  1. That was Ainsworth if I remember right. Backheel volley to Marvin, who then played Moult in. Edit: Just watched the highlights and I clearly don't remember rightly at all!
  2. I missed pretty much all of last season due to work so it's the first time i've seen Cadden in the flesh. Was really impressed with his feet and his ability on the ball, although he did seem to invariably end up heading backwards after beating his men, and wouldn't expect everything he tried would be as successful against a stronger midfield. Henegan looked pretty solid and Moult and Ainsworth were effective...Ainsworth's delivery from corrners looks like it has seen some work...they were all into dangerous areas. Can't argue with Marvin for MOTM though, when he starts a game well and knows early that he's got his full-backs, he looks almost unstoppable.
  3. Michael Higdon. Heard it here first.
  4. Yeah, I think you are looking into reasons too deeply Steeledge. It purely comes down to i'd have the home shirt without because I think it looks better, and the away top with because I think it looks better.
  5. Im enjoying that post purely because out of all the things he could have picked, he went with tomahawk. I like a wee bit of the unexpected...bravo sir!
  6. You've kinda answered it yourself when you said the sponsor often detracts from the look of the shirt. That means sometimes it doesn't. Id have the home shirt with no sponsor, but I think the blue away kit looks better with it. Take the sponsor off the home and its still a Motherwell replica top. Take the sponsor off the away and its just a blue polo shirt that I wouldn't wear. It needs the sponsor to make it a football top for going to games in. Edited to say...no-one should be "walking around" advertising anything. If you're an adult and you're wearing a football top anywhere but going to the football, you shouldn't be allowed out.
  7. There's a massive difference between wanting to know, and throwing a hissy fit when you aren't told. The first one is perfectly fine, as long as it's tempered by the knowledge that it's not something you're entitled to. Also on a more general point (and for the hard of reading CMWellfan), I never called you, me or any of us customers. The term was part of a list of various names we could be called, with the point being that whatever name you give us as a group, none of them afford us inside knowledge of business dealings.
  8. Indeed. There's plenty reasons either party might choose to not make something official public knowledge. What is public knowledge is that we were/are looking to bring players in....if selling parties know we've just taken £250,000 then all of a sudden a 50k player we were looking at suddenly has a 100k price tag. If we're negotiating wages with a player their £1500 per week request all of a sudden becomes £2000. But WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!111 though! I went to Aberdeen and it was cold so tell me everything!!
  9. The club are looking for people who will put money in, not ask any questions and keep quiet. There's a hundred reasons why that will never happen, but the reality of the situation as it stands is that putting money into the 'Well Society gets you absolutely nothing except a rosy glow if that's your thing. Anyone expecting any more is just going to be disappointed. LIke this guy: Jesus Christ... Anyway we could go round in circles debating what you want with whats on offer, but I've heard a rumour that Wendy from the office is buying printer ink direct from Staples instead of just getting old cartidges refilled for a quarter of the price, so I'm away to punch my Mrs in the face. Or I might just go and watch the football on Saturday, go home when it's finished and get on with the rest of my life.
  10. No, we really aren't. For the average punter, which you are, I am, most of us are...the fan-ownership thing is just a scaled up version of the buy-a-brick scheme. If you think that the club is spending money unwisely, or not capitalising on oppertunities in the way you feel they should, then you are 100% entitled to take your money elsewhere, or keep it in your pocket. But if you think buying into the 'Well Society affords you any kind of rights as far as the business is concerned, then you're going to be one very disappointed guy and have, it would seem, completely misunderstood what the 'Well Society is. I appreciate you might have your own scale for stupid though, and that's fair enough.
  11. Weirdly as a complete opposite to the home shirt, I prefer this one with the sponsor.
  12. Im sure we have 100% clarity on any Robbie Leitch development fee. The fact that me and you don't, doesn't matter one bit. Serious question: How much do you as a fan, feel you are entitled to know? Fans, supporters, paying customers, there are various different things we can be called...but none of them entitle us to be kept informed of the inner workings of the business. The only thing that isn't adding up is why people get so hung up over information that they aren't privvy to. If you can't enjoy going to the football without needing due-diligence on their business model, I think you probably need some friends, or maybe an outside interest or two.
  13. I think that's a cracker. Really like both the home and away this season. Third im a bit meh about. Overall i'm delighted with the tailored fit, particularly the sleeves.
  14. He's probably got wise to the fact that if he says he's got hopes of bringing someone in and doesn't manage to, then the online-mile-oots will still be casting it up in another 9 years time with absolutely side splitting "german contacts" style patter.
  15. I'd imagine if that was the case then the pay-off would be increased sales. Worth the experiment i'd say.
  16. Strangely I think the ones with the sponsor look absolutely horrific, but the ones without the sponsor look fantastic! Just shows what a difference a poorly integrated logo makes. And fitted sleeves at last!
  17. Yeah the blue wouldn't work at all, brings back horrible memories of the Zoom kits.

    CMWellfan makes me miss Trafficlight.
  19. I think they have been brilliant. All I ask for is a company that allows their logo colour to be altered to suit the shirt, and they have done exactly that. Zoom and Jaxx (on the white away) were horrific.
  20. Rather than a 1 year deal with the option of a years extension, think of it as a committed 2 year deal from our side, with a clause whereby he can walk away after one should he wish. Like Steelboy I was also led to believe this was the case.
  21. When asked about the newly announced fixture list, Motherwell F.C. Chief Operating Officer Alan Burrows said:
  22. Just catching up with earlier chat on the Lee Erwin thing (regardless of whether or not there's anything in it). I was always a bit middle-of-the-road with him, but I do admit i'd be curious to see what McGhee could do with him in that triple-pronged attack that he likes. He's implemented it as best he could with the players we had, but having a full close season and pre-season should see him able to put it into effect the way he specifically wants it, both in personnel and tactically. I can see why Erwin would pique his interest in that case.
  23. Weeyin, just wanted to check if I was reading that right, because it sounds utterly bizarre. Are you saying that the 20 grand was basically just a retainer for the rights to the seat, which only gave you the privilege of then buying a season ticket for it each season at further cost?
  24. David Goodwillie's attitude was that he was absolutely brilliant, and United's public attitude was that they were lucky to have him. Jamie Murphy's attitude was that he was happy to be here, and the club's public attitude was that we were happy to have him. The media picked up on both of those. That's your difference in price-bracket right there...ability had relatively little to do with it, and wouldn't have unless one was spectacularly good or spectacularly bad which wasn't the case, they were much-of-a-muchness. Two people punting the exact same item on ebay: Someone who is an ebay machine will sell it for 2/3/4 times the price of some ordinary punter who's just clearing space in a cupboard.
  25. I for one, am shocked at this revelation.
