I have a feeling you're missing the joke....
-
He was, funded by the money we got from Blackpool for Jamie Murphy. Then Murphy decided to turn them down.

Based on what? Based on what? Based on what? Based on what? Based on what? Why? Any chance of you waiting to see if it ever actually happens before you judge the guy? Based on what?

This is very true. Ramsden must be shiting himself, he's a handsome lad.

I just don't think it's all that weakened. Anier in for Sutton is a legitimate swap as things stand, Vigurs hasn't yet nailed an automatic starting slot, and McFadden isn't firing yet anyway. The first two omissions from the starting line-up could justifiably happen even if the full squad was away, and no-one would bat much of an eye...and as much as people would question McFadden not starting, that's more because of his status rather than his performances so far. It's not likely that we'd win anyway...but i don't think those changes make it particularly less likely.

Nae chance, McCall is too close to McCoist and Smith for the current powers that be to be interested in him.
-
As im sure Lee Hollis would testify, no-one's interested in waiting to find out...it would seem.

Couple of seasons ago at East End Park, "songs for Stuart Carswell...oh we've no songs for Stuart Carswell" is still the funniest thing i've ever heard at a match
-
The reason he's been poor is because when he has 3 men on him he needs to realise that's left 2 team-mates open, and find them with the ball...rather than trying to beat all 3. He's playing like a 19 year-old wonderkid who has all the talent in the world but lacks the maturity to make the right choices.
-
On a tenuously related note...Hammell's first touch is one of the best i've ever seen, and I think his team-mates know it...as long as they pump it out roughly towards him he's capable of killing it on his toe from almost anywhere. Few example of it not being so over the years obviously...but for the amount of times that skill is used per game he's right up there. Have to give McManus MOM though, we're lucky enough to have yet another player who is a level or two above, and it shows.

We need a banner for behind the goal at Rugby Park that says "We'll catch this one Tom"

The main thing I took from last night is that, as disappointed as I am, there's not much in the SPL (or whatever the fuck its called), that will cause us too much trouble. Not that we'll steamroller games, but we're a very capable side with a lot more quality than I think we give ourselves credit for. The main difference for me is that we can compete reasonably well when it comes down to football, but the further through a competition you get, you reach a stage where the sides you meet are made up of real genuine athletes, against a team that look like guys you could have went to school with that happened to be decent at football. Thats not the clubs fault...it's an infrastructure and development thing in this country.

Well, those things relate to what I actually watch on the park so yes...I do. Football is a big interest of mine, and Motherwell FC are my favourite club within that sport, but as i've said it starts and stops with the football. Also 1500 posts in almost 5 years is hardly impressive posting figures. I'd compare it to a favourite band. I buy their albums, I listen to them, discuss them, maybe even go and see them if they are playing a show...but if they split up or stopped putting music out because they couldn't afford to do it anymore, then that would be that, that's not my responsibility. Im a consumer/customer and as long as they are putting out a product I like then i'll pay for it. Just to clarify, i'm not saying I don't understand people who live and breathe their football club, and would do anything within their power to help sustain it. of course I do.... I'm just not one of them. It's only a game. I'd also point out that my stance on it's importance has changed over the years, and may well do again, who knows. But for now, that's the way I see it. It's a very similar view to that of a 10 year old...they can still be passionate about their team, but have no concept of or interest in, anything that goes on away from matchday.
-
I have huge respect for those who do care enough about something to want to pump money into it. However blunt this might sound though, if the club did go out of business...i'd just do something else. For me, it's only football...and purely personally, im not interested in it being more.
-
Would you still pay for a TV Licence if you didn't have to though?

He's certainly no Brad Pitch.

In fact in saying that, i've decided im going to stop playing my usual game of 5's on a thursday and find a Downs Syndrome football league to play in instead. I'll tear that shit up. #goals #baller
-
Nicky Law? The best player in the 2nd Division? No shit! In other news if Faddy came along to my 5's on Thursday, he'd be the best player there. Just thought that may need clarified.
-
I think Vigurs will unlock them with relative ease, but I also think we'll concede as our backline will take a few more games to properly settle. 3-1 Motherwell.

For me, it's because im just genuinely not interested in getting involved in that side of things. I like going to the football on a Saturday (or whichever day it happens to be) to watch my team...and that's where it starts and stops for me. I don't want to know how the club is run, don't want to be involved in any of the non-matchday stuff, it genuinely wouldn't bother me if I didn't even know who Leeane Dempster is, let alone what she thought about things...and that's not a slur on her at all, I happen to think she's doing a great job...but If her opinions and aims weren't put out there in front of me in a way i can't really ignore...then I wouldn't seek to find out what they were. If it wasn't for the internet and this forum, I probably wouldn't even know who our Chief Executive was, and I genuinely wouldn't care. Much the same as I'd enjoy a film less if I was privvy to budgets, re-takes, the monotony of editing etc, then i'd never be able to just sit and watch a film for what it was...if I was privvy to any behind the scenes football stuff, then it would destroy what watching football is for me. It's my escapism from the rest of the week and my chance to just switch off and not think about anything else for an hour and a half. Then it finishes and I go home...im not interested in it being more than that because i'd lose more than I gained in terms of football's role in my life. Football is my Wizard of Oz...and im not interested in pulling back the curtain to find out it's just an old guy with a microphone.

I haven't joined the Society, and have no plans to.

Where's your balancing point though? 7000 at £20 would bring in £140,000...but 6000 at £25 would bring in £150,000. Will an extra fiver stop 1000 people going?? I doubt it....at the very least it's worth the gamble.

Unless you're playing 5's or attending a match, 15 is too old for a football shirt.

Did they actually use the word parade? If they did, then there better be an actual parade or I won't be happy. This inaccurate info and misleading of the fans is what's making me consider my season ticket. Don't tell us there is going to be a parade and then at least not have a trumpet, or even a juggler.
