  1. It would certainly be interesting to hear the clubs view on it and reasons for doing it the way they do and also as I said on another thread what the take was for the game on Saturday compared to every other week. I would much rather see the south stand full every week with kids that got in for free rather than a basically empty stand with a couple of 00 saint mirren or Ross county fans huddled together. If it was done in the right way I'm pretty sure we could fill that stand every week and make extra on the pie stands and club shop. The school my dad works at has had free tickets in the past but didn't this time round, simply due to not knowing it was available. The club should compile a mailing list for every school, boys brigade, scouts, girl guides, cadets, sports clubs, youth centres, dance groups and bloody nurseries in both north and South Lanarkshire and email them anytime they are going to do one of these deals.
  2. We had a healthy looking crowd on Saturday due to the free tickets and yet again I find myself saying we should be doing it every week. But since that doesn't seem to be happening I went onto thinking about then next time it should be done that would have the best effect on the club. Any excitement the kids would have had about football will have long gone before next season rolls around, so my thought was why don't we do the same thing (on an even bigger scale if possible) for ALL the pre season friendlies. I can't see it denting the clubs pockets and it would get the kids looking toward the season ahead. One game isn't enough to get you hooked (or at least not everyone) but if they got into 2 or 3 pre season games for nothing it might start to become a regular thing for the kids to want to go to.
  3. Yeah at the time I thought the same but looking at it after last year it made a bit of sense. Last year the kids had their end of season pitch invasion, so the people that haven't been to a game since then (which I bet is most of them) might think its a regular thing and not just done on the last game, or at least that might have been what the Stewards were thinking anyway.
  4. I'm sick of saying it but it should be done every week. Would be interesting to know how much the club took in yesterday (including from the pie stands and club shop) compared to every other week.
  5. Would make it just as entertaining.
  6. Often think it would be fun to watch makaveli and steelboy argue.
  7. This is a troll effort right?
  8. How would we feel if we dropped the band? Just out of interest.
  9. Personally like the retro stuff, the new hearts top is a belter.
  10. My girl friend would have been at the football if it wasnt for the fact it was Celtic. She hates the vile atmosphere and im sure shes not the only one. I cant understand the club putting the price up for these games either. im sick of saying it but ticket prices are a massive reason for poor attendance. All in all the list goes, location, price, tv scheduling, crap advertisement/ football simply not being on peoples minds are the top reasons people stay away. Under 16 should get in free and it should be 10-12 quid for an adult. the club do the odd cheap game every so often but thats not going to make a change.
  11. Is this being covered on bbc? Cant get to it directly on my phone. Can someone post a link if its up?
  12. Just got to work and got a phone call from a colleague offering to do my shift fir me so I can go to the football. Dont normally like jambos, but this ones alright! Looking forward to the game now, would have been finishing work at 3 so was planning a mad dash to make it for the second half. Can chill the fuck out now.
  13. The earlier the better in my opinion. Chance of a run and watching the football in your shorts and t shirt. Canny beat it.
  14. Anyone getting up in arms over a drum must have far too much time on their hands (and im talking about both sides of the argument). If you were going to the game but have now decided to miss it due to a drum then you have to ask yourself if you are really interested in football or are just there to party for 90mins. I do agree banning that banning the drum is ridiculous though.
  15. I dont like picking on individual players but I have to say Neilson is less than useless.
  16. I would like to see him get a cup before he ends up else where.
  17. Was he the one That let it that howler that Omar Daily scored?
  18. While we are talking about videos, anyone got any footage from the 3-2 semi final against hearts in 2005? I think Fitzpatricks goal is up there along with the Jukes against hibs as one of my most enthusiastically celebrated. Would be nice to see that game again.
  19. He was our number one for a while was he not? I remember him having a long spell playing. There is a few videos on youtube where he is playing and it he is dreadful in all of them. The saint mirren game from the malpas season is a prime example.
  20. Has to be last seasons team. Not for individual ability but as a unit its the best I have seen at fir park.
  21. Not a convincing win but a win non the less. Could feel them scoring at the end but we managed to hang on. As a side note I managed to spot one of the people that have been letting off the bangers, and hes a banger himself. He was about 12 year old and was trying to mooch booze and fags off me and my mate at motherwell station, he was swiftly told where to fuck. He was kicking about the place latching himself on to groups of Well fans before they told him to beat it. He was also on my bus when I was heading to motherwell, he was sitting up the back himself singing Motherwell songs. Interesting to see who it actually is that is causing the problems.
