficult to get them to convert to a team that doesn't always win, but it is always worth the effort and I give out my ticket and my sons to one or two of them on occasion to let them see what life is really like. It is always good when they get to meet one or two of the players after the game as they don't get that in Glasgow !! -
This is the time that Motherwell needs all its fans to go out and buy season tickets and get into the Well Society. Put something back into the club that you support !!
-
Agreed !!, apart from that he may also bring in some much needed gate money and a lift to the fans and team. Even on a short pay as you play deal I would jump at the chance to bring him in, just depends how desperate he is to get in the shop window, would be fair to say he doesn't need the money short term.
-
It was well reported that he was about to seal the deal but maybe I missed it ? the perils of working away from home and not catching up, still had a quick look on the bbc website and couldn't see it
-
I wish Jenno all the best what ever he does, would be great to have him for the whole of next season, but he needs to look after himself too. It also says in the Express that McCall won't be making any signing moves until at least when they are back in training, if at all !!! It is obvious the board are going to do nothing until the Rangers debacle is sorted and we have a better idea of the financial position. Its also obvious that no other club is committing to anyone until it is sorted, that will be why Johnny Hayes and Tim Clancy still haven't had anything confirmed with any Scottish clubs
-
We might not be in a position to be too picky and also McCall hasn't done too badly with his signings.
-
Don't see why they would not, board seem to be pretty transparent around this so far, let's wait and see.
-
I think it is a really positive move to set more resources around the youth development as thsi is what we have been about over the past 5 or 6 years at least. Youngy I believe has a great reputation for spotting and nurturing good talent and this will allow him to concentrate more on this. The more time and resources we can put to the youth development, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Let's hope so, European football must be an attractive proposition for potential loan deals
-
LoL, maybe that would boost attendances

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
mightywellscott replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Lol, lets hope so, so far though no one has hurried anything along with this debacle !! -
Great stuff, let's hope some of them can make it, Youngy has got a great reputation, lets also hope we can give him support (money or otherwise) to turn up a few gems.

Somehow even if it is private, this is way too big for it to be kept quiet, someone will leak it, deliberately or otherwise -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
mightywellscott replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Exactly, but we need to promote Motherwell FC first and foremost, let's be a force in our own right. We can and will survive without the bigoted majority, so do what we can to support Motherwell, lets all be advocates for our local team, there are plenty examples out there across the footballing world of the so called smaller teams working across the communities to promote ourselves. I would love to see a league without the so called big two, many countries are looking to do the same, stand up and be counted, support your team, regardless of the rest. Here endeth the lesson. -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
mightywellscott replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
That's why I've only looked at the pure ticket sales of approx £400K I am a pretty ethical guy and don't want Rangers to be admitted to the League 'as if nothing had happened', they have mucked up big time and need to pay the price, what I'm looking at is the affect on my/our team and the consequences for us. I'm pretty sure we will survive regardless but it would be fantastic if we could encourage another 1,000 season ticket holders, in particular the kids who will grow up with Motherwell and then influence future generations. 1,000 more at £300 average would almost wipe out the Rangers money. I would love to stick it right up to the scum that follow follow. My priority is to promote Motherwell FC and it always will be. -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
mightywellscott replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
It is a funny old game So do we fire out the cheating Rangers - first thoughts are Yes, absolutely and take your other half with you!!, Would the majority of the other clubs throw us out if we did the same - absolutely, therefore the logical answer is see yah !! But . . . how does this affect the mightywell? Can someone tell me what it means for us without them. The way I look at it is, say 7,000 - 8,000 tickets at £28, twice per season is around £400K per season + extra revenue from corporate and sponsorship, but remove extra Policing etc, so say these even themselves out and it works out at the £400K, can we live without that for next few years?? Probably, what does this do to the team in terms of the squad and Youngy with the youth team. What we need is to encourage more younger supporters to come along and bring their fathers/mothers/uncles/aunties along and get them to buy season tickets and support the team and build our fan base. If we want a league without the old firm then we need to get off our arses and support the club !! -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
mightywellscott replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
The whole Rangers thing is a total shambles from start to finish, who in their right mind would get involved with them? Fudd and Skelps are making a right arse of it all. Anyway spoke to a few Rangers colleagues and they are all for starting again in Div3 as they want to 'stuff us all' as apparently all the clubs will go to the wall without them, that would teach us !!!, Failed to see the point when I mentioned they have already stuffed us all by cheating us all for the past 20 years. Apparently they see it as everyone else's fault but their's Is their no end to the number of complete idiots out there ? -
Agree that one or two loan signings would be good to see if we get anywhere in Europe, then we are not committed to the ongoing wages as a club, lets hope we unearth a few gems from the lower leagues or one or two hoping to get into the fringes at some of the bigger clubs
-
. . . and we havn't signed anyone either, McCall and the board must be sitting patiently (or otherwise) waiting to see if Jenno commits and to see if we sell someone to allow us to bring players, interesting but frustrating times Anyone won the Euro millions?

This is a chance to change prizemoney split, voting rules etc NOW whether voting yes or no !! -
Motherwell need the support of every 'Well fan, as I have said before, as long as the decision is transparent and done for the best interest of Motherwell FC and not to pander to the old firm. Buy your season ticket and support your team, we need everyone behind us to make Motherwell a continued sucess.
