  1. Well, the reason I didn't go on to explain why, is that I'm not exactly sure. It's probably a combination of a few things, but mostly I think it's the "pulling back the curtain" so to speak. The best I can do by way of explanation, is that for me the appeal was always the escapism of going to the games, it was just purely watching football. Over the last few years there has been a huge drive to get fans more involved in the club, and it's actually what's pushed me away in many ways. I don't care about players contracts, I don't want to know what goes on behind the scenes or how the club is run, how much money we spend and make, turnovers, TV deals, sponsorships etc etc. I just want to watch the football. I know there are those who would say "well just don't get involved then", but in this day and age it's impossible to ignore, with all the in's and out's of football being pushed into the the public domain from all sides. I guess for me the opening up of the workings of the club and the game, has taken away a lot of the magic that was the reason I went to football.
  2. It has to be acknowledged that TV is only part of the issue though. As an example, I was a week-in/week-out'er since 1994 until a couple of seasons ago. I don't have Sky or Virgin or BT etc...so pretty much no access to football on TV, and I reckon i've been to maybe only 7 games in the last 2 seasons.
  3. United are absolutely diabolical. Away win.
  4. The thing that came back to me on reading that article was the during the Hearts cup game, when we equalised the majority of the Hearts crowd stood and applauded. Probably never see that under any other circumstances...strange but very poignant.
  5. I disagree....if you're an attack minded player you're taking that option every time regardless of the circumstances. I'd be more annoyed that his execution of something relatively simple under no pressure, was poor.

Doesn't matter to me who it is, if the best performing player at training isn't one of your players and he's willing to become one for next to nothing, you do the deal. You'd be stupid not to.
  7. He's not saying you can't agree with him, he's asking why you do....
  8. I really don't get the fascination with dressing like old men. I'm all for a nod to history, but if we don't embrace the now then future kit designers won't have any history to nod at.

Take it the jovial tone will be gone again after Saturday?
  10. I'll summarise it for you: "Give us money but don't ask questions" "No."

The main thing that works against them though, is that rugby is utterly terrible and played by the worst type of people I can think of.
  12. I dunno about that, our change in fortunes has been because I've been paying 500 quid a week to get a cyber-game in the first team since the Celtic game. I've played well to be fair.
  13. A job in the oil industry is part of Paul Lawson's gig at Formartine, takes care of his future so you can see why he's gone for it.
  14. There's about 5 pages now, chock full of people coming back to you on content, and not one single person agreeing with you. At best there's a couple of examples of (to paraphrase) "I see where you're trying to come from, but have gone about it in a wrong and completely counterproductive way". So I think we can put your claim about not being able to come back on content, firmly to bed. Aside from that, it wasn't a comeback or attack in any way, shape or form. It was a genuine question.
  15. Everyone's thinking it, but I'm going to ask... Are you about 15? Or a teenager at least?
  16. If that's what it boils down to for you, then I reckon a lot of peoples' discussions with you will probably end here, and along with it any public, vocal or financial support they may have offered previously, or in the future. Which is a shame. However mental it may seem to you, if the level of policing the Green Brigade get was enough then their wouldn't be a Green Brigade.
  17. The team the fans support is completely irrelevant. It's nothing to do with whatever club they follow. It is 100% about a cross section of the population who are notoriously under-policed, under-stewarded, who time and time again breach legislation, laws, decency and morality, flaunting it at every opportunity with untouchable arrogance..... standing protesting against heavy hands. It's the utter hypocrisy of the whole thing. Say you are a guy who was being forced to do extra hours at work, and was being disciplined if you were 5 mins late or if your lunch break over-ran by 2 minutes. Another boy who works there continually swans in whenever he likes, goes home early, and takes as long as he wants for lunch, but gets offered a pay rise. One day he comes to you and says "me and you should get together to protest about how badly we are treated here, I'm fed up with it". If your answer was anything other than "Piss off!! You wouldn't know badly treated if it smacked you in the face! You should be sacked for the shit you get away with while I'm bursting my arse!", then I doubt many would believe you. And that's the message that should be sent to the Green Brigade, and why this joint protest has rubbed everyone up the wrong way. Funny thing is, if that situation happened in a workplace, no-one would make allowances for the guy who was genuinely being mistreated, the opinions would be drawn to the guy that takes advantage and both would be tarred with that brush. Even though the good guy's grievance was completely justified and genuine, they would forever be known as "those two guys who take the piss doing nothing and then moan about it", purely because of the other guys reputation. As I said earlier, you are judged by the company you keep. Choose carefully.
  18. Standing in unison with a group who get away with utterly disgusting behaviour as a result of the authorities turning a blind eye to their antics, often actually facilitating it, and ignoring legislation in order to not upset certain parties. The reason being to protest against over zealous policing/stewarding/legislation? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Two choices in life. You can be a part of the problem, or a part of the solution. They have certainly never shown an interest in standing shoulder to shoulder with smaller clubs previously, so it's fair to assume they see some kind of benefit in it for them. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this has been a calculated move by the GB to latch onto a more "legitimate" campaign in order to have something to hide behind. You're judged by the company you keep. Massive error of judgement here.
  19. Imagine only scoring goals eh. Useless. Surely no matter who the player is, if he's in the side and you score goals, and then he's not in the side and you don't goals, you miss him by default? I wouldn't imagine it's even up for debate...It's a cause/effect thing, the persons name doesn't make a difference?
  20. Horses for courses. I watched through it and my feeling was one of great positivity. To be fair though, I'm convinced if someone gave you a bag with a million quid in it, you'd complain about it being too heavy.
  21. When you say his manegerial record is awful, do you mean with the exception of having a win ratio of 40% or better at 4 different clubs totalling 11 and a half years?
  22. It's the "I thought she really liked me but she didn't even text the next day" brigade. I'm not looking for Mark McGhee to be Motherwell manager in 5 years. Im looking for Motherwell to get out of this mess now. Long-term thinking is generally the way to go, but right now we need a quick fix before we start worrying about the future, otherwise we might not even have one.
  23. If we win games then I have absolutely no problem with any of the above.
  24. Don't disagree with the point your sarcasm is making....but what do you want then, a manager with no ideas just in case the players don't listen?
