  1. I was the exact opposite. He scored a few goals in a good side but I never thought he was a player. Not at all saying I think he was bad at all, just that he never really caught my attention as being a talent. I thought he was your typical "come in, do a job for a bit, move on" kinda guy...was delighted when we actually got (relatively) decent money for him.
  2. Wee bit of little-known info, we very nearly signed Bruce Grobbelaar later in his career.

    Dom Thomas

Thats like "he needs to put on a stone of muscle" despite the fact that to actually do that would take about 4 years and on someone like Dom Thomas would probably prevent him being able to bend his arms and legs.
  4. Right, I openly admit I was taking his posts seriously until today. Hands up...I fell for it. Well played sir, well played.
  5. I have a sneaking feeling that if Yabba's Turd met him in person, it probably wouldn't go as he expected.
  6. Regardless of it being real-life/online, if someone comes into a group of people and acts like an arsehole, and the group of people don't stand for it and turn on said person...that is not, and never will be bullying. It's almost the antithesis of bullying.
  7. CMWellfan is the perfect example of a bad guy who doesn't realise he's the bad guy. The guy in the office that rips the piss out of his timekeeping and absence, and then complains about not enough work getting done.
  8. It boggles my brain that anyone could be of the opinion that Trafficlight was bullied.
  9. I really like Mark McGhee. Even if he wasn't Motherwell manager, I'd still really like Mark McGhee. I don't find him arrogant or egotistical at all, to the point where I'm not sure where people are getting such extreme evidence of it.
  10. You don't get slaughtered for what you say. You get slaughtered for saying it in the style of a condescending, know-all wank pot. You raise good points reasonably often but no-one cares because you come across like a complete prick and people would rather change their own views than agree with you, much in the same way as when someones mum says she likes their outfit, the first thing they want to do is get changed.
  11. Saving me typing a lot, I pretty much agree completely with Desp.
  12. As said elsewhere, this Celtic side under Rodgers is a different beast. We could go there at full strength, play well and still be on the sore end of a tanking. Dembele and particularly Sinclair are two of the best players I've seen in this league in many many years to the point where I actually tune in to a Celtic game if I can, as I love watching them play. Roberts is also a joy to watch. Also very much hoping for a swatch of Sinclair's Mrs.
  13. Again I don't necessarily disagree, but if Faddy is a bit-part player these days then I'd rather have him on for the first half where we can try and set the tone, as opposed to the last half hour trying to claw back a bit of respectability.
  14. -------------------Brill--------------------- Tait---Heneghan---McManus---Hammell Ainsworth---Cadden---Clay---McFadden ------------Moult---McDonald----------- With everyone fit I'd have Chalmers in ahead of Hammell, and possibly McHugh ahead of Clay, but I feel we HAVE to go with something like that as soon as possible. Don't get me wrong, I get what he's trying to do with Bowman, and I do think there's a little bit of something that could develop...but I don't think now is the time to do it. Bowman is a strong athletic boy and whilst I take Steelboy's earlier point that he's not exactly blessed with technique, I don't think he's a haddy either and could be a useful sub around the 60/70 min mark if we're looking for fresh legs up top. We're crying out for a bit of creativity in the final 3rd, yet we have it on the bench...and that's twice it's given us a lift and changed the game with Lionel and Faddy coming on, just on both occasions it's been too late. Those players, in a solid 4-4-2 with a bit of discipline, everyone knowing what they are supposed to be doing, left footers playing left, right footers playing right, strikers playing up top. That's a no brainer for me right now. Im the opposite to some in that I don't think we have bad players, I just think we're trying to fit players to a system instead of fitting a system to the players. Get the fundamentals right, and I genuinely do think the players have enough quality to win games.
  15. The thing that's frustrating is there's actually 4 mistakes in the one decision, as not only are there 3 defenders plus the keeper either in-line or between McDonald and the goal, but he's also actually behind the ball when it's headed back over.
  16. I think it's an absolute stick-on that Pearson will be back in January. I'd go so far as to say I think it's already been arranged. With that in mind it makes the Lucas situation a little clearer, and I think the intention is to have a "make do" midfield that will do a reasonable job until the turn of the year. If we can roughly match our results so far over the next 3 months i'd be relatively happy with that, and if (when) Pearo returns we can build on that for a strong second half to the season. To summarise, I'm fairly happy with how things are going. Sure there's tweaks that are needed, and i'd prefer to perform at consistant 7's rather than a random mixture of 10/10 and 4/10, but I'm quite enjoying the season so far, we're sitting 4th (for now), and there's scope for improvement as the season goes on. That's fine by me.
  17. My vote goes to the curry pies. Great stuff.
  18. On Tweeds point about Tait's cross, that's the kind of clever thinking that can unlock a defence. Everyone...defenders, the crowd, was expecting him to head for the byline and cross with his right, but by cutting onto his left and clipping it in it caught their backline setting up to defend the cross on their wrong side and having to adjust. By that time McDonald is on the end of it and it's a goal. Really intelligent decision. On wellowell's point, by all means disagree and it appears you do, but I firmly believe if Faddy doesn't come on today then we don't get the draw. He has a natural awareness of where the spaces are, which is what we were hugely lacking up until that point.
  19. I remember Matt Le Tissier telling a story about how he and a few other guys used to place big bets via friends on first throw in, and then just smash the ball out the park straight from kick-off. On one occasion he had a significant amount of money on it, and one of his team-mates who obviously wasn't aware of the bet, absolutely burst himself trying to get up the line in time to keep the ball in play, which he did, and Le Tissier lost a bundle.

    Left Backs

Gava Falkirk Stevie Kirk, AND Paul McGrillen, AND cash...just to get Eddie May. And then played him in a different position from the one he had impressed in at Falkirk!
