Called the St Mirren game as a win by at least 3. This is a win by at least two, once again...3 points never in doubt once we get ahead. Which we will.

In fairness I don't think it was so much that he was getting much wrong, more that he had so much to try and put right, and was never going to manage everything in the first couple of months. It was always going to take time and i'm sure it was all worked through fairly methodically, and he knew where he felt he could have us a little bit further down the line than many fans were willing to look.

Also his best performance i've seen was the 8-1 game against Flamurtari (which if memory serves, he didn't even get on the scoresheet?), where he was 100% the reason we steamrollered it...absolutely everything went through him, he ran the show that day. It's funny to think the highest amount of goals scored in total by any Motherwell player in 40 years....Big Higgy scored half of that in one season. (loosely...obviously including cup goals).

I believe around the time we were having major troubles with the pitch, the club investigated how much it would cost to level the pitch while we were at it, and were quoted something in the region of 3 and a half million. Lowering it at the east side wasn't possible because it would take it down into the foundations of the East Stand, and raising it at the other side affected the front few rows of the South Stand west, and also involved the lifting of the dugouts and raising up of the tunnel entrance. gaz7, aside from any investigation or quote, it shouldn't be hard to work out that if you lift one side of the pitch up by 5 feet, every single thing pitchside needs to be lifted up by 5 feet....you're talking about spending more than the whole ground is worth, just to put in an astroturf pitch. People aren't in the dark ages...they are just aware of why it's impossible at Fir Park.

You can list as many examples of that as you like, but the fact still remains that we would stroll a foot-golf tournament against any one of them.
