That Canterbury away is my favourite ever Motherwell top.

I would imagine he'll start, and then get subbed off to allow the crowd to show their appreciation.

Fair doos. I just think the posts following his will have the guy going away thinking "wow, what a bunch of c***s" or whatever the Spanish equivalent is, when he's just trying to help our exposure abroad.
-
In fairness, getting Motherwell fans onside seems to be pretty much the guys point of coming on here, and what he's trying to do, yet folk are having a go? If someone in arguably the biggest footballing country in Europe wants to start talking about us, then great.

Petrol isny even blue.

It says, What's wrong with that?

Yeah their stadium is built into a quarry. I remember it from when they put Celtic out a couple of years ago.

I wouldn't be adverse to playing Murphy and Ojamma up top with Higdon a wee bit deeper. That's generally where he wins most of the ball anyway and it would mean he didn't have to do that as well as try and be the first person in the box. A kind of variation of the McCormack - Porter - Clarky front three, with the big guy a little deeper. Obviously wouldn't suit being used against every opponent, but could be a useful change to have in the locker.

Entertainment - The Saviour Of Scottish Football

We don't have a poor support, we have a numerically small support that's stayed pretty constant for a long time regardless of whether we're 2nd, 3rd, or bottom. Some times it's higher, sometimes it's lower, but in general our core support doesn't and won't waver very much. Take it as a percentage of population though, and we have the largest support in the league. (Yes we have out-of-town fans like myself, but every club does so that cancels itself out). The ratio of people who attend Fir Park to population of the town, is higher than any other town or city in Scotland. And people who just come to big games aren't "glory hunters" or whatever else you want to call them, they are people who are just enjoying a big day out, the same as they would make an effort to go to any big day out that was in any way relevant to them. It's not a crime to not be interested in week-in-week-out football attendance, you can be a fan of a team and yet have better things to do with your money. It's a special occasion and people are going to make an effort to take part, who wouldn't normally. There's something really seriously unhinged about people who hold that viewpoint. What's wrong with not being interested in attending regular football matches? Does that mean you can't be a fan? Can being a football fan not be a separate thing from being a football attendee? Probably 80% of people on this forum (not to mention in Scotland), would consider them to be a fan of and English or foreign club....and would probably make the effort to go if there happened to be a big occasion that they were able to attend. Are they a disgrace because they don't go and see them every week? Can they not just be a fan of a club who'd make an effort over and above what they would normally do, because it's a special occasion? Am I allowed to go and see a band in concert if I don't have all their albums? Is that okay with you? Football snobbery does my fucking tits in. -
I appreciate what you're saying re money, and for that reason i'd agree it wouldn't have been a smart move (or even possible), but when he arrived at Motherwell he was 19.... you're not going to be "convinced" by any centre-back at that age, but to be at the level he was at already...it would be an absolute no-brainer for me if it wasn't down to money.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
Al B replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Here's the difference though. Imagine you're at work, and you have a colleague that's dipping into the petty cash, or stealing product/equipment, and you know about it but don't have the authority to do anything. You would be absolutely raging, and it would probably make your working life miserable, knowing that you were working your arse off every day, and yet there was this freeloader taking more than his fair share. You've tried to highlight it but nothing has been obvious to your boss, and he's never seemed to believe you when you've tried to raise the matter. Then one day, your boss catches him in the act, and everyone else who works there is over the moon, because finally...after all this time, the guy is fucked and will get his jotters. But then your boss tells this guy that it's not a problem, and not to worry about it. Tells him he doesn't have to pay any of it back, and politely asks him to try and not do it again. You would have a lot of people handing in their notice there and then, and the rest would be severely jobhunting and leaving at the first opportunity. But of course employers know this, therefore it would never happen.... Except in Scottish football, where blind loyalty ensures that the powers that be can do whatever they like because fans will continually bend over and take the big one, because they like their wee desk and have got it looking all nice, so it doesn't matter what the other employees do, as long as my office chair is still nice and comfy. The issue isn't that it's happening. The issue is that the bosses have said they know about it, are okay with it, and it doesn't matter. That's whats changed. -
Yeah Gunning's been fantastic this season, and United fans rate him highly. Probably the player I'm most disappointed to have let slip. Said at the end of last season I couldn't believe we were letting go of someone who was at his standard whilst still being young enough to play in our youth team. Obviously there may have been mitigating circumstances though, and I'm by no means disappointed to have Clancy instead. I reckon United will make a fair bit of money from Gunning in years to come though.

It's not irrelevant in the sense that it's part of a greater whole, which should it go the right way then a negative fan response will be avoided, therefore it's important to contribute to a certain course of action. However for me (and many others from what I can gather), this is bigger than the individual clubs themselves, it's a matter for Scottish football and how it is viewed by the Scottish football fans. If Rangers are allowed back in the league, then it is the whole point of the sport in this country that has been completely undermined and rendered completely irrelevant, therefore i'm not willing to pump thousands of hard-earned pounds into it in any way, shape or form.
-
I'll simplify it as best I can:- It's not a boycott. If a NewCo Rangers are voted back into the SPL, im not interested in Scottish football anymore.

And his "alternative to admin" was to throw more money at the problem and try to spend our way out of it.
